The good: This little hole in the wall has a fantastic atmosphere and seemingly tight little community. I have been enjoying the tea's here and the benefits this place has offered me. The staff are generally all pleasant enough. Management seems to be doing their best with what they are working with. The drinks and cocktails are tasty and simple. The bad: From what I have seen and heard the ownership seems to not understand what the business is. They are so caught up in seeming relevant with competition around them that they have blinded themselves from understanding what makes the place good - The staff. They are all seemingly underpaid and trying to keep up with the whims of a remote owner. Overall this place has been special to me but from my own experience the lack of respect and livable wage for the staff is clearly stressing out the staff to the point that it effects their ability to deliver quality customer service. The owner needs to change their priorities. A raise is a better investment than an ice cream machine no repeat customer will buy.

Good Kava. Small space, can be a bit crowded. There's also a counter to the outside so you can order without going inside.

I come here from time to time. Recently had a bad experience with Maya. As I usually do. Everytime I order it's like she gets so annoyed that customers are asking her to do her job. And on top of that her drinks are sub-par compared to the other bartenders and when I ask her to make an adjustment she looks at me like I just insulted her life. Will be steering clear if Maya is working. 3 stars b/c everyone else is cool

I had a straight traditional kava, iced, earthy and tongue-numbing. Also a turmeric kombucha which was pleasantly bubbly and well spiced. Barista has great musical taste, chill lofi hip hop played at a subtle volume really added to the relaxing vibe. Only downside is no AC in the summertime (cooled somewhat by a breezeway), place is very au naturale.

Great menu and delicious pastries. Staff was not as friendly as other reviews had me to believe. I was new to Kava and did not get a lot of assistance. Also, the space was very small.

I love this place. Really awesome people working there and the positions are just as good. Not to mention the best teas in NYC.

Nice local Kava place I can walk to. I definitely wish there was more room and seating. You can order outside without having to go in which is a nice option. The drinks are definitely strong and they should be for the steep prices. Think like $10-$15 just for one. A little much but it’s Brooklyn. I kind of wish there were more flavor options but nothing liquid sugar couldn’t fix.

The experience wasn’t the best because the server Angie I believe was her name was kind of rude and not really welcoming. It was my first time visiting this place, she said she was leaving in 10mins so I felt rush.

The person helping us was incredibly kind and patient. They explained everything Kava to us since it was our first time drinking it. I really liked the Horchata-Kava mix but I feel like it wasn’t as strong as I’d like to get the full experience. The space is small but there is outdoor seating. Since it was warm, I enjoyed drinking my Kava in the park.

Im a fan. The first kava bar i ever experienced. Super chill vibes and strong tea. They have lil pastries too which i adore. Recommend grabbing one to go from the walk up window and heading over to Maria Hernandez to sip and dog watch.

The best. Good Kava, Kratom, Kombucha (on tap), really good coffee and espresso drinks. The staff are all cool and helpful at guiding you through the menu. Nice selection of comic books and the music is great.

Maya is 🔥she opened early for me and a friend and did so with enthusiasm even after I insisted we come back later so not to bother her. Also brought my dog water without asking, I’ve interacted with the manager before and honestly not my favorite person buuuut if they keep hiring ppl like Maya than this is gonna be the neighborhood spot forever.

I've frequented a lot of kava bars, but this one wins. The regulars are really friendly and the conversation is top notch, especially once you get to know them a little. I've made some actual friends here. Always great music. I love how they make everything the "old fashioned" way, on site, versus just buying it premade and of unknown origin. It feels like they take pride in having a good product. I've gotten sick off the drinks from some other kava bars, but not here. Great location too, there's a good Mexican restaurant next door, and the park down the street. Nice to work in here too, they're really open to that.

Acey and Maya were awesome, we came from Florida to visit this location. The Kava was pretty nice and the location was cozy.
