Altitude Brooklyn Coffee

Cafe Coffee shop

🫤 Just paid $6+ for steamed oat milk. I was walking around the neighborhood and saw they had a sign promoting their seasonal drink, butterscotch spice latte. I had been wanting to check out this place so I thought it was the perfect opportunity. I got my coffee and walked over to the nearby French bak... My top 3 coffee spot in the area. Their latte is great, creamy yet with strong roast flavor. Place itself looks cool with indoor and outdoor seating.

One of my favorite go-to coffee spots in the neighborhood. You're missing out if you don't try the cafe menu. The salmon tostada and the burger on the weekend brunch menu were absolutely incredible.

Just paid $6+ for steamed oat milk. I was walking around the neighborhood and saw they had a sign promoting their seasonal drink, butterscotch spice latte. I had been wanting to check out this place so I thought it was the perfect opportunity. I got my coffee and walked over to the nearby French bakery to get a pastry to go with my coffee. When I took my first sip, I only tasted milk and a little bit of caramel. I went back to nicely ask if maybe he had forgotten to add the espresso, to which he proceeds “there is no espresso in it, but you can add some if you’d like (for an extra charge.)” I was so confused, I asked if I was understanding correctly and it was a latte with no espresso, to which he responded “latte just means milk in Italian.” I’ll give that to him as it is true latte means milk in Italian, but not even on my travels in multiple cities of Italy I ever got a latte with no espresso. I really wanted to like this spot, but never again. Go to the nearby French bakery or even Variety or Mixtape where they put coffee in their coffee drinks. I tried adding my own espresso to it at home but then all the ingredients separated 🤢

BEST tasting Coffee period. I love that this place experiments with different roasters in brooklyn and does it really well. The Baristas are passionate. Love their take on the traditional Horchata with a shot of espresso. Kid’s love the Guatemalan/Mexican hot chocolate paired with a ham and cheese croissant. My go to is always the cortado-best in town. Try their weekend brunch. Great twist of the traditional Tostada.

Honestly a bit shocked that the latte I ordered has no espresso in it! Latte meaning steamed milk w espresso shot in it all I got was just a milky nutty drink. It wasn’t bad but no coffee ruined it. Why make a drink that you have to ask for an espresso shot to be added to it when it’s apart of the coffee orders? Who just orders milk to drink that’s so weird.

Nice cafe with a good coffee menu. But my favorite part was the kitchen: beautiful omelette with perfectly cooked eggs, a fresh salad with an excellent bright acidic dressing, and potatoes that we're cooked through, that so many other places won't take the time to do.

Our Barista was incredibly friendly and sweet. Lattes were great, and the food is also top notch! Worth the stop, and we will be back!

On Tuesday, September 5th (in the afternoon), I ordered iced coffee but the Latino barista seemed a little bit rude. Since I felt uncomfortable I attempted to leave, and I accidentally knocked over my iced coffee; I didn't bother to apologize to the barista as I left. I did visit this coffee shop several times before without having any problems. Typically the food, service, and atmosphere is good.

Their caprese bagel is very good, however every time I order the potatoes they come extremely undercooked even when I put in the notes “extra crispy”.

Only noticed this place recently after living in Ridgewood for a couple years. Good coffee, great staff. Will return.

Really Good food, drinks are mediocre at best. The matcha is more of a muted grey-ish green color than the normal bright green I’m accustomed to when I order matcha. It tastes much too earthy which makes me believe they are either using poor quality matcha or culinary grade matcha (for baking only), as opposed to ceremonial grade tea made for drinking. Same with the chai latte I ordered, it was rather bland and mostly just a $6 cup of milk with a mild chai flavor. Coffee is good, but the non-espresso drinks need some work

Ordered a chai latte. It was really spicy with a heat similar to raw ginger. It was also gritty. I wasn’t expecting it. I called to make sure we got the right drink and the shop said they make it with powder and that it’s unsweetened so it’s supposed to taste like this. I think maybe they put too much powder in it. I tried sweetening it, but the taste is really strong not my preference, unfortunately. I’ve heard their other drinks are great tho so giving 3 stars.

The horchata latte was amazing and food was delicious! The cold brew was some of the best we’ve ever had and the barista was incredibly kind.

So impressed by the service here. Came in on the way out of town looking to get a quick breakfast. Unlike many coffee shops there was a dedicated chef in the kitchen preparing the food and it showed in the presentation and quality of everything we ate. The barista was friendly and efficient and the espresso and milk drinks were all excellent. Worth a stop!

Really nice little spot in this neighborhood - it’s such a chaotic and busy intersection of streets on the outside, that this is a cool little spot to come in and chill out. What I really liked is that they have a nice little seating area up behind the coffee bar, up about 3 or 4 steps, really great spot to enjoy your coffee and read, write, research, etc. Coffee was pretty good - the only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is because I didn’t try any food so honestly I just can’t say how the food is. But if your in the neighborhood and need a spot to chill out for a few minutes I recommend this location. Also nice clean little bathroom.

i honestly hate leaving reviews if it isnt a 5 star especially to places i visit often. this place is soo good! but they always have their grubhub ordering off. id order here way more often. Even though the food and service is pretty inconsistent its still tasty every time. (side note: the spicy mayo is too overpowering, the ingredients themselves are already so good!) also bring back the butterscotch latte and the old barista)
