The nurses and Doctors here are outstanding ! My loved one needed aggressive surgery last night. The Doctor was very informative, and helped my stress level by talking calmly. The nurses are very caring and attentive. She stayed overnight and I came within the visiting hours window to see her. She said groggy, "I remember how nice and kind they were to me the whole time". I only wish the cafeteria was great as the entire Orthopedic staff we encountered these few days. Parking was easy and well labeled. Very clean Hospital and I will highly recommend this Main campus for your needs. We have been to the other Hospital before, "we won't name" And the care is very different on all levels.

Completely filthy, other patients trash and body fluids all over, nobody checks on you, urine on the counter, vomit in the sink, dry IV and hours will pass before anyone comes by and does nothing, no pillow cases, no gowns given, will be contacting the health department, this place legitimately needs to be shut down. There are plenty of staff however having a good time doing nothing. Healthcare has come a long way apparently but not in a good way.

Terrible service, very rude and uninformative. Also very dirty and disgusting. Was waiting on a doctor for 2 hours for my pregnant fiancé to be checked for dilation. Doctor never came until we told them that we were leaving. After we told them that the doctor came with in 2 minutes. Will never go back and I do not recommend going there. A big waste of time

If you can please go or send your loved ones to another hospital. Some of the staff members are great but majority aren’t. Certain nurses neglected my loved one, would let them go hours without medication but will be sitting at the desk laughing/chit chatting . A staff member was making fun of my loved one deformities and other employees present thought it was soo funny. They made jokes about chopping her arms off, putting one of her fingers around a necklace etc. And the worst part about it is my loved one had to sit there helplessly listening to it. The floor manager seemed as if she ddnt care was more concerned defending the nurse. She guaranteed me that they same people would not care for her however those same people were in her room again. She looked me dead in my face and lied multiple times about different things not realizing I already knew. She and the DON took away my loved ones rights because they were upset about their staff being caught. I don’t even think they notified ethics, it’s like they try to sweep things under the rug. Then one of the Dr and a few of the Np’s kept trying to pressure us into making my loved a DNR. Despite the numerous times we’ve spoke with our loved one regarding there decision which was to remain a full code. Some of those providers don’t seem to do assessments because it’s so much they said was or wasn’t wrong with my loved one but if you went in the room you can tell just my looking they did couldn’t have assessed themselves. There was a Resident there that was did not use sterile technique for certain procedures. Another issue is the communication, when speaking separately with one person they say one thing the another the opposite and it’s very confusing. We tried to get our loved one moved prior to worsening status. I wish people treat patients as family because I guarantee if it was them or there loved one they would not like it. I definitely feel my loved one passing could have been prevented but like I said that Dr and Np’s definitely had there mind made up despite patients wishes. I don’t wish bad on anyone but I hope some day these people will know how patients feel. Honestly don’t know how some go home and sleep at night.

I checked in Id and insurance card at the 2nd floor GYN after about 45 I ask how much longer the wait would be , and I was told I was Not checked in by the previous receptionist. The checking desk also stated the doctor was 1 hour behind scheduled. If a provider is running that late it should be commutated to the patient and if the patient is waiting longer than 15 min that should also be acknowledged by staff. I made this appt 2 months in advance, now I have to wait another month.

Be prepared to be discarded like trash when you still need care if you don't have insurance. My fiancee got in an accident and severely broke his hand. They didn't even let him wash himself or give him a proper sponge bath, or tell him if he could get up to go to the bathroom when he asked, or even let him brush his teeth the 3 days he was there. They had him convoluted in a tangled mess of wires with a leaky iv, so they told him not to move his left arm, even though his other arm was in a very thick splint. How was he supposed to eat or do anything? He was sweating profusely because they keep it so hot in there with the hand in a heated contraption for blood flow, and wouldn't provide a fan or turn down the temperature, so he was hot, sweaty, uncomfortable, and dirty. He was still covered in motor oil from the wreck when I saw him. He can't even put the thick splint in a sling, it's so big. The staff around the help desks were rude and kept sending me everywhere with no answers when I just wanted to know what was going on with his surgery and if he was okay. A nice nurse finally helped me out and got me back up in the waiting room and called to get information on how he was after I got locked out of the waiting room when I went to get coffee after 13 hours of sitting there. Thank you, Lala, you're an angel! I ended up going home without seeing him and came back a different day because the doctor said he would probably be asleep a while. They kept him in the dark about everything and then kicked him out abruptly while he was still very much in pain, so he had to frantically call someone to get him, and we don't live that close. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I am thankful for the doctor who saved his hand, but I am completely disgusted by the health care system in this country. The staff should definitely work on their bedside manner and how they treat visitors that are concerned about their loved ones. I brought him flowers from the gift shop when I was finally allowed and able to see him days later, and they told me the patients aren't even allowed to keep live flowers in their room. Why do they sell them at the gift shop if they aren't permitted? When I got him insurance they said it wouldn't be valid until October 1st, which makes no sense. He needs the insurance right now! I had to do it over the phone for him or they weren't going to provide physical therapy, and someone stole my card information and tried to use it the next day, all because they demanded we buy it then and there or he gets no care. Sickening that a family member tried to take advantage of us while her own brother was laying there in bad shape. What would have happened if we couldn't have bought insurance? It was not cheap. It's absolutely DISGUSTING that some people out there don't have access to life saving care and just get dumped out on the street when they are no longer an asset to someone's wallet in this country. Our whole system needs to be changed. Why do we pay so much in taxes if we don't have universal health care? No one should have to be denied treatment for any reason, whatsoever. Healthcare is a human right, not a luxury. Unless you live in America.

This hospital and the people working in it give Cleveland a bad name. My brother was admitted here and I live out-of-state so I was calling to get a status to help determine if I might have to get in my car or on a plane to come there. I tried calling three times and each time was equally bad. One worker put the phone down and I could hear her conversing with co-workers for 5-10 minutes, having a great time laughing it up while I was trying to figure out if my brother was still alive. Shame on all of you....

Hard to get updates about your loved ones. Visitation is horrible. Two visitors a day. Not two at a time, per day! Covid guidelines have been lifted! I was told they are just slow getting it switched back to normal by the person in charge of handling that. So far Cancer Care outpatient is great. A loved one has been admitted twice in the past 6 to 8 weeks. The first time was horrible. And this time doesn't seem to be as bad. Most caregivers have been exceptionally well. But most nurses have been the opposite. Very dry to patient.

Honestly There is really nothing wrong with this hospital. It's just certain days when the staff is unpredictable or just short. A lot of people have days where they just not themselves. It's easy to feel neglected when your top priority isn't theirs as well.

I walked in to the main desk on Sunday at 5pm. The staff at The desk was super disrespectful. Upon walking in I received blank stares and silence from the 3 ladies behind the desk. When I walked up to one of them, they rolled their eyes at me and asked “can I help you” in a snarky tone. You don’t have to be super friendly, but be welcoming

I had the best birthing experience at this hospital out of all 3 of my children. Their labor and delivery nurses were top tier (2019).

Nursing and all the staff on the medical floors are simply amazing. So helpful and kind. Now I’m deducting 2 stars for the complete lack of care by administration. My father has dementia and was suffering from hospital delirium so the attending in the ICU told my family that we should come early and stay with him during his waking hours. This past Sunday I arrived at 8am and there was on one at the front desk to issue me a pass to get up to the patient rooms so I called the main number for Glock Center. An attendant name David answered the phone and informed me that visiting hours started at 9am. I explained about the dementia and delirium and that the attending asked us to come early in the morning. David immediately took a condescending tone and asked “what’s early, 5:30 am?”. I took a stern tone and asked his name, he immediately said he’d transfer me to the nurses’ station on the floor. The nurse was very kind and came down to the lobby to get me. Today (Tuesday) I arrived at about 8am again and spoke to a person at the front desk. She informed me that visiting hours start at 9am, I told her the same story about my fathers dementia and delirium and she informed me that I had to call the nurses station and have them call down to the front desks to authorized my visit. I told her that in the past the front desk called up to get approval and she told me that they are not allowed to call the nurses stations. I called and spoke to a helpful person at the nurses station and she called down and spoke to the front desk. Then the person that issued my badge treated me like I was interrupting her day. The entire time the personnel at the front desk were chatting with other employees that happened to be walking by. Finally, It’s is clear that the decision makers do not actually have live their own policies. The main parking garage (located under the out patient building) is closed at 7pm. This makes is very difficult to retrieve your car after 7. You have to go to the security desk in the emergency room and ask that they open the gate so that you can retrieve your vehicle. Now , the explanation is that there is a new garage (called P1) at the edge of the campus, but because of the construction still in progress you have to take a “shuttle”. The shuttle itself is not a bus or what you’d expect at the airport, it is a 10 seat van. It is cramped and stuffy and I don’t understand why it seems like a good idea to pack potentially sick people into a van with poor ventilation. There is no walking path from the garage to the hospital, and it kind of feels like that was by design. My overall impression is that the care staff truly care about the care of the patients but the administration has no consideration for the friends or family of the patients. I’m revising this review because yet again metro shows that they don’t carve about the well being of patients’ families. I just had to walk from the Glick tower down an unlighted street without sidewalks to get back to the P1 garage. When I arrived, I found the “shuttle” just sitting in the garage and the woman operating it finally decided to head out when I, and a few other people walked into the garage. MetroHealth administration should be ashamed to provide this level of “service”

Rude rude rude beyond. Was in there 1/4/24 arrived at 10pm on the 4th around sat quietly for 6 hours first time I asked can you tell me how many people are in front of me the rude person did ask my name she said "well it would be helpful if I knew you name" then she said 2 over the next 2 hrs I felt worse and needed to use restroom there was a bowel movement on the back of the toilet and blood so around 430 am asked again. Without even asking my name I'm sure she didn't remember she said 8. At this point I decided it was time to cut my losses and leave at 430 am on the 5th I had to walk luckiy was only a mile. Ended up at different er who actually drew blood discovering I was bleeding internally. So I will never return don't need a reply there's nothing to say

Absolutely disgusting place that treat pregnant women like garbage. They dont even allow you to stay in the room for a little bit after giving birth. As soon as you push the baby out- theres a nurse grabbing you & throwing you in a wheelchair to get you out asap. The labor & delivery process here is almost identical to medieval torture. They dont allow an epi til you're about to pass out from the pain & then when they finally give you one, they "investigate" you because fetanyl was found in your system. This type of care should be criminal.

Disgusting emergency room, horrible rooms that don't appear clean (blood on floor, used stuff in them), EMS took me here and I regret it because not only did I not get the emergency care I needed they made me wait hours in pain. The read the ECG wrong for it to only be EDITED in the myChart with what I expressed I had issue with to begin...something is wrong with this hospital. Something is not kosher with most of the staff in the ER, please send random undercover people there to experience the ER. Random times and days, the photos of the 1 star reviews are not wrong. I agree it is not a good place if you value your care and yourself. I did not feel safe or cared for in a very vulnerable moment after a life threatening event. Terrible hospital. I will never be taken there again...I would jump out of the EMS if they try to make me go to that horrible main campus ER. Sickening!! And not everyone is treated with respect, they act like everyone there is looking for drugs when some of us don't want to die and have a clean system. Sickening. Sick. I'd rather die at home than be taken there to be ignored. I went to the Cleveland Clinic same evening after release and I had severe heart trauma. Metro is sick. I did not request to go there they took me because of how close it was. I would rather travel a further route even if my heart was impacted by an incident.

In the beginning of my Care @ Metro Health Hospital it was in a more acceptable manner because my Health conditions weren't as severe as they're now Present day. When it came to my treatment they kind of like brushed me off as everything was good with my overall Physical and Mental well-being. Went to other hospital to see different kind of Specialist for numerous concerns. Would of stayed if the Doctors and specialist I seen while I was there, if I was taken serious by Professionals. Healthcare workers help save the lives in their Society not Ignore the drastic changes and complaints by the Patients themselves!

Metro is perhaps the worst professional experience that I’ve ever had in healthcare as a practicing professional. Some of their staff were kind and caring, some of their staff were unethical and not meeting professional standards of care while borderline committing malpractice outside scope of practice. Very non-structured and disorganized, assessments were very informal rather than structured, and non-health staff denying patients grievance officers should watch themselves for a lawsuit in the future.

On April 14, 2023, a family member suffered a head injury and the local hospital said that they needed to be taken to a Level 1 Trauma Center and asked which one we wanted. I had no first-hand experience with MetroHealth but had always heard that if someone had trauma MetroHealth was where you wanted to be so that was our choice. There was fear and anxiety over the injury itself, as well as going to a hospital with which I had no familiarity, to an area of Cleveland I’d never been but had heard was a bit sketchy. I followed the ambulance and had to park in the hospital parking garage. I know it may sound cheesy, but from that moment forward, I felt enveloped in care. I’ve had first and second-hand experience with short and extended stays at various Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital facilities and both are obviously top-notch, but I’d put MetroHealth slightly above either, based on our experience. The team at MetroHealth works together like a very well-oiled machine and every employee I encountered from the shuttle van driver to the ER intake person to every STNA, nurse, doctor, and cafeteria worker was very caring and impeccably trained. The shuttle van drives you from the parking garage to either the Main entrance or the ER entrance and the driver was so friendly and explained a lot about the shuttle service, the hospital, and where I needed to go and how to get back to my car. The ER intake person genuinely cared about my anxiety and went out of his way to get information for me and get me back to my family member’s room as soon as possible. The ER is huge - I saw ER room numbers up to 78, not sure how high it goes - but inside your room, you felt like you were their sole priority as each person came in and out flawlessly handling their duties and explaining what they were doing and why every step of the way. I left the ER late that night after my family member was being transferred to a room. There were multiple police/security guards around the ER entrance while I awaited the return shuttle and I never felt one ounce of concern for my safety at that time or any other. When I returned the second visiting hours started the next morning, I appreciated the security in place before you got to see a visitor and the impeccable cleanliness of the facility. The inpatient room was lovely and, again, the nurses and doctors we saw in AC4-203 were stellar. Very thankfully, discharge was possible early that afternoon. While I hope to never need ER or Hospital services again, if I do MetroHealth will be a very easy choice. Thanks MetroHealth!

Wow a lot of negative reviews that's not good I just wanted to thank Cathy in the ER and the very nice girl nurse I forgot her name but she looked and reminded me of Jennifer Lawrence.( That's probably why I forgot her name I kept thinking Jennifer Lawrence) Made a world of difference to me💕love Personally a lot of people were coming in and out of my room they all were nice... 👍 Was in panic though I couldn't find the emergency room entrance the signs are not good I will say when I told someone I was in the ER the other night they told me don't ever go to that hospital and now I'm reading these reviews wow.. I hope I never have to go to the hospital again if I did they recommended Cleveland clinic or university.. The people at the desk staff yeah they was laughing and chuckling in conversation as some of the reviews mentioned but is that really a bad thing? As when I approached them they were responsive and accommodating. I'm not saying the other commenters claims are invalid I'm just saying my experience.. Just one guy was a little cold rude and brass there is always one LOL

Whoever runs the front desk especially the woman that’s looks to be 4’2 is very rude and I wish I had got her name to report her, some staff are nice and decent but others like her should be looked into. If you’re only working here for the pay please don’t. People need people at hospitals that care and have compassion.

I once gave a bad review here. I, however have changed my mind. The ICU unit here is Wonderful and took great care of my loved one. Everyone in the ICU is a true professional. Hope to never have to have anyone there again. If I could give the ICU 10 stars, I would. Thank you for all you do.

The shuttle service offered at Metro from the Garage to the Glick building and the ER needs a MAJOR re-staffing. The driver in the photo stayed in his phone with AirPods in his ear daily! Even taking FaceTime calls while driving passengers! You can see that he doesn’t even wear his seatbelt properly, strapping it behind his seat! He clearly has no regard for his own safety so it’s no surprise he has none for the passengers he’s responsible for either.

Would give 0 stars if I could! There is absolutely no parking for visitors/patients, it’s all employee lots. Then once you find a spot to park (if you can) no one knows anything about directions inside of the building. I asked two people where to get a blood draw in which I was left wondering the hospital by myself to find out. I then get to the blood draw place, I had made an appt at 7 am on the app to which they stated they don’t take appointments and it’s first come first serve. Like why have me make an appointment then?! I’d steer clear of this place at all costs unless you want a headache

Although metro has helped me/saved my life in the past, they need to pay attention to that lawsuit in New York about how the hospital treated the former addict. The metro ER is notorious for treating people with past addiction problems very poorly. I went there after a surgery with puss oozing from my hand and 3x its normal size and they treated me BAD…PAY ATTENTION…. It won’t be long before your ER is next. You need to train the ER staff that addicts are people too. I’ve been successfully sober, it does happen. What I’ll never forget how ashamed they made me feel and how they treated me or lack there of because of the situation

This is the worst hospital. The workplace is full of tolerated crazy old staff and some are sooo lazy. They dont even endorse the patients properly. Its wayyyyy worse in chicago. The charge nurses are all sooo bully. They create wrong reports about coworkers if they dont tolerate their bratty personalities. Attendants here just go out form the productions more than half of the shift and when theres tasks that are not done, the managers will blame it to the nurses. Sooooooo crazy people. Hope you all have miserable life. This happens in 8 east. There are also doctors and nurse who keep pressuring you to look fit when I dont have money to go to gym. This is soooooo annoying. American at its worst.

I have not gotten my Impacted Wisom Tooth taken out yet but sitting here after Shots. Brayden & his Staff are great. Brayden is a sweetheart and made me laugh. Sammi is as well and they both made me laugh! So informative and empathetic. Olivia was wonderful when coming in. I will go here in the future for any work that needs done, if I need a Root Canal with my future insurance and if he can do that. I appreciate the entire staff, good people. I am thankful for people like them. The Surgery went great. The shots have some spice to them and that is expected. Dr Oaks - Brayden did wonderful! It was a longer process than simple Wisdom Tooth Extraction, and even so, I could not feel a thing, just pulling and normal discomfort for small mouths - even though it was a stubborn tooth and close to the nerve, I could tell he was very thorough before, during and after the Surgery was very informative and kind. I felt good during the surgery and could tell he was extremely thorough in his techniques. Made sure to let me know to tell him if I did feel anything as well as checked on me periodically. He made sure to go over all of the risks and what to expect and answered any questions before I had them, before and after. Certainly a deserving Doctor, Dr Brayden is! I was very nervous. Thank you for making it a pleasent experience. I do not normally write reviews and do so for people like you!

This review is based on the referral they gave me to the MetroHealth in Rock side avenue in Bedford. This was a week ago I just walked out.. I arrived and there was five people waiting in this room all were called in within minutes. Approximately five more people arrived and they were all called in then one by one other people arrived and they were called in after the first half hour I went outside and they said you'll be called in a minute and another half hour went by I just walked out .But now I'm thinking and I don't think this way that's why It just dawned on me a week later the staff at the front desk were all black very nice but they were all black everybody in the waiting room was all black and I was sitting there talking to them they were all very nice but again all black everybody that I saw in that place was all black and I'm white now what would black people say if black person went into an all white hospital and was ignored for an hour I'm just saying could this be a racial thing? I certainly wouldn't go back there again.. I never been through Bedford before it was a little bit of a drive to get there beautiful area way better than Cleveland West side I' loved the area the place was immaculate everybody I spoke to people visiting the hospital and workers there were extremely nice I was very impressed however I was ignored for an hour and they had told me to get there 15 minutes early smh. It wasn't like people were waiting long everybody in the waiting room that I was in was seen immediately within minutes the next group of about the same amount of people came in and they were all seen immediately and then people were coming in one by one and being called in immediately and I just sat there for an hour. Again everybody there was super nice I was sitting there just being me talking to people when I checked in the guy was super duper nice I was impressed but doesn't change the fact that I sat there for an hour. Was never called in and no one ever approached me about any delay or whatever nothing....

AWARD-WINNING CARE, BED-SIDE MANNER AND EXPERTISE! As well as UNBELIEVABLY THOROUGH! I really can't say enough about this TEAM of incredibly efficient and extremely competent Doctors and Nurses! From the moment I arrived into the Emergency Dept at this Main Campus location I was treated with the utmost urgency and empathy. Thanks to everyone that helped a scared and worried patient feel so relieved to be in your care!

Some doctors are great some are the complete opposite of that. The geriatric center and the physical therapy centers are the best in my opinion. Neurology not so much, cardiology some of the doctors like Dr b are phenomenal and then others not so much. Getting surgeries the clinic is much better because they give you something to relax before the surgery and Metro tends to just push you through, yell at you..

If given the choice between UH, the Clinic, St. John’s or Metro, choose ANYWHERE but Metro. The staff are not care givers, especially ER nursing staff. Family member was in an auto accident and was quickly released without stitches and staples that were more than adequately installed with great care and concern by The Clinic as we’re very necessary the following morning.

I have never waited more than 2 Hours at least in the ER but they did awful this time overnight and over 8 hour wait and on top of the wait a rude nurse, my husband's symptoms worsening and still nothing. Worst service ever. I understand there's a lot of emergencies but no need to be rude after a long period of waiting. Rather take a longer ride next time. Even doe after my husband was called in they provided excellent service and great friendly staff. That rude nurse gotta go.

Everything was great until it came time to come to the NICU, the nurses need to work on their bedside manner along with sharing information with new parents. There's no reason that you know your keeping a child for an extended period of time and won't tell the parents. Unacceptable.
