Staff EXTREMELY unfriendly. The whole Pay for Breakfast everyday thing is silly. They Literally "Hawk" Over you as your getting coffee or a banana. Being "bullied" into buying the breakfast and making you feel like your stealing by standing literally on top of you while getting Coffee. HATED that for our 5 day stay. No hello, No How are you - Just the lady coming RIGHT up to you..... " Are you getting breakfast" real Unfriendly like..........Pool and Jacuzzi - Pretty grimy if I'm being honest. The amount of chlorine they use, you couldn't stay but 5 mins in there without eyes burning..... Rooms themselves were alright but I would NOT recommend or stay back here due to the staff, their demeanor and attitudes. For $800 much friendlier, Free Breakfast and accommodations at other Hotels.

The hotel is located reasonably close to the highway in a commercial area that has a number of dining options if you don't want to eat in the restaurant. When we arrived, the front lobby was very modern looking and had a number of seating areas that could hold small groups, and one large communal table. There was also a small convenience store with about anything you could need (if not, there is a grocery about 200 feet away). We were warmly greeted and instructed where to park (there is a shared parking lot). Overall the hotel was clean and very quiet, even overnight. Check in and check out was very straightforward. In the room, pretty standard Hilton bed, extra blanket and pillow, working desk, side chair, large screen LCD, and small coffee/microwave/refrigerator area. The bathroom has the standard toiletries, and the towels were OK. The only real complaint is that the lighting was not very good for my wife to get ready in the morning - lots of shadows. The on-site restaurant was pretty average and slightly overpriced. The bar area was nice and there were a few people sitting there and in the lobby while we were there.

This hotel double charged me by accepting a travel reservation under points but then at checkout charging my card for the stay. Therefore being double payed for one of the nights. When my credit card company called to request a refund they were continuously unavailable and responsive and difficult even though they were paid twice for one night stay. I wrote a complaint to the manager who wrote me an email back, however never responded after the first email totally neglecting the event. Such a shame this hotel is close to an area that we frequent a lot but customer service is super important.

NOTICE: Our room smelled like an ASH TRAY! The tobacco stench was horrible. The rooms interior was very worn and dated. You could tell it had seen some hard wear and tear. The carpet was worn out. Vacuuming apparently didn't include getting close to the edges of things nor near the walls. Walking down the hallway to get to our room was LIKE a SAUNA. Then our entire time in the room the air conditioner would not get the room below 77°. That day, it was 84° outside. I took the shower head off and cleaned all the pipe deposits out. Still, less than half of the shower head would spray. Are the shower heads from the original construction? The next morning when we told the desk clerk about our room, they just looked at us, silent. That was it, no response, no apology, nothing not even an attempt to come up with some hollow excuse. We were simply shocked to stay in a Hilton that was in this type of sad condition. It is not what we have experienced at other Hilton's. Maybe it is a West Virginia thing, I dunno. Maybe they wanted more Garden and less Hilton.

It is a very place. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean with nice amenities. There was a mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. There was cable . The room was quiet with a comfortable bed . They had night stands , phone chargers . The restroom was clean with a nice hot shower . The towels were soft . There was neutrogena shampoo, conditioner and lotion . There is a restaurant with an attentive staff . There is also a hot tub and a pool . I would recommend this place and would stay there again.

Incredibly courteous and polite staff! With all of the selections, let's just say there is plenty to choose from.  The location is super convenient... Kudos to the all the staff/s. We will definitely return again and again and again! Two negatives, parking is extremely tight for a pickup truck and some light from the parking lamp posts will filter into you room on the rear side (2nd floor) However, I would still give more than 5 stars if possible.

I am so delighted with the staff here. They are wonderful. The lobby is beautiful and the pool is open early and has a jacuzzi. The rooms are utterly abysmal. They are like quality inn level. Stark difference between the lobby and the rooms. The TV is so small I had to move it 6’ closer (pictured) and it’s still small. Not a smart tv so I had to buy a Roku. NBD. I love the location and the service, it’s also quiet so I’m not complaining or moving. Unless there’s a Marriott in this complex. The AC is louder than any I’ve heard before and I’ve heard lots as I live on the road.

One of the best customer service experiences I’ve had during my travels. First, Erica made my day, every morning; she was always chipper and greeted me by my first name, every morning! Second, Hannah provided great customer service at the restaurant once I returned to the hotel, for the entire week. These two provided a great experience for me during my stay and will always chose this hotel over any other in Morgantown. Great job you two!!

Decent room. Shower stall ONLY, which did NOT work with a disabled SO who needs to sit down to bathe. They didn't even have proper shower chairs. Also, DON'T eat breakfast there. I've eaten at major restaurants that cost less and made MUCH better food. Good grief.

Upon arrival I informed the hotel desk staff the refrigerator in my room was not working and I needed it replaced immediately because I had insulin that needed to be kept cold. They said they would see what they could do and would call me back. Two hours later I Iter I went to the desk to follow up as I had not received any call back. I was told there no extra refrigerators and I could put my insulin in the refrigerator in the lobby. I am sure I don't need to go into the details as to why a diabetic would need to keep their medication in their possession. Not to mention a refrigerator is an advertised amenity and should be operational. I requested they give me a working refrigerator from an empty room. The day desk person refused. I put my insulin in a cooler on ice and left for the evening as I was in town for an event. When I returned later that night there was a new person at the desk who did accommodate the replacement of the refrigerator, apologized and said that the previous manager should have taken care of the request but this was well after midnight or later. The inconvenience of having to do this at that hour is unacceptable. Upon checkout I learned that one of the persons in my party found bedbugs in their room. I was in that room and exposed. I called the hotel 7am 4/24/23 to report my exposure and the itching I had been feeling and thought to be dry skin or allergies and was told I would receive a call by noon on 4/24. When I did not receive any follow up I called again in the evening and was again told I would receive a call that has still not come. Unlike my companions in Morgantown, I did not go home, I left Morgantown straight to a business trip where I don't have the ability to clean my clothes to ensure elimination. Also, my bathroom had a sour smell that air freshener would not eliminate. I was going to let the smell and even the medical accommodation refusal go it was not worth my time until I learned I had also been exposed to bed bugs. I would never recommend this hotel....

Stayed here for work and loved the hospitality of all the staff I had interactions with. Enjoyed the gym and breakfast in the mornings. Rooms are nice for a stay, but I had issues. The floor was dirty. When I walked barefoot and got in the shower you can see the dirt that came off my feet as soon as I stepped in the shower. I found and killed a couple undesirable bugs in my room. Besides those things, I loved my stay here...great location! Lots of close places to walk to in a next door plaza.

A+ on the location and the convenience of shopping directly across the street, and I mean that it's all physically across the street. Beautiful Garden Inn. Inside the room was immaculate. Sheets, Pillows, bed linen, Shower, Toilet, Iron, and sink. I was too busy to dine that evening or the next day for breakfast, although that was the plan. Clean and sleek. The layout is just as the photos appear online. I travel frequently for business and I can say, I honestly hate hotels because the majority (regardless of name-status) will not be the same as my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn last week. I got a good night's sleep and a very good shower (2x) in room # 215. Dedicated Service. The staff was phenomenal all around. From check-in to check-out, Top Class! If I were not on business I would have had to ask my receptionist to marry me, regardless of yes or no, that woman touched my spirit. Excellence all around and Farewell until my next visit to Morgantown, WV.

I travel for work about half the year, staying in locations for several months at a time routinely. Of course, when you're there for that long, you're going to have issues. I've been here at the Hilton Garden Inn in Morgantown for the last month, and I've not found a single issue that wasn't immediately addressed and corrected. The small things I had were of such small consequence they're not worth mentioning, only doing so to praise the staff for how responsive they are. The amenities of the hotel are great, and the location and closeness to everything you need is wonderful. My room was very clean, with everything working as it should. While I'm partial to the Hilton chain in general, I have to say the thing that stands out the most about this hotel is the staff. In most hotels, there's usually that one person that is difficult to deal with, a couple that aren't quite grumpy, but aren't happy either, and then a couple that have good personalities and seem genuinely friendly. Here in Morgantown, every single person seems to be super friendly, and as helpful as anyone could ask for. They all seem to be happy to help out in any way they can. It's great to be greeted so warmly after working a 13 hour day. The little things make a difference, and this place does the little things as well as the big things.

I stay at this location at least once every other month. The hotel is in a great location, conveniently located close to WVU hospitals. There are tons of food options and a grocery store within walking distance. What I appreciate the most about this hotel is the customer service. CJ, Zach and Anna have always gone above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable during my stay. I appreciate that so much!

Great overnight hotel. Rooms are comfy and clean. Staff is great and its close to the highway. Have stayed here 5-6 times now on route to South Carolina and Florida as well on the way home.

Had an amazing experience staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. Everything was great, but Julia at the front desk made our trip truly memorable. She went above and beyond to help us out when we needed it. Her efforts really made a huge difference. Thanks again, Julia!

The Hilton Garden Inn hosted over 40 swimmers and their families for a weekend as our travel team came from Maryland to compete at a swim invitational. Their sales staff, especially Jolene, were extremely helpful, going out of their way to make my team comfortable and taken care of during our stay. Housekeeping was prompt, rooms were nicely appointed, and daily service by the staff was always kind and courteous. The hotel is nicely situated among housing and shopping. I didn’t hear a single complaint about the hotel or accommodations from a single traveler in my group. I highly recommend this hotel!

Rooms need serious updating! Beds are comfortable, shower has good water pressure. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location! Breakfast is NOT worth the money.

The facility is very nice. The lobby area is beautiful, and sets you up to expect a five-star room. While our room was nice, the shower was terrible. Terrible asian, should have been a full room refund - terrible. While checking out the person at the desk told me that she would be sure to notify maintenance about the shower (which did nothing for me). Oh well. Maybe the other rooms are nicer. This was possibly my first time at a "Hilton" (best I can remember). I was expecting more.

The front staff was extremely unprofessional. They did not properly welcome or greet us upon arrival. One was wearing a crop top shirt and did not provide any details about the stay, where the elevators were, breakfast, or any other hotel details. The room we stayed in was not properly cleaned. There were raisins on the closet floor that at first glance appeared to be roaches. The bathroom had shaving hairs around the sink. This location is due for renovations in 2023 according to a sign by the elevators, and it’s well past due. The only good part about this hotel was the location to shopping, restaurants, and the WVU campus. I would not recommend this hotel until a deep clean and renovations happen, and I won’t be staying here again unless and until both occur.

We were there because of a Dr's appointment the next morning. The check-in person was very nice. The room was ok, the bathroom is big enough for one person at a time. The fridge is a MINI FRIDGE. . So the place was nice but price when you have to pay for your breakfast on top of the price of the cost of the price of the room. The one thing that is good about the place is the location of where it is to the Dr's office.

Tonight I stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Morgantown. I normally stay at La Quinta Inn and Suites but due to swim meets in town, the Hilton got my attention AND I AM SO GLAD!!! The lobby is gorgeous and so clean & modern!!! There is a large restaurant area, bar area and seating near lovely fireplace. At check in make sure you get your Hilton Honor free reward points by signing up. Also free welcome bag with bottled water. My room on second floor was extremely lovely. No free breakfast but large restaurant available plus hotel is located near several other restaurants and shoppes. Indoor pool and hot tub until 11pm. 24 Gym and Business center with roomy walk in showers and amazing comfortable beds. Not to mention multiple HBO and Cinemax channels...very pleased and DEFINITELY STAYING AGAIN!!!! OH and the stage like Casey AMAZING and Super Friendly!!! Loved my experience at the Hilton!!!! Thanks Paris!!!!

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. As a frequent traveler, I value great service. I gravitate towards places that make me feel like family because traveling alone gets lonely. Erica, my breakfast server, was awesome. She remembered my name and what I liked to eat. She talked to me as though I were her sister visiting at home, not at a hotel restaurant. It takes a special person to be that cheerful and kind that early in the morning! I’ll be returning to this hotel on my next visit to Morgantown!

This might be a little long, but I need to let people know how great this hotel is. Our grandson was in Ruby Children's Hospital and we stayed 4 nights at HG. The staff, knowing our situation, went above and beyond to show compassion and caring. Special S/O to Tyler, David, and CJ at the front desk. Every day they would ask how our grandson was. The room was spotless too. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and Go Mountaineers!

Room was very dirty. Shower dirty, dust all in corners of room and carpet, look like pop or coffee was splattered on the wall beside bed. We paid $246.00 for one night, had it not been so late when we arrived, I would have checked out and went somewhere else. Guy at the front desk was friendly during our check in and the lobby looked nice/clean but room was nasty and bed was very uncomfortable.

Hilton diamond club member and yet not one single acknowledgment of that at any time during our stay. And it must have been logged in somewhere because when I got home we got a survey emailed asking if we enjoyed our stay and the diamond perks. The carpeting…yowza… the lobby looks great, please recarpet the entire rest of the hotel. It is absolutely filthy in the hallways are a completely different style than the lobby. Also, if you’re going to put a microwave in the room, please also put a couple packs of the “napkin, fork, knife, spoon” combos. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the ac unit is REALLY LOUD. The lobby is clean and bright. I didn’t make use of any of the food options. The location is very handy - walked to restaurants and the Kroger for some snacks for the fridge.

Friendly, responsive staff. Great attention to cleaning, health protocols. Very convenient location (WVU and Medical). The hotel is getting old. Carpet in hallways is gross. Room has oder of cigarettes (residual on curtains, carpet). Corners of carpet never vacuumed. Shower door leaks.

The previous occupant had smoked in the room we needed. We were traveling with children and needed adjoining rooms. Unfortunately, there were no other connecting rooms available for the first night of our stay. The staff, including Tyler the front desk attendant, and the head of housekeeping, went above and beyond to explain the steps taken and did everything in their power to make the room acceptable. We were shown the room (204) and the smell was quite overwhelming, I had never smelled such a strong smoke smell before, the staff stayed in contact with us as they ran the ozone machine and cleaned the room thoroughly. We were able to use the adjoining room until late in the evening when all that could be done was finished in the smoke-filled room. However, the smell remained, astonishing all involved; normally a machine such as the one used would clear the smell in as little as 45 minutes. I was grateful that the room was not the one my children would stay in, but I was certain I would get used to the smell and would hopefully not notice it after being in the room for a while. However, this was not the case; I even tried sleeping in a mask and could smell the horrible stench through it. Unable to sleep I went back to the adjoining room to sit until time to get ready for our day. The hotel had occupants check out of additional connecting rooms and we were able to move into those for the second night of our stay. We are very grateful for the cleaning staff and for Tyler, the desk clerk who was not only very helpful, but a pleasure to talk to as well. We would not usually stay in a hotel again after such a bad night, but because the staff was so wonderful, we will return, we understand the smell was out of their control. Thank you.

    1. Hotel room had bad smelling 2. Hotel front Desk receptionist was not present when I checked inn. Waited for 15 mins . 3. There was no Luggage Cart available, when requested the hotel receptionist he went somewhere and came back saying can’t find one. 4. Paid Breakfast is waste of money. Really poor service and will not visit Hilton group going forward.

The hotel staff was great and helpful, the location is ce tral to tons of things to do and food places to boot. Our room was the main issue. The water pressure was virtually non-existent and barely got above lukewarm. The shower door was strange too and had to be lifted into place.

  • 4/5 Robert G. 2 years ago on Google
Great lobby, great staff, great location, good prices. Only complaint is that the rooms are mildly dingy and feel like they haven't been updated in the last twenty years. But, for the price, that's perfectly acceptable. Recommended.

TWICE I’ve come here for a business trip and TWIce I’ve had dirty rooms. Mold in the bathroom and the carpet is very dirty. This last visit had popcorn seeds along the edges of the carpet. My first visit had a ton of filth and dust. So disappointed! Gave a second chance thinking it was a one off issue but nope. This is a very dirty hotel and no pride of ownership shows anywhere. Apparently they had a ton of leaks as is evidenced by the water stains in the hallways. Worst though, is the mold in the bathrooms. The only positive here is the customer service.

I travel to Morgantown to see my Neurosurgeons. Our last stay was terrific. We were very THANKFUL For the shuttle service. He took amazing care of us! Also, your management was wonderful including ALL staff. We only stay at Hiltons ... I have to say that IVE never had a better breakfast. That chef knows how to make the most PERFECT OM eggs! Coming back soon for 2 more surgeries.. looking forward to seeing friendly faces!
