😠 My experience with this place was awful. I came here straight from Barnes after having emergency back surgery in 2009. Most of the day I laid in bed, I only met with a physical therapist once a day. I thought I was having panic attacks while there, but it turns out I was detoxing off of the Dilaudid... People often mention staff, care, home, facility, Carter, therapist, time, told, nurse, therapy,

My experience with this place was awful. I came here straight from Barnes after having emergency back surgery in 2009. Most of the day I laid in bed, I only met with a physical therapist once a day. I thought I was having panic attacks while there, but it turns out I was detoxing off of the Dilaudid I was given post-op. The nurses did nothing to help, and I had to aggravate them for hours just to get them to call my doctor. They were extremely rude and unsympathetic. I ended up leaving. If I had to be miserable, I was at least going to be miserable in my own bed. I hope they have better staff these days.

My father was recently discharged from the faciility. They almost killed him. As a nurse myself the nursing. Care here is a disgrace. The staff is rude. Unsympathetic. They allowed my father to lie in feces hated to help him bath or clean up. Horrible at delivering medications on time. Long waiting times when the call button was pushed. The nurses all walk around with headphones in. Loud. Rude. The staff all had attitudes. Threatening to walk out if you brought forth an issue. We will be reporting to Joint Commission and to the state board of busting

I spent eleven days at this facility last year and felt the quality of care and the people were outstanding. They offered 3 hours of physical therapy per day and were diligent in providing it in a thoughtful and caring way. While no facility can provide the kind of care that a private nurse or home situation can, these people do try very hard. I would and have recommended it to family and friends

if i could give this place 0 stars i would. Awful place and Dr Huskey even worse. Rude uncaring sent my son home with no pain meds suggesting he was drug seeker after he had the most painful break in his back. An L3 burst fracture and had to have surgery with hardware in his back. She sent him home with a muscle relaxer she knew would not be approved by insurance and when i called about she acted as if i should just handle it myself rather her just simply change it to a generic. we were told this was a state of the art facility. What a joke! and for your sake i hope you don’t get dr huskey. This place wasn’t worth our time and did nothing for my son.

This place has been decent for my mom's rehad but horrible for most anything else. They have forgotten her dinner and wanted to give a cold food substitute, (it wasn't until I wouldn't let it go that the charge nurse went and put her something hot together in the kitchen, they have continuously messed up her breakfast when she always wants oatmeal, (how hard is that) there are some that have bad attitude's with poor work ethic, she just told me her shoes are missing!!!! What the hell!!!!!

The St Louis Rehab Institute may be a fine facility, but I strongly recommend against anyone putting a loved one in the care of this facility if they are hoping to get status for that loved one while they are an inpatient and they live out of the greater St. Louis area. The staff across the board has shown complete indifference to providing status to any of my sister's family on how my sister is doing. The staff's indifference to my calls for status make me tremendously concerned for my sister's welfare. No family should be treated like this. Beware of the St. Louis Rehabilitation Institute.

Loud place , don't want to take care of our mother properly. Mean mugging her and to think she came straight from the hospital to rehab to get better. The room was getting too hot she asked them to kindly adjust the heat they turned it off altogether so she would freeze. Definitely seeing about filing a complaint and will definitely report this to the news if I must to get satisfaction

They should hire people with some people skills. Lady at the front (day time) is mean and rude. She is in front of the house and greet guests but they sat wrong people there...I gave two stars because the night security guy is very nice other than that, it is awful place. Do not recommend this place for your love ones.

I feel like I was not prepared to come home after my time here. I have done inpatient rehab at another facility and I did 2x the things they did with me here and was prepared to come home. I could barely get up out of a chair and stand up on my own at discharge. I am also an oncology patient so to get blood I wanted them to use my port and no nurse had experience really with them nor did they have the correct supplies to access it. They were doing the access procedure unsterile and I came to TRISL after having an infection in my blood so not being sterile while using something that goes to my heart is extremely dangerous. My case manager was supposed to call me about home health after discharge and never did. Wait times are long if you push the call button. I also have stairs in my home and and we only did the steps once so coming home I couldn’t even get to my room which is upstairs. Overall just not a great experience.

I was hospitalized last year in June becuase of textbook symptoms of Guillian-Barre Syndrome and was told I was going to be transferred here the night of. I read reviews and was dreading it, and having arrived almost at midnight I couldn't get any sleep because of that.. I spent almost two month at this establishment and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. My primary doctor, the therapist and everyone who attended to me was out of this world. Everyone was nice and polite to both me and my SO when she visited me during their hours. An amazing place for sure.

My husband received the best care here. All of the nursing staff went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well cared for. Every single person that we have encountered was pleasant and helpful. My only disappointment was that he didn’t improve as much as we had hoped as far as rehabilitation. Maybe our goals were higher than my husband could have achieved in 3 weeks? Nonetheless I give 5 stars for our experience!

the rehabilitation institute St Louis, Saint Peters location... Hoisted my mother up from the front of her gait belt! As if that wasn't enough, they left her unassisted in the bathroom! If I hadn't seen her only God knows what might have happened! She was standing up in front of the toilet, unassisted. My mom has a fractured pelvis, mind you. 😑😑😑😑😑

Not Impressed!!!! Husband went there after chemo he was in pain and the dr dismissed the pain and didn’t even check my husband just waved me away when I explained how my husband copes with pain then the dr walked out of the room. My Husband got blood test daily at other hospital after chemo. We had to insist to get repeatedly that something was wrong until they agreed to do blood test 2x a week. My husband bp dropped and stayed low, heart rate stayed high at rest and he was trying not to move or breathe deep so he would not be in pain and the dr walked out of the room without committing to find the cause of the NEW symptoms that just started after the chemo and arriving at this rehab.

This review isn’t about the care provided, which was fine This review is about how during the time my loved one was in the care of this facility, he had not one , but TWO different charging cables and charging blocks stolen. I was visiting one day and his charging cable was by his bed. Visited a few days later and it was gone. Went out and purchased another block and cord and brought it to him and labeled it with his name and plugged it in. When it came time for his discharge, once again, cord and block were gone! This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! My loved one suffered from a major stroke and was depending on others to provide his care, and he was being stolen from when he was at his most vulnerable time! Absolutely disgraceful!!! 😑

If I can rate this place a zero I would! First and foremost. I was very mistreated as this place is affiliated with Barnes Jewish Hospital because of that the mistreatment, retaliation continues from years of medical abuse by Barnes Jewish Hospital medical staff. Here is a listing what occurred during my stay: 3/3/23 denied me a breakfast tray after telling the nurse Canzetta. She did nothing to get me a breakfast tray but rather argue with me. It took my speech therapist and another nurse who wasn't assign to me a breakfast plate. Please note I had a stroke 2/22/23, but this does not matter to NO nurse, NOR to Dr Carter who does not listen to anything I have to say. If i develop any pain or feeling ill it was taken as a joke. I was told by the resident Dr that i dont have diabetes, this is farthest from the truth...im prediabetic been for years, special diet lowers my AC1 #. Rather dig up past records from Barnes Jewish to create a negative unhealthy environment. Where im being stressed everyday. The so-called Katie Sullivan case manager did very little to coordinate my care here or after. She rather purposely solely discriminate had very little interest in my care she and the CEO Mark, Katie Supervisor desire to discharge me to the streets not to an address. Dr. Carter lies and twists my words treat me like im incompetent playing psychological mind games. He informed me on 3/4/2023 that they'll, a team of staff will meet on Wednesday on behalf of ALL patients and let us know our progress on date 3/8/2023 did not occur, never discuss any progress report. 3/6/2023 Dr Carter had a psychiatrist come to see me without discussing this with me first, the psychiatrist said he was sent because I was moody and anxious behavioraly. Began asking about my past to suggest psychiatric services. I firmly said NO! This was to humiliate and exploit; violating HIPAA while another patient in the room. This was done repetitively. All the while the other patient in the room spoke with Dr Carter privately repetitively! Dr. Carter is to make rounds to see all his patients but DID NOT see me this day 3/6/23. I had to request a Dr. to see me later that day. I was experiencing light headedness symptoms that Canzetta DID NOT make notes of this to Dr Carter deliberately. Dr Carter told me he'll talk to me later - he lied, never showed. I had no choice but to hotline this facility, then the retaliation began. Violating HIPAA even more, threw away my personal items from home on 3/10/2023. On 3/11/2023 I ask the Nurse Linda for towels and a gown so I can take a shower. She ask me did I wanted my nicotine patch now? I explain I'm about to take a shower can you put it on afterwards so it won't come off. She instead made sure I didn't get a nicotine patch and my meds sat on the table unattended, the nurse is to be attending meds making sure you're aware what meds taken and why. Certain staff do not have compassion for patients and Dr Carter, Alexandre Rene plays politics between patients, while continue being treated poorly, the previous patients Dr Carter valued with a red star - it suppose to represent patient is fall risk. Really means patient is to be favored in the secure unit i was previously in which shouldnt be. Dr Carter claims he had no open rooms on the otherside of the secured doors to move me from, again another lie. As there were OTHER fall risk patients without any star posted outside their door, moved. Nurses do not answer certain patients call button also....I did not request this rehab, BARNES Jewish Hospital did!! But if you ever have a complaint and file, Dr Carter and staff will see to it that you are discharged immediately!!! IT IS WISE TO HAVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS VISIT OFTEN. Certain staff enjoy abusing patients such as they've done to me and Katie Sullivan a liar, Dr Carter liar, twists words, cover up DO NOT LISTEN! CEO support staff wrong doings. My blood pressure rose to 153/103 (which is covered up never report it) 3/9/2023 so to hope I have another stroke...IM allergic to latex, my health is no concern to TRISL!!

Really disappointed with therapy. The one therapist basically had told my son he should consider another avenue for as his career, then said she hope she didn't discourage his dreams. I saw it with my own eyes, as he told her it really upset him. She then told him that he could not blame her for his dreams being diminished. She handled it completely wrong and she even admitted it was handled in appropriately but never apologized to him. Then she had told my son she would reach out to his employer in previous sessions then never did. How discouraging.

My son spent a month in this facility for a traumatic brain injury. He had excellent treatment. He and our family were always treated with respect. Our questions were answered and people had time for us. My son had physical, occupational, and cognitive therapy. The only thing I didn't like were all the cigarette butts scattered around the entrance to the facility. There is a need for grounds maintenance and landscaping. Don't let this deter you, though; it's an excellent rehab.

Tried to get my 23 year old son in this place. They advised he was not ready for therapy. SSM Rehabilitation picked up the ball and ran with it. He was ready for therapy and is doing wonderful. I highly recommend to not take No as an answer. Seems this place rejects a lot of patients as I have checked into them since being rejected. Thanks again SSM Rehabilitation you rock.

The therapy team at #TRISL has been a God send since my fiancΓ© initially had his accident Sept 2019. Ironically we also met one another and fell in love in Sept 2021 during my employment there. And we have been back twice since then and couldn't be more pleased to call many of the staff close friends.

I was blessed to have been a patient of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis 4 different occasions. In July, 2022 I recovered on the 4th floor for 2 weeks, after suffering a stage 4 pressure ulcer on my butttocks, my wound care nurse did exceptional work healing my ulcer while enjoying his music. Even when my kids were there, he welcomed them to assure my of the care he was giving while allowing them to observe his process in cleansing and wrapping my wound. In April 2023, my left leg was amputated below the knee. I stayed for 2 weeks, on the 2nd floor in May, receiving occupational as well as physical therapy. My therapist, Krista and Kelcey, as well as the other therapist made my stay very therapeutic and enjoyable. I returned again to The Rehabilitation Institute in May 2023 after I received my prosthetic where I felt quite familiar with my surroundings , even my room-mate were nice, My Nurse Ashly, was very sweet and professional, but everyone was. I returned for the third time, I was on the 3rd floor with my therapist Krisi, Natalie, and Maura. I received extensive training to help me walk with my prosthetic, as well as exercises to build muscle and classes to help with safety tips when you get home. October 2023, I returned to The Rehabilitation Institute Of St. Louis to get a tune-up. my confidence level to very low, I needed assistance when I step down or step up on the curb. I also needed help with the incline. My Blessing came again when Kristi, Maura, and Natalie were my main therapist with me and 6 days later when I left, I had more confidence then before I arrived. I am still a work in progress, but I take it one day at a time. Thank you, Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis, MO Victoria Johnson

This place failed my mom almost terminally. The 1st 9 days at TRISL put her back in hospital. She was free of UTI, but they managed to give her another + over medication toxicity. That hospital visit for 7 days set bk dramatically. Of the entire facility staff there were 2 therapists that worked diligently w mom and had her progressing, when they sent us to BJC Extended Care in Clayton MO. TRISL gave up on my mom and nearly terminally, especially with medication toxicity. If you have ANY options, don’t take your family there. It might be your LAST stop.
