The
previous
occupant
had
smoked
in
the
room
we
needed.
We
were
traveling
with
children
and
needed
adjoining
rooms.
Unfortunately,
there
were
no
other
connecting
rooms
available
for
the
first
night
of
our
stay.
The
staff,
including
Tyler
the
front
desk
attendant,
and
the
head
of
housekeeping,
went
above
and
beyond
to
explain
the
steps
taken
and
did
everything
in
their
power
to
make
the
room
acceptable.
We
were
shown
the
room
(204)
and
the
smell
was
quite
overwhelming,
I
had
never
smelled
such
a
strong
smoke
smell
before,
the
staff
stayed
in
contact
with
us
as
they
ran
the
ozone
machine
and
cleaned
the
room
thoroughly.
We
were
able
to
use
the
adjoining
room
until
late
in
the
evening
when
all
that
could
be
done
was
finished
in
the
smoke-filled
room.
However,
the
smell
remained,
astonishing
all
involved;
normally
a
machine
such
as
the
one
used
would
clear
the
smell
in
as
little
as
45
minutes.
I
was
grateful
that
the
room
was
not
the
one
my
children
would
stay
in,
but
I
was
certain
I
would
get
used
to
the
smell
and
would
hopefully
not
notice
it
after
being
in
the
room
for
a
while.
However,
this
was
not
the
case;
I
even
tried
sleeping
in
a
mask
and
could
smell
the
horrible
stench
through
it.
Unable
to
sleep
I
went
back
to
the
adjoining
room
to
sit
until
time
to
get
ready
for
our
day.
The
hotel
had
occupants
check
out
of
additional
connecting
rooms
and
we
were
able
to
move
into
those
for
the
second
night
of
our
stay.
We
are
very
grateful
for
the
cleaning
staff
and
for
Tyler,
the
desk
clerk
who
was
not
only
very
helpful,
but
a
pleasure
to
talk
to
as
well.
We
would
not
usually
stay
in
a
hotel
again
after
such
a
bad
night,
but
because
the
staff
was
so
wonderful,
we
will
return,
we
understand
the
smell
was
out
of
their
control.
Thank
you.
