I can’t believe this was right in my backyard and I didn’t know about it. The food was exactly what we were expecting delish and so was the service, happy and delightful. I enjoyed a massive bowl of their Shrimp & Grits appetizer and some catfish fingers but I have to admit the grape Kool-Aid with lemonade sent me back to my childhood. There is dine-in seating and my only suggestion here would be to make more welcoming by organizing the room. Regardless I’ll be back for some blackened catfish and collard greens!

Wow. This was our second choice for brunch in Lakewood. I'm so glad the other place had a line out the door so we were compelled to come here! My favorite thing was the "Cleveland original soul rolls", egg roll shells filled with chicken, greens, beans and cheese sauce. Seriously, try these! Everything else was delicious, artful soul food. The fried okra was perfectly prepared with a delightful crunch. The grits were creamy and wonderful, and I'll bet their shrimp and grits are amazing. Fried chicken and red velvet waffles were a big hit with the kids. And that was just what we ordered. The menu is chocked full of dishes I can't wait to try next time! The desserts especially. Granted, I'm not from the South so I really shouldn't be talking about authenticity but I do appreciate the unique details. Like this is the first restaurant I've been in that served Cool Aide. And on the table is just hot sauce and syrup. Salt and pepper are completely irrelevant because nothing isn't savory and seasoned. I only have one very small caveat. I with they would serve real half and half not the those little shelf stable creamers.

Overall the food was Okay. Shrimp and grits were not bad. They only put three shrimp in my grits. Mac and cheese was dry and bland. The candie yams were the best part in my opinion. Based off my experience I think this place is just okay. Not bad if you want something fast and different.

The food was delicious. The catfish was seasoned well, not greasy. The sweet potatoes, scallop potatoes, red beans and rice and french fries were fabulous! The cobbler was full of fruit and had a delightful crust that was perfect ending to a great meal. Lisa was terrific. This Chicagoan will be back.

Ordered ahead and picked up: Fried chicken dinners with fried okra, grits, mac n cheese, and cajun cream corn as sides. Everything was really good! Food was ready, friendly greeting and service upon my arrival!

I ordered a fried chicken dinner . I received 3 chicken wings . I paid extra for white meat . I presumed that meant chicken breast . I don’t eat wings .. however , the fries were definitely hand cut and delicious. And the Mac and cheese also delicious. Just wasn’t expecting wings

First off, I didn't like that I called the restaurant to place my order & they don't take phone orders. Secondly, the fried wings I ordered were under seasoned, the mac & cheese looked & tasted weird. The fried cabbage was good but they messed up my order because I ordered extra wings & instead, they gave me extra cabbage & mac & cheese, as if that was going to make up for it. Smh!

Amazing food! The shrimp and grits was savory and flavorful! The rice and beans, candied yams and collard greens were dynamite. However, the star of the show was the fried catfish! Holy cow. Thinly breaded, ZERO GREASE, flaky and mild. My 1.5 year old even scarfed down a few pieces! Can't wait to go back!! The location was clean and service was fast and friendly!
