Great place to park and eat and a quick meal in the car! Usually there's a lot of beautiful swans around.

Always relax here. Nice little community beach park at the end of parkview drive in shirley. The park is really on grandview drive and is normally accessible most times being all year round. It is closed with the gates and locks on most late evenings, they're pretty consistent with this throughout the years. While here, you can relax in your car looking at the subtle sea waves coming in while sniffing in that fresh sea breeze. Or, you can stand outside, walk along the short beach line and feel the sand in your toes a bit or pass the time with your child at the lovely play and garden area right next in the same compound. The playground is also equipt with a water park theme and capabilities, be sure to go when it gets hot.

First time there after seeing so many posts and reviews (it's smaller then I thought) but very cute and clean. We got lucky and it wasn't to crowded. We will be back!

Smokers are not bad people but on the beach the beach is a place to take time out to enjoy the fine nature nature gave us so breathing salt bathing sun bathing is so energizing I wish us smokers can take your habits just for a little while and leave it on your front porch there isn't much time for some of us to enjoy that misty salt water in the air the clean breeze and the children definitely deserve it 100 percent of the time while their brains are developing for actually 25 years this info I just found out a week ago .....

Go for the sprinkler park for sure but just know the beach is disgusting (tons of rotting seaweed and nasty swan poops), playground non existent except swings but there's a pretty cool sprinkler park. Small but fun and free. Bathroom is open seasonally only. Unlike some sprinkler parks there is nobody there check if you belong to this Township. Anyone can park and enjoy the sprinkler park or the beach. Just be aware if you come that you should probably bring some folding chairs because there are only two picnic tables available. Also it is open to the street and not fully gated so keep an eye on younger children. Nice view of bay and lots of swans though.

It’s not even a beach A thin short stripe of the coast with pebble stinks as a slough and full of seaweed Don’t waste your time if you’re not from this neighborhood

Nice area, although playground was changed to water park area, so best not to go during the winter of fall, other than that a nice place, calm veiw, and nice to relax and look at the sunset as the sun goes down

Scenic and calming. That's 4 stars alone.. The sunsets are amazing. The wildlife [geese, swans, ducks] is great. Low tide? It gets stinky.

I've never found a beach I didn't love! For me it's the sound of the waves, the seagulls making their noises and the sunshine. I find it all tremendously relaxing but I wasn't prepared for what I found at Shirley Beach! There's sand but only way underneath the ping pong to baseball size rocks! Try putting a towel down & lying on that! In addition, from the bulkhead to the water if you're 6 feet tall your feet will be in the water - so you'll need to lie sideways! There's a very small splash park for kids behind the beach with a grassy area that I moved to that was more comfortable. I was only in the area visiting family, and after paying Smithpoint Park/Beach $20 daily parking fee the prior day - I decided to try Shirley Beach and that was my experience!

My favorite part besides the beach area was the kids water park area. My neices and nephews loved it. It was very clean also.

This is turning into an extremely bad location and potentially dangerous too. Those in the water, at the playground area, or on the beach are likely safe, but the parking lot is turning into a medium to high risk experience. Our latest encounter involved a couple that appeared to be junkies shooting up in the parking lot. The woman opened her car door and slinked onto the ground passing out against the running board and open passenger door. When they finally came to, he sent her out to find sugar packs from anyone that would listen. If you don't know why a junkie would be craiving sugar packs, go look it up. The police had been called earlier, but we were told their response was that as long as these two weren't going to drive, that they were fine where they were. The kayak launch area is poorly maintained, even after repeated requests to park staff. At this point it's just a matter of time before somebody accidentally falls off and hurts themselves.

It was quiet, we stopped by for 20 minutes, we didn't have time to take a swim in the water. Maybe next time.

A little jewel tucked away. Quiet, calm & free! Great view of the "new Old Inlet".

Great little beach to launch kayak from. Has a cute little splash park for the kids.

Nice spray park for the kids and a nice little sandy beach. My biggest complaint was that the restrooms were LOCKED and there was no place for the children to go to the bathroom!

An amazing place to see the sunset, also a little park for kids. Its really hard to enjoy it now because there’s always someone smoking weed (in a public place and where there’s always children around!)

Nice little sprinkler and small kiddie park. Maybe 6 years and younger kids is good for. Water is highhhhhh, not good to go inside. Sand is maybe 3 feet. Parking lot is so small also

Today's visit was crowded, but worth it. Great weather and of course the children had a blast at the splash pad. The beach is definitely not the best, water is very dirty dead fish and crabs on shore. But we were there for the water pad area. Bathrooms are as clean as can be for a public park. Parking is very scarse being that the park is in a residential area.

Children's water park. Could use more shade for adults to sit under. Nice place for young children.

Splash park is awesome for the kids. Fishy smell on the beach but nice views of bellport bay. Swans gang is beautiful but dont get to close. They get nasty.

The beach area is full of glass so beware but the water park are nice and clean and it's cool the bathrooms are open but they don't get cleaned too often, I went there and next day I went again and there was a tampon I saw the day before, ( kinda gross).

The new splash pad is awesome! Perfect for kids & adults alike. Mr. Softie (Ice Cream Truck) stops by frequently, and the view of the bay is excellent. It is the bay, so no big waves really, and it can smell at low tide (thats how it be), bring water shoes, it is more of a rocky beach for sure!

Beautiful local beach with fun water park for the little ones - still needs a little attention to be at its full glory.
