I really enjoyed everything about this place. The vibe and decor were fantastic. The staff was beyond amazing. I had so much fun laughing and talking with the staff. It was a very welcoming place. Now for the delicious part...the food was phenomenal! I've never had spicy cucumbers before but it's something I need more of in my life. The spring rolls were cooked to perfection as well as the green beans. Oh and the fabulous bartender was spot on with the drinks. They do have a happy hour menu when you sit at the bar. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

Food is not worth it for the price. Chili Dumplings were extremely disappointing, maybe 1 inch of meat, not even 1 inch maybe. Chili wonton had more meat but the Chili oil is still overused and abused and not flavorful in every dish I had there. We really wanted lo mein and they didn't have any lo mein available on this past Sunday when we went. Pretty disappointed by the food. Even the mapo tofu was not flavorful enough although it looked pleasant. Everything was drenched in chili oil. Seating upstairs is uncomfortable and also our waiter didn't know anything about the menu. We asked questions about what was the most popular thing on the menu and he said he "hopes so." I wouldn't come here again to be honest. I think they're trying to copy szchuan style food with the Chili oil but honestly failed pretty hard with it. I'm definitely going to stick with chili Szechuan in university city next time. Chicken dumplings were good but the pictures show more it isn't consistent with how many they gave us.

We came at 7pm on a Sunday and they were able to seat us right away either at the bar or outside. We sat at the bar, menus were via QR code. We went with Dumplings in Chili Oil for our app, great dumplings and very spicy chili oil! We got the Dan Dan Noodles and Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup to share. the Dan Dan Noodles were spicy with a sesame sauce mixed in, delicious! Beef noodle soup was great too, delicious broth. We would definitely come back again to try other things on the menu!

Delicious! First time at this restaurant. Had lunch with a few of my coworkers and it was a good choice. The Wait Staff were friendly and on top of things. Food is served as its prepared so if you have more than one person and each person orders a different entree, they may not get their dish at the same time. The food was very flavorful and the portions are good. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for Asian cuisine. My entree in the pic is the Garlic Sauce Dish chicken and the table receives a bowl of rice to share.

DanDan never disappoints! We always get takeout after returning from a trip. Noodle dishes and house special fried rice were delicious, as always. I will say spring rolls and scallion pancakes could have been crispier.

DanDan Rittenhouse is a little gem in the Center City area. Whether you dine in, carry out, or get delivery, expect flavorful food. I typically get the Dandan noodles but this time I was trying something new. I got the dry pepper dish with chicken while my girlfriend got the spicy beef hand-ripped noodles. We also got an order of spring rolls (2 per order) and Taiwanese minced pork rice. Everything tasted good; the menu does a great job of giving an expected spice rating. Delivery from DoorDash was quite fast this time which helped since we had decided on DanDan rather last minute.

Amazing happy hour on the first floor! Lots of seating around the bar. Super friendly staff, fast service, and really delicious food! Rick was very attentive in helping us order each of our choices. Their slice levels are no joke! But most everything can be ordered with little or no spice. Highly recommend!!!

Dan Dan Rittenhouse is one of my favorite spots. Their Szechuan Chilli Oil is very delicious. The Szechuan Pot is a lot of food, spicy and amazing. The chilli dumplings and wontons are both excellent. The Spicy Cucumbers are surprisingly, very good. For alcoholic drinks, the Guava Fizz and Phoenix down are very good. A must try if you are in the area and like Szechuan style foods.

Wanted some flavor kicking Chinese and ordered DanDan. The noodles were a bit dry but I loved the Dry pepper dish with chicken. Great flavor balance and not too shy with the heat.

I think taste is redesigned for American, not traditional Taiwanese taste. Not bad, I think American should like it

Delicious pan Asian food known for their “Dan Dan” noodles and fried rice. Great for a date night or take out.

Every time I’ve been here, the food was really amazing. At the beginning of our service, the waitress was very nice and gave a great suggestion when I asked what dish she’d recommend. And then after she took our order, she disappeared. We had to go to the host to ask for to-go boxes and for our check because she never came back to our table. While I could have suffered through that, the fact that the water bottles they provided had MILDEW around the rim was absolutely disgusting. And they leave the bottles at the table for patrons to serve themselves from!! Seriously how terrible. I imagine every single bottle is like this and I feel bad for everyone who drank from them without realizing. Hoping this serious issue gets taken care of promptly.

The service at the bar was great! The bartender was very friendly and had some great recommendations. The spicy cucumbers were addicting, and the spicy aromatic pot was excellent. This place a must-try and we'll definitely be back!

The food here was really good. Portion sizes are pretty big, a lot bigger than I expected. Very nice place. Service was a little slow but nothing to be alarmed about. Would come back for sure.

My daughter wanted to try some dumplings in chili oil and my oldest went on a hunt to look for a location. So glad she found this GEM! By far my favorite restaurant while in Philly hands down. I already miss not being able to go back. Let me give you a break down of everything we ordered 🤗 For starters we went with the Pork Dumpling In Chili Oil…omg absolutely amazing cooked beautifully to perfection! We then had Scallion Pancakes, they were nice and flaky with the nice golden brown color…(I also paired it with another one of our meals). We then ordered the Garlic Sauce Chicken…wow, what an incredible choice that was! We think that it would be paired perfectly with some white rice, however, we had the scallion pancakes, so I paired it with that and it was great. Guest sitting closed to us got their order and I noticed one of their dishes of noodles and I was intrigued! I had to ask the bartender what it was that they were eating…he stated the DanDan Noodles, welp I went ahead and ordered some for our family! That was the best choice I made 🤤 these noodles are seasoned to perfection the spice level is a little spicy for me, but in a good way…you just have to try it for yourself. Lastly, we ordered the Spicy Beef Hand-Ripped Noodles and they were delicious the beef has a little more fat for my liking but that is what gives it the flavor, so I was not disappointed. Overall, an excellent experience with great customer service and a cozy environment! If I ever find myself back in Philly, I will definitely be back to patronize this establishment!!!

My first time was ok. I wasn’t wowed by the noodles like I expected to be. I actually didn’t like the dandan noodles at all & swapped it for what is pictured. The server was so kind & insisted to switch it out. My cocktail was delicious & so were the spring rolls.

came here for dandan noodles. got dandan noodles. happy with the dandan noodles. also got scallion pancakes 7.5/10. nothing amazing but met expectations. i LOVED the noodles in the cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles. idk who ripped them but the texture was amazing and it soaked up all the good flavor.. or maybe i just like wide large noodles 🤔 good quality food at a reasonable price and great location. if i move to this area, i would be a regular.

Very nice ambience! Delicious food. The traditional Dan Dan noodles were a bit on the spicier side, note if your tolerance is low.

Let's start by saying the food was very nice and we had no complaints of our dishes as generally mildly spicy Asian styled food. We had the dandan noodles which were nicely nutty and mildly spicy, but not really numbing at all. Level three spicy. We also had the spicy aromatic pot. Level four spicy. In the Chinese name of the dish it claims to be mala which means spicy and numbing as Szechuan food should be. We detected no real usage of Szechuan pepper in either dishes and the dandan was actually a bit spicier than the pot. Having eaten Szechuan food for years, cooked by my partner who is from the area and who also enjoyed this meal with us I'd say it was much more Taiwanese than it was Szechuan. Lovely food, cannot call it quite authentic.

It’s a cute, cozy restaurant in the downtown Philly. Overall service can be pretty slow so will recommend to plan accordingly. The food was decent but I found it to be a bit oily. I still don’t understand the hype about this restaurant.

Spontaneous find! Went with the house specialty Dan Dan noodles. Delicious!! The staff is super friendly, I highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you chef! Update** Lunch was so good, I decided to come back for dinner. I ordered the cumin lamb with the hand ripped noodles, OMG- my taste buds are in heaven and so am I!!! Kate on the bar was super friendly along with the rest of the staff!! Thanks again Chef!

If you have been to Haan Dynasty, this place is pretty much their twin with the same Sichuanese dishes, maybe even more. Ordered their signature moscow mule variant for drinks and for food we ordered Dry Pepper Chicken and Cumin Lamb Hand Ripped Noodles and they did not disappoint! We were initially going to get the Dan Dan noodles instead of cumin lamb but the server recommended the cumin lamb instead. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey taste and prefer beef more, but their lamb was well spiced and it was enjoyable! The dry pepper chicken tasted similar to Haan Dynasty but had sliced garlic in it which I loved. I love Sichuanese food and this place did not let me down. Since this restaurant is pretty compact, I would definitely recommend reserving in advance in order to get a table. We didn't reserve so we sat by the bar instead.

Excellent Chinese restaurant in the Rittenhouse area. They have lots of traditional Szechuan dishes which was a delight! I had the Cumin Lamb Noodles. Spiced excellently and a good amount of peppers and noodles! I ordered online, the process was easy and the food was ready on time! Overall a great experience and excellent food!

Wow! Doesn’t just live up to the hype but surpasses it. I ordered multiple small plates and a main which is a FEAST since each of the smalls alone is a generous enough to be a small meal. The spice level is fabulous 🔥 and the flavor is complex and tantalizing. The motivation for my review was really the beef tendon which is EXQUISITE. It’s cool and refreshing while also fiery and numbing. It has a perfect amount of salt and the tendon is shaved so thin and tender, it’s truly immaculate. Everything else has been fabulous too perhaps maybe with the exception of the scallion pancakes which are (dare I say?) a bit too flaky and crisp for my tastes, which is honestly a wild thing to complain about in a takeout order, so do with that what you will.

Amazing, flavorful Sichuan and Taiwanese food! My favorite were the noodles—they were warm, had a perfect level of spice, and a great thickness. It wasn’t even too heavy, so I felt like I could eat a ton of it. The cucumbers were also fantastic and spicy. Of course, the scallion pancakes were excellent as well. Can’t go wrong with what you order here!

Came at 7pm on a Wednesday for a last minute dinner. We’re able to get seated upstairs in their pretty loft-like area. Our waitress was great! We got the spicy beef and cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles and though we wanted to have leftovers we both cleaned our plates. Not the most photogenic food, but it was delicious!!

An interesting but not authentic Sichuan restaurant. It’s great that most things on their menu can be made gluten free, but flavors were just off. The sesame noodles had more minced garlic than sesame, and the Sichuan farmers dry pot lamb was swimming in a sweet and spicy sauce. Service was decent but the waitress had to keep running up and down the stairs which seemed rough.

Food was delicious and flavorful. Can customize the spiciness according to your taste. The place was almost packed on a weekday. So would recommend booking ahead if possible. Very warm and cozy atmosphere. The servers took care of us well and were friendly. The service was also fast. Would definitely recommend.

The service was amazing. Each table had its own hand sanitizer and a big glass container of water to refill your glass, which I really appreciate. The portion size on the pasta dish we ordered was huge (almost too much for two people, definitely designed to share) while the appetizers were about the size you would expect. The food itself was okay.

The food was fantastic. The staff was very accommodating with regards to accessibility of the restaurant. Service was quick. The prices are very reasonable and the menu has a good variety of Szechuan and Taiwanese foods. Great place for a sit down meal!

We stopped here on our walk to a music festival and had the most delicious dinner & drinks! We even ended up there at happy hour which made it even better (4-6). We had the best service and experience at this neat little spot and would recommend to anyone I know visiting Philly!! A+ service food and drinks!

Definitely my Goto Taiwanese food and Sichuan food. A lot of their dishes actually taste authentic! Must order their spicy oil wonton and their pumpkin spice noodles. If you’re in to spicy food, their spicy fried chicken is also really good.
