Velvet Brooklyn hosted my birthday party in November and it was above and beyond expectation. We were in the Velvet Lounge in the back. Firstly, the manager - Phil, responded to me within minutes of my initial inquiry which made my venue search much less burdensome. I went to check out the place and everything looked pretty good from the lounge seats to the lighting to the separate bar and bathroom for the back lounge, to the DJ equipment and sound system (to bring in your own DJ). It is a grown and sexy vibe and the velvet accents are a nice touch. You will not have to worry much about decor here - which saves time, money and mental energy. I checked it out a few more times before the event and it felt like the venue was getting better and better every time. I hosted 45 people comfortably in the back. The bar staff was great and helpful. The food options like the wings are great. And the pricing for such a venue in the heart of Williamsburg was great. And I was able to apply a high level of creative direction in how the party looked and felt - very customized. 10/10 recommend! Much obliged, VB team.

I had the most amazing experience at this venue for my engagement party!! Jose was incredibly professional and an absolute joy to work with!! Give this guy a raise! He deserves it 😜… We had our event on a Sunday and rented the entire venue and it was just the perfect size for my party of 75!… I had a dj come in to play all the best music… I order Finger foods in house as well as from an outside caterer and Jose managed the set up of everything along with my hostess 🤗… the staff pumped out amazing Dranks like the “Jesús special” 😉 and all the servers were sooo polite and friendly it’s like they were part of the party too!!🎉🎉💃🏾🎉🎉 This venue is an absolute must to small intimate events to bigger crowds! My guests had an amazing time! Soo much fun .. thank you so much to the velvet room for an awesome experience..

My husband and I had our wedding celebration here and it was everything we ever dreamed of and MORE. Phil went above and beyond to make our night absolutely perfect. Everyone was in awe by the beautiful space and the service. It did not need one ounce of decor. Couldn’t recommend Velvet enough for any and every event!

Great place for good jams and vibes. Been here for both jazz events and parties and can’t complain, this place is a vibe and sounds very good. Food is on the small-bite side so if you’re hungry, don’t recommend this spot. If you want drinks and vibes in a very beautifully decorated, prohibition style-esque environment, this joint is for you.

DO NOT TRUST their event packages. We agreed to an open bar with appetizers, but they served only 3 plates of food for 50 guests! I'VE NEVER BEEN SO EMBARRASSED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! They ruined my wife's 50th birthday and made me look bad in front of all our friends.

We did a buyout of the space for a late-night private event and it was fantastic. We looked for a bar with a classic New York vibe, is furnished nicely, and is more intimate so our group of 80-ish guests would feel like they were at a buzzing bar but still had the room to be comfortable. We also needed space for a 7-piece band and an area for dancing and the back room at Velvet was perfect for this (they even have their own disco ball!). The bartenders and staff were wonderful and kept drinks flowing all night. We were so happy we decided to host our event here and highly recommend Velvet if you are considering this!

This is such a nice place. Went there for a friend's birthday. We had the entre place. The ambiance was nice. Loved it. Finding a parking...not so much so get there early.

This was the perfect location for my husband's surprise 40th. The staff and service was exceptional. The owner and manager were great and super helpful with the event planning and throughout the night ensuring things ran smoothly. I also ordered a custom box of cigars that truly impressed. Our guests absolutely loved the ambiance of Velvet. Great drinks, great service, great lounge...GREAT NIGHT! Highly recommend for any occasion.

I celebrated my 30th birthday at Velvet this past weekend and it was beyond anything I could have imagined! I had the best time with my friends, who also said the venue, drinks, and staff were amazing! Would totally recommend for hosting any big milestone event or celebration. And huge shoutout to the Velvet staff: Phil, Taya, and Junior for taking such great care of us. Thank you so much 🙏🎉🫶

I wish I could give zero stars. The bartender paid absolutely no attention to me and ignored when trying to order a drink. He was more invested with flirting and watching the soccer game. I ordered my drink and waited over 10 minutes (there were less than 10 people in the space), and he never made our drinks. Just went over and conversed with another woman. Certainly don’t want to play the race card, however he served everyone else but me so not sure what else to think. Very disappointed.

Hosted a private birthday party in their back room and had an amazing experience! The team was easy to communicate with, everything offered in the private party rate was better than most venue spaces in the city, and Jason worked nonstop to make sure everything was running smoothly day of. The space is beautiful and spacious as well; 10/10 recommend hosting an event here!

Great vibes and great cocktails. Speakeasy style back room that’s perfect for private events that are actually private! Cigars for sale to smoke outside which is great for the spring.

My mother had her 70th birthday with 60 of her closest friends ☺️, at Velvet Brooklyn, in the private event space. It was the PERFECT venue and has everything that's needed to throw the a classy and sophisticated event. The owner, Phil, is as awesome as they come. He is incredibly patient, super professional, very reasonable and just a all around great person to work with! Would 100% have another event here! Phil, thanks for taking such great care of us! 🙌🏾

The environment was so not cute, the waitress who literally took our order asked my friends if they were even paying customers, honestly I’d over look this as it’s maybe been a long day for her. But the drink called “Silk” guys has no one told you it smells like tuna AND TASTE LIKE TUNA?! anyway thanks for the cat food drink. Maybe take it off the menu? Edit: I’m not the one who paid darling. That would be the people your waitress yelled at for using the bathroom as PAYING customers. (8

I hosted a party at Velvet Brooklyn in the back room, and it was an excellent experience. Phil made everything easy. The food and drinks were great. I'd highly recommend it for private events.

Girl that greeted us Sunday night was ultra rude and condescending. We turned around and walked out to one of the countless other bars in the area.

I like the place. Haven't been here in years until last weekend and was happy to do so. Attentive and very cordial staff.

One of the most incredible bars I've had the luxury of patronizing! Discovered this place on a first date and even in the age of quarantine, our host was lovely and understanding of our need for cover from the rain. The specials were Peach Sangria and Watermelon Margaritas! I had the Watermelon Margarita and my date had the Peach Sangria. We were so well treated. Once the rain stopped and we were able to enjoy their outdoor seating, my date and I felt comfortable engaging in a long, engaging conversation over the exquisite cocktails. Once it's safe to dine indoors, no matter how far away in the future I'll return to get a taste of the ambience inside, which is a must-see!

My husband and I had a great time sitting at the bar. The drinks were delicious and the staff was great! The atmosphere was also very nice and chill on the Monday night we went.

Fantastic place with a great atmosphere, super friendly staff, and delicious small bites. Lebanese specialties hit the spot for a late dinner paired with a crisp Almaza Pilsner (refreshingly good Lebanese beer). Ok, maybe a couple. Great choice of cigars to enjoy al fresco, which was a delightful surprise I was happy to take advantage of. Jesús was awesome and kept everyone well “hydrated”! Thank you!

Jesus was awesome! Made great suggestions; sangria and espresso martini were delicious! Noticed I was buttoned up, asked if I was cold, then made hot drink suggestions. Jesus also showed us the back area, which is lovely for a private get together. My friends were already plotting on their next visit and private party. I'm not a smoker, but my friends are. They loved the cigar selection!

Phil was fantastic in helping me arrange a wedding celebration for my friends and family. Really appreciated everything he did to make the night special. Highly recommend!

I had my birthday there and it was such a good time! We got table service so we were in the front portion of the bar which made it intimate but not too secluded from everyone. It was such a good vibe and we were very well taken care of. I worked with Jason to put together a good package for me and my party and we all had a blast. I would definitely recommend
