This food is amazing, rich as hell, and will destroy you. The best play is to go with friends, each order a whole sandwich, and share halves or quarters.

Food was terrible! Unseasoned, not anything I would ever order again. Heck, I will never go again. Ordered fries, never received them, chicken wings, unseasoned and not deep fried as the menu stated almost raw. Macaroni and cheese, missing any cheese. Peach mimosa finally came and it was orange and nasty. The waitress acted clueless.

I just waited an extra 40 minutes on top of a 20 minute wait for this crusty luke warm cheese toast. The only reason for any stars is because the people working were very kind. Y'all, do better...

Absolutely stuffed! Stopped by for lunch. Went for the Lake Eerie Monster. A fried cod fillet topped with slaw. Side of fries and jalapeno ranch dip. Great crunch to the fillet. Perfectly toasted bread. Nice smooth creamy sauce.

First time here. We are not from here, so it's unlikely to come back for that one reason. If we lived in Ohio, we'd definitely come back. Food was delicious. Stella the server/bartender was fabulous. Food was delicious.

My husband and I tried this place because it was close to our hotel and it did NOT disappoint. The food was AMAZING, the best sandwiches I've ever had! Everything was pricey... But it was well worth it! Highly recommend!

I went out of my way to go here during a trip after seeing a Tiktok recommend a particularly stunning sandwich. Unfortunately it was seasonal but I went with one that still sounded delicious. Grilled cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms, garlic aioli. Some of my FAVORITE flavors, can't go wrong? Well, it was pretty bad. I don't like to assume this is standard so I rarely leave a 1 star review but I was close. Caramelized onions - barely just lightly sautéed at best, hardly worth claiming the richness caramelized onions bring Mushrooms - I dare wonder if canned? Garlic aioli - I honestly didn't taste any garlic, just felt like a mayo sauce (NO I didn't have COVID you may be wondering at this point, other dishes that day had plenty of taste) Bread - Not buttery, soggy mostly honestly from the meats sauce Temperature - not even very hot, "warm" at best I'm surprised by so many 5 stars and have to wonder if my experience was unusual. They were NOT busy, like literally only ONE other person at the restaurant. The server mostly talked with them (they seemed to be friends) and was not very attentive (to which I think explains my not-so-hot and a bit soggy sandwich). We had chocolate milk for drinks and it was the first I've seen it served in a restaurant like a 5 year old makes it at home - chocolate syrup in a cup with milk. I was SO excited and then SO disappointed, definitely wouldn't go back.

I ordered 3 vegan mac and cheese through Uber Eats from this restaurant. What I received was just boiled pasta. The restaurant said their vegan cheese sauce is thinner than the regular sauce. I tasted the pasta and it was just boiled pasta. Maybe their vegan cheese sauce evaporated into thin air.

Melt specialize in grill cheese sandwiches but the tomato soup was the highlight of my meal. Super rich and packed with flavor. The restaurant has a dive bar vibe in a good way. Colorful and full of interesting things.

Not impressed. Waited 10 minutes for waitress to come to table after seated. Ordered a burger and fries. I must of got bottom of the bag fries because they were all little crumbs. Waitress mixed up credit cards for the table even after we’re attached them to the 2 appropriate clipboards provided. Not going back.

I have tried several times to give them a chance thinking every business has bad days. But it never fails their food is just not as good as everyone makes it out to be. I have experienced cold food, microwaved food when asked not to, items requested to be not added due to severe allergies, rude employees and not willing to offer any type of of remaking of food or offering something different by management each visit totaling 8 separate visits. Would not recommend nor would I ever go back again.

Coming in hot with a hot review with my hot Mac and cheese oh my gosh five star. Kid friendly. Great staff. No wait times. Went for lunch at 12.30. You can really make whatever you want! They took the challenge of the menu for now but if you special request it they’ll set something up. Not too loud. Just a peaceful experience. Great study break lunch!!

Food was very bland and overall not very appetizing. Service was average. The slaw I had was very chunky, seemed to be missing some ingredients, looked and tasted like chunky cabbage with rings of raw onion and malt vinegar mixed in. I asked for a banana and the served me a hard green banana for a baby. Overall my experience was not great and maybe need to try them another time.

So yummy! I love the vegan options. French onion soup is my favorite and one of my saddest partings when I became vegetarian. The buffalo wings are tofu instead of cauliflower so it still has a good amount of protein.

Who doesn’t love grilled cheese everything! I’ve been coming to the Melt since they opened and it never disappoints! The menu is ever evolving and they are always experimenting with awesome food combos! I’d highly recommend the Dudes Abides or the Parma, Italy!

I picked up an order on the way to the airport on my way out of town after a Ohio friend raved about it. Food was cold even though i picked it up when they told me it would be ready, and it was extremely greasy. I ended up throwing away most of it uneaten because of how gross it was. I called them and was told the manager wasn’t in and I likely wouldn’t get a refund, and offered a credit instead. I don’t live here so didn’t see the point. Waste of $22 and a terrible last meal to eat on my trip. Would not recommend.

It was my first time having melt, and it was great! The portions are large, a lot of flavor in it. The only imperfection to me is the restaurant is a bit too dark and it was hard for me to read the menu. All in all it's till 5 stars no doubt

Hello, I traveled from out of town to see friends and family. The atmosphere was fantastic! Please don't be confused by the menu. Because there are so many vegan alternatives, they even have a separate vegan menu. We are a vegan family. Neither of the vegan options is vegan. Everything is cooked in the same grease as the meat products. Please do not be confused or deceived. You also know that if you haven't eaten meat in years, your stomach will hurt immediately. Please be cautious when making meal choices.

This place is just sad now. The food used to be good you used to get more food and bigger portions and the menus were way better when they were on record covers. Years and years ago I used to looove going here then it seemed like as soon as they started opening more and more locations they just started not caring. Other than the less food and smaller portions it also doesn't taste the same. I'm not sure what they changed there but it's just not as good. Nothing about the place is as good. Sad how a restaurant can grow and expand but at the same time forget what's important. Haven't been in a while and don't see myself ever going back. The 3 stars and higher on here have got to be from people that didn't go there until within the last handful of years and don't know how good it used to be here

Went for the Clevelander’s experience and we were not disappointed. The service was phenomenal! Our host Tyler was patient and attentive, always thinking one step ahead to meet all possible needs. Food was great too. The Monte was a perfect balance of savory and sweet, pretty unique with ham as the filling and sugar powder on top and strawberry dipping sauce on the side. The fish fillet in the Lake Erie Monster was a large chunk - crunchy on the outside and juicy inside. Only wish the cheese melt could be warmer so that it could be more cheesy :) All in all, a satisfying experience.

I was vacationing in Cleveland and got recommendations from several locals and others who had visited the city to eat at Melt Bar and Grilled. I was not disappointed! The vibe was very cool and the food was delicious! I had ordered "The Dude Abides" grilled cheese which was a meatball mozzarella one. My boyfriend had ordered the chorizo and hash grilled cheese, which he also loved! Fries were good too! They had a very good spicy sauce to dip the fries in as well. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out!

I was skeptical before going in but was very impressed by the time I left. My daughter and wife had grilled cheese sandwiches while I had the breakfast burger. All were delicious and plenty for a meal. The tomato soup was excellent as well.

Supremely disappointing meal. Ordered the wet hot buffalo chicken sandwich for pickup and this is what I got. Also ordered a side salad and there was more croutons, eggs, and tomatoes than there was lettuce.

Stopped in for lunch with a family member and tried the brisket cheesesteak and chorizo and potato sandwich. The waitress offered a number of sides so we picked fries and mac and cheese. The portions are smaller than our last visit and I was upcharged over $3 for the Mac and cheese which was cold and dry. I was also charged $2 for 2 cups of ranch. The sandwiches were tasty I just wish I would have been told about the added charges when I ordered.

You can never go wrong with Melt! We always have stellar service and the food if off the charts! We try to get to at least one of the locations a few times a year. Prices are decent. The servings are pretty large. I never leave unsatisfied. My son asks to go there at least once a week. We can't wait to come back!

10 boneless wings is the equivalent to 3 of your wings, hardly and meat, and hardly any sauce on them. Also they never give you ranch. I've tried almost everything and the only good thing on the menu is your bread pudding and mac and cheese bites. The bread for the sandwiches doesn't taste like real bread.

My wife and I went recently. Half the staff don't wear masks, and one of the unmasked ones (a manager I think) came over to talk at us (very closely) at the end of our meal. Sure enough, a couple days later, my wife now has COVID-19. We won't be returning until they start to take safety seriously. The food tasted great, but my wife catching COVID-19 wasn't appreciated.

Stopped here before seeing some brutal hardcore and death metal bands and felt immediately welcomed. The atmosphere is fantastic with it's quirky lighting. On the menu, we see comfort food taken to another level. Absurd amounts of bacon and cheese to make any Yankee drool. But, immediately upon entering, we were asked if we needed gluten free or vegan menus. But as a meat and cheese lover, I'll be leaving impressed. Great beer selection representing local breweries. Big shout out to Evan for being personable and relatable. It was like talking to an old friend.

My husband and I are avid Triple D viewers, so that's where we heard of Melt. I finally made it there with my Mom a few days ago. The food and service was impeccable. Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was very pleasant, patient and helpful as she went over the menu with us and how everything is done. I tried the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner and my Mom got the Parmaperrogi. It was very good, but also very heavy which is to be expected from that kind of food. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back with the hubby!

WORST EXPERIENCE at a melt bar and grille. I'm really annoyed with how my experience was. The first time I went here it was amazing and I've been to other locations that were also amazing. This last time I went was very disappointing. I didn't mind the fact that there was one cook and the food took a long time, I get it. My server was so nice to every table except ours. She checked on people and apologized for the wait. Our table she neglected and she's lucky I was nice and tipped. I never was offered a refill and my sister was offered one by the time we were almost done. I was charged for an extra cup of berry preserve sauce and the best part was that my sister had to remind her to bring it. By the time she brought it I was done with my food and was charged for it. That's ridiculous, especially when we had to wait so long for everything. I also asked for no American cheese on my sandwich and there was American on it which is whatever. The fries were burnt and my strawberry lemonade had no strawberry flavor in it. Way overpriced. I wish I could get my time and money back.

Melt has a great vibe and delicious food. Our server was chill and attentive enough (not over bearing). It felt pricey but I'd probably go again - just not very often.

I've had a number of sub-par experiences at Melt, not strictly at this location. The only reason I ever go back is because friends seem to enjoy it, and I'm always going in with a positive attitude hoping that things will be improved. The most recent issues with my takeout order was my vegan chili having cheese on it, and my order missing fries. Also, the vegan mac-and-cheese tasted like cardboard. All around disappointing.

  • 1/5 Amal S. 1 year ago on Google
Missing items in takeout our order. There was a mac & cheese side we never ordered. Tried to eat it, since we were missing other items. It was VEGAN and the worst thing I have put in my mouth in 10 years. Pretty much boiled pasta with no sauce. I went to melt because I do like cheese. No idea why they gave us that horrible vegan side. Although we waited 15 minutes longer than told for our order, food was NOT hot. Which pretty much ruined 4 grilled cheese sandwiches and 3 fries. What a waste of $90. Can’t believe I paid close to $20 for cold grilled cheese sandwiches. Yuck.

I enjoy Melt every time I come here. There are multiple locations, but I still like the original in Lakewood. The food is always good, but the best part is the staff. They are always friendly and helpful, and this time was no different. Brittany was great.

  • 5/5 Amanda D. 3 years ago on Google
Being from out of town I found this place online and had to try. The grilled cheeses were great. The option to get a half of a sandwich was nice because then I was able to try more than one sandwich without having too many leftovers. The prices were a little high for the portion size but the sandwiches did have very good quality ingredients that were very tasty. The buffalo wings were delicious as well.

  • 5/5 Mary M. 3 years ago on Google
The Monte Cristo is my favorite. Nice and crisp on the outside and tender and not soggy on the inside. The French onion soup was also very good.

I stopped in for lunch with a few friends. It's been a very long time since I've been to this location. The hostess was super friendly...we were seated quickly. It was a Saturday afternoon and there were a couple large groups there. Abby was our server...she was very sweet and helpful. I ordered 1/2 burger, coleslaw, and I asked for fries. The coleslaw was very spicy and for $4 I got crumbs for French fries! That had to be the most disappointing thing. $4 for a measly plate of French fries and most were so teeny. The burger was nicely cooked...pickles on it were a bit hard. Coleslaw was just was disappointing to me. I'm sure it'll be many years before I return. Things are so different from way back when. I say take your chances with MELT.

My sister's favorite spot! We came in after the Day of the Dead festival and enjoyed our food a ton! It was really slow, but we barely saw our server and often had empty glasses. It may have been that our server was new, and our experience was unique, because another server (who wasn't ours) was helping her out and her service was EXCELLENT. They have a ton of variety and do everything well, a great spot to take the family to lunch!

Great food and decor. Good takeout/pickup experience. Wide selection of types of grilled cheeses. I recommend the Chicken tenders. You get a lot of them and they have house made "breading". Be prepared to have a take home box. Good place to hang out with friends and family. Would come again.

  • 5/5 Rebecca S. 3 years ago on Google
Yes get everything on the menu. It’s all delicious. We stop every time we go through Cleveland and are never disappointed. I mean seriously there is cheese on everything. We didn’t finish our Mac and cheese and took most of it home. The offer gluten free and vegan options. The Walls were decorated with music album photos. There was and area that had ‘garage’ doors that opened up on nice days but not have the heat of the sun on you. There was also a mini arcade.

Negative experience using pick up. Order took over an hour, still waited another half hour after the given pickup time. Portions seemed smaller than usual. Fries were all cold when I got them. A restaurant should be forward about these possibilities when you place an order if they're busy.

One fine day in December I was driving into town for an Acacia Strain show at The Foundry when a vague memory came to me. A whisper of a place that I had visited some years ago, tickling the very corners of my mind… and yet so enticing… “The Melt…” it would echo over and over again. On a whim, I looked up the location and realized it was practically next to the venue, and my friend and I decided to check out this place once more to see if it lived up to my recollection. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a wash of tasteful neon signage illuminating the masterfully decorated interior adorned with metal posters and TVs playing a most rousing game of football between the Browns and Ravens. After a quick visit to the exceptionally clean bathroom, I was greeted by our waiter. This astute gentleman went by the name of Evan, and the pleasantry of our conversation was matched only by the professionalism of his service. The entire wait staff made our experience as enjoyable as possible, but having had the privilege of Evan as our primary wait staff I can confidently state he earned his 30% tip. With such preamble to a 5 star review, I think it is safe for you, dear reader, to assume that the food lived up to the rest of the experience. I can confidently state I have never enjoyed a more Mighty Macaroni Melt and the fried pickles were the most perfect blend of crispy batter and savory, zesty pickle that one could ever hope to top with their excellent southern herb remoulade. Washing it all down with a local Mastheads stout truly rounded out the whole experience. I would not only consider the Detroit Avenue location of The Melt an excellent experience, I would go so far as to call it transcendent. You owe it to yourself, your future children, and your fellow countrymen to patronize this fine establishment and enjoy yourself for an afternoon in the finest Cleveland dining establishment that I have had the pleasure of visiting.

The service was good, however for just opening up it could have been better also there was food beneath our table with ants covering it... we were there first customer. The food is mediocre at best, there tzatziki cucumber "sauce" was soupy and seemed to he fermenting (it had carbonation) and tasted nothing like it should. The drinks had too much ginger..not drinkable at best. Alot of there alcholic selection was missing or out. They won't split your flavors on wing orders so it's one or the other..not really a big deal but only customers...sooo I'd say.. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! and go across the street to "sauced taproom"!! Better food by a mile.

I love Melt Bar and Grilled! Whenever I make a trip to Cleveland before returning home stopping in Lakewood is a must. I've introduced friends to Melt and they have enjoyed it as well. The host/server and manager I encountered during my visit were absolutely phenomenal human beings! They were so kind and friendly even though I came in close to closing time( on accident ). The food was great as well! Will definitely tell everyone I know to come here. Customer service will always win over food quality in my opinion but both were excellent. 10/10 recommend this establishment. The place is also really cool and super clean.
