Cheap, good diner food and vibe! I got a bacon egg and cheese on a roll (maybe a good idea to pay for a second egg). Home fries really tasty

After cycling 136 miles: I’m hungry, cold, & tired. MIKE’S was opened at 6 am and in proximity of the Atlantic Terminal. Just what the doctor ordered. I’m the 3rd patron in the door at 6:15 am. Sat at the counter and ordered the corn beef hash with eggs & hash brown. I can’t really remember much except that I wolfed it down. Pretty much ate everything including the toast minus the napkins & condiments. 😅😅 This is a good comfortable spot with pleasant vibes. If you’re hungry and it’s early. Definitely give it a try

This is truly one of the great NYC establishments. It embodies what makes New York, New York. Plenty of breakfast options for all types. There are indoor and outdoor tables - weather permitting. Every time I come back to Brooklyn - this is my jam

I adore this place. Classic diner with the food to match. Excellent waffles, and I loved the style of home fries they serve with the breakfast plates. Service is lightening quick, the owners are kind, and there is outdoor seating on a beautiful spring day. The only reason this is a four-star review is that they use almost exclusively paper cups and plates which even if recyclable (and most of it probably isn’t) it generates a lot of unnecessary waste. Hope this changes in the future.

Disappointed is an understatement… I loved mikes for its classic no frills atmosphere and delicious food at an affordable cost. My parents fell in love over their griddle cakes and continued to rave about this place throughout their many decades of marriage. So naturally, of course, I fell in love with the place as well. I continued to patronize Mike’s even throughout the heart of the pandemic because the food was THAT good! I recommended this place to countless friends and family members visiting the city or venturing to clinton hill for the first time. They all had nothing but glowing reviews of this adorable, cozy diner. Vacations, birthdays, holidays, even funerals, you name it, everyone in my family loved eating at Mikes! Unfortunately, today I ordered a takeout cheeseburger that came with the added luxury of a MOLDED hamburger bun. I have patronized this spot more than a few dozen times under the old owner and I have never been served something like this. The bun was so moldy that I find it hard to believe that the cooks did not notice it, especially since it was not busy. I noticed the mold within 3 minutes of opening the box… I also worry about how many other burgers were served today from the same moldy package of buns that I almost had the pleasure to enjoy. I understand that mistakes happen but the level of mold on this bun is completely unacceptable. Mold to this degree takes more than just 2 weeks to develop. I was so disgusted that I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of the top bun without gagging. It saddens me to say that my family, friends and I won’t be patronizing this establishment anymore. Mold is incredibly dangerous and with some types, it can even be fatal. I am beyond disappointed…. This is how you lose loyal customers.

Great neighborhood diner that provides the best prices I’ve seen in the area. My friends and I came here for Saturday morning brunch and there was a bit of a line but it moved quickly. We ordered omelettes, which come with your choice of potatoes or grits and your choice of whole wheat or white toast (excellent deal!). We also ordered blueberry pancakes for the table. Everything tasted fine, though the pancakes were a bit on the bland side. Service was speedy and friendly. All in all, I 100% recommend this spot for breakfast, lunch or brunch any day of the week — and if you incur a line, know that it’s worth the wait.

It's always a wonderful time at "Mike's". I've been dining at Mike's for at least 40 years. It is good to visit a neighborhood staple. Excellent service and customer service. I enjoyed my blueberry pancakes 🥞 this visit. Yummy.

Good, cheap diner in Fort Greene. Almost always ppl waiting outside to come in, but usually no longer than a 10-15 min wait. Would recommend getting here before 10am to skip any lines. Nothing overly special about the food, but most plates are around $10 or less, service is great and has bottomless coffee. It's exactly what you would expect from a local, bustling diner. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by, but no need to go out of your way to come here.

Brunch was served paper/plastic plates which was a shocker. The food was lazy and lacked any flavor even for a diner. Their rating on yelp is 4 1/2 ⭐️ makes no sense to me. I suppose if your palate lacks adventure and knowledge you may enjoy it. The service wasn’t bad, our waiter was kind. This was my personal experience and opinion.

Mike's Coffee Shop is a local diner with a curated menu of classics, affordable prices, good portions, fast service, and plenty of neighborhood charm. Three outdoor tables (no shade/rain cover) are utilitarian and efficient and good for the COVID conscious or sunbathers with pups. Inside tables and booths are a bit packed together. Bathroom is tiny and there is no changing table or wheelchair access. Get the blueberry pancakes.

This diner has been here at long as I can remember since 1992. Rumor has it that it was the original site that inspired the SNL sketch of cheeseburger cheeseburger with John Belushi back in the 70's. The have excellent and fast food with a comfortable bar counter and booth seating. My favorite is a cup of joe and a grilled muffin to go.

WOW…. Love this place. Classic American diner vibes. Has anything and everything you want from a diner. Excellent service, authentic American breakfast, even the cooks had those fun little hats on. Loved every moment. And extremely affordable. I shall return.

Neighborhood staple. The food comes out so fast and it’s all amazing. I cannot get enough of their pancakes, and the pork sausage is perfect. Friendly staff, great prices, and the best neighborhood.

Nice little shop on the corner. Bring your cash because they don’t take card. But I just got a vanilla cappuccino and it’s yummy lol and I don’t really drink coffee like ever so this flavored cappuccino works for me. I would go back here I wish they had indoor dining.

It's everything you want in an old school Brooklyn luncheonette. Great coffee. Good food served fast and with friendly service. Usually room at the counter which is good because I'm usually alone. The only reason I WOULD have left off a star is because they don't have a public wifi. I really need that at the time that I go to lunch there. I decided to give five stars because these places are disappearing and I love them so much. Prices also totally reasonable. I love that these days.

I've been coming here for over 25 years. First as a neighborhood resident, and now whenever I come back to visit. It's timeless! Timelessly GOOD. Everything simple, yet Done to perfection! Wonderful staff, great local patrons. Truly a Clinton Hill/Ft. Greene institution! The place should be landmarked. I ❤️ Mike's!

This is a great breakfast place right across from the Pratt Institute. They have great prices and tasty food. Service is also quick and you can stop in for a quick bite. I had the chicken and waffles and they were great. I recommend you stop in if your in the area, just make sure to have cash on hand because it is cash only!!

What happened to this place? When NEW BROOKLYN goes wrong. There use to be a line around the corner on the weekends. I should have known something was wrong when we were seated immediately. I ordered an omelette with peppers, onions and cheese. I got chunks of peppers and onions on a lightly scrambled egg with cheese. The "potatoes" were a mile high of starch I refused to touch. My food was served on a paper plate. Isn't everyone vaccinated can I have a real plate now, BROOKLYN WE OUTSIDE. Actually I should have left when the waiter didn't know if they had eggs Benedict, guess what they don't ????? Must be a new cook, new management idk something, very disappointed.

My Loxahatchee friend and his mother had a swell time here. It wasn't as good as a South Florida breakfast but it did fix their hankering for a wakey wakey eggs and bakey. 5/5, chef Miguel can make a mean fried egg

Mike's use to be my favorite Coffee Shop until after the Pandemic. Now they serve ALL YOUR FOOD AND DRINKS ON PAPER PLATES AND CUPS. THE UTENSILS ARE PLASTIC FORKS AND KNIVES. Personally I enjoy eating my food on real plates and cups and silverware. The food hasn't been that great either.

One of best diners in NYC. Another reviewer left a kind review that mentioned no need to go out of the way to come here, but if you’re looking for a nice stroll on a fall day or sunny day, I think visiting here and Fort Greene Park would be a solid afternoon or morning 😊. Prices are better than average. You don’t really get diners like this unless you live in an old established neighborhood.

A perfect establishment—solid breakfast food, kind servers, and a vibe that reminds me of going to breakfast with my dad as a kid. Other diners in the city are at least twice as expensive and don’t provide half the warmth or charm of this place. Thank you thank you Mike’s!!!

Don’t be fooled by the 4.6 star review because it’s rlly a 3.0. Being a breakfast and lunch spot the food wasn’t the best. I ordered a simple any style two eggs , with a side of meat , and hash-browns and pancakes it was mid and tasteless . The service there was good and the waiter was hospitable and the food came out really quick. But the overall score should not be a 4.6.

Old-school NY tons of ❤️ love + soul. Owners + staff were awesome. Felt welcomed + well fed. An unique atmosphere that captures quintessential Brooklyn. This is what being in BK is about. If you're in Brooklyn, this is a place you must visit. Located in Clinton Hill on DeKalb Avenue & across from a Pratt Campus.

This diner is an endangered species around the city: no-nonsense breakfast and service with quick turn-around. Their breakfast sausages are huge and delicious, and the coffee is basic in the best way possible. You won't get a gourmet experience, but the value cannot be beat for this taste of old New York.

An absolute classic - best and most legit diner in the area. Get the sausage egg and cheese on a toasted English muffin. Check out the picture of the owner on the wall from 40 years ago, and compare it to him now - he sits at the cash register every day, greeting customers and holding court. Truly a gem.

Mike's is an institution. While the food may not be presented beautifully or prepared with any grace, the taste and authenticity more than make up for it. My waffles are always fluffy, my bacon always crisp. My grits are always flooded with an appropriate amount of butter, and the coffee is served in mugs made from thick, bomb-grade porcelain. Nothing is fancy, everything is good. Come with a friend on a rainy weekend morning and experience heaven.
