Beautiful square in downtown Cleveland, designated as a national historic place. The surrounding buildings are beautifully designed as well. The recent renovation closed off sections from vehicular traffic, which expanded the size of the square and made it more pedestrian friendly. Definitely add this to your itinerary, especially if you're a first time visitor. There's lots of photo ops within the square and you can read up on the history as you take a stroll. There is a Civil War monument and a statue of the city's founder. We noticed panhandlers roaming about, but they seemed harmless. Still, some people might find this intimidating. Finding street parking can be challenging. The spot we found was a couple of blocks away, near the public auditorium.

Nice place to walk around and enjoy your evening. It’s free and not too crowded. I would recommend visiting Tower observatory deck for exceptional view. Lots for places around to dine in too. Park was easy to find. $10-15 all day.

Absolutely incredible views and a lot of activities to do. The area has come alive in the past few years and it’s sort of the way old-school Cleveland was once upon a time described to be like, before the modern downturn over the past several decades. Walking through the downtown streets and driving around the city and neighborhoods— something is changing recently and the city life is reawakening and foot traffic is crowding out again filling these once empty sidewalks, streets, and parks. The renovations of old deteriorating buildings, influx of brand new high-rise apartment buildings and office spaces around the city core, the mega sports-complex renovations, and all the construction and added spaces has helped fuel the upswing and the city is looking younger and more alive each year. Still a lot of work and improvements needed, especially with local services and corruption in leadership roles… but the recent developments taking place in city and county elections has brought about a fresh, younger, more progressive and diverse leadership. I have been returning to visit regularly now and considering moving back to the city soon! I am coming to appreciate it more as it improves and I feel like it’s got so much potential. The lakeside views are amazing, the city lit up this time of year always looks beautiful by the lake… Christmas lights throughout the city, and the skyscrapers lit up at night! Makes for some stunning aerial views. The area has a lot to offer: water activities, nature with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park extending from the Southside of Cleveland all through to Akron basically, then you’ve got the rolling green hills at the eastern burbs and into the next county over, the Central City has numerous prestigious museums and educational institutions, the winter offers its own set of events and opportunities for those who love snow and wintertime fun! Just a great city! I’m happy to see it coming up. Put it this way… I would move to Cleveland over Columbus any day!

Traffic is flowing a bit more regularly since those initial snowstorms earlier in the month. It was a rather short visit, nonetheless. There is noticeably more activity now that it is getting warmer. Fountain technology has been reactivated, also!

Definitely should pay a visit to the square if you happen to be in Cleveland. The Christmas/new year lightings were still there when we visited in January. Just beautiful. The area was pretty quiet day and night, and the frequent presence of police patrol gave us a sense of safety even late in the evening. Surrounding the square there are a few places to visit, including the Tower City Center, the Arcade, and many restaurants.

I absolutely love this place. Its good to see how much this place has changed over the years.During Christmas its all decked up with lights bringing in the feel of holidays.Farmers market is set up in summers. Food vendors selling food and fresh produce. Random kids dancing around. Good place to take a walk and relax. I haven't been there in the recent times looks like water fountains are set up in summer.

The public square is nice and attracts families for kids who would like to play in the water however on the outskirts, it right across from the casino and attracts questionable characters. I would recommend hanging out on the other side of the square, not so near the casino to feel a little safer. The square feels like it is right in the center of Cleveland and you have views of the 3 main tall building in Cleveland. Nice to pass by but be alert.

Beautiful Christmas light display. Nice ice skating rink in the winter, but is a bit small for $12 per person. Nice small park in the middle of the city.

Gigs on the Green: Fun loving, great entertainment and a lot of food. The concerts are more for adults.

Beautiful city to spend a day, great restaurants, and so much to see! Soldiers and Sailors monument, and you can walk inside! Don't forget to walk through The Arcade! So beautiful, pictures attached, it has a glass ceiling, and you can get a room there, next Cleveland trip, I know now! Excellent coffee shop inside too! Make a good walk through town so much to see! Then make your way to the waterfront lookout! You can see the Science center, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ($35 per person, and you have to pre-pay, or use a QR code there. Great trip, give it two plus days, so much to do!

First time to this cool (literally) eatery right on the water was delightful. We weren't able to sit right on the waters edge, but that was good because the breeze off the water was a little chilly. We ate just inside, but the doors were open to the breeze and the view wasn't blocked. The food prices were a shock (a little high), but it was because the portions were very large. The hamburgers were 10 Oz. Burgers. I guess not everything is bigger in Texas!. I ordered a chicken tender salad for $18. One crispy fried chicken breast on a bed of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese. It was delicious. We also ordered the walleye nuggets that were small bite-sized chuncks of fried fish. They were delightfully mild and perfectly seasoned. The service was just right. I'd recommend this place, but be prepared for a big bill.

Downtown Cleveland is truly coming along. I arrived here in 1969 and it didn't look like a downtown, only one tall building. Now it's grown-up right before my 👀 eyes. Keep up the great work. Go Cleveland.
