This is really close to my house but I have never went. My friend suggested this place so I said why not.The food is okay I doubt I would be coming back. I ordered curried snapper and it taste nothing like curry. I also order milk and honey which was bailey irish cream and Irish mist. It was nothing special just baileys with a cherry. I did like that they had baileys because i dont see it in alot of places and it is somethng i like to drink. However, it was my firstrst time going to a resturant where no water was given, i drink in a plastic cup and the utensils were plastic. The menu was old so they really need a upgrade. The music was great though.

Cool lil spot off Nostrand and Ave D... Went in with the 'after work ' crowd. Music, food and drinks were good. I would have ordered another drink but the bartender/waitress started getting busy & our ride came faster than expected. Service was friendly. Me & my cousin has a good time. Would definitely go back & recommend. The bathroom was clean too.

First time there last night/this morning. I don't forsee myself going back. Ordered "cod fish cake". It was unseasoned potato mush that smelled like cod fish but there was no cod fish in it. It was cool in the inside like it needed more cooking time. The steak cut french fries were cool in the middle as well. The music was ok.

Nice local restaurant, we went there on a slow night. The music was excellent and playing at a reasonable volume. The food was delicious and plentiful. Drinks were good and the service was prompt. We plan to return there again to sample other items on the menu.

A quick trip to the city landed us here so glad I came. The vibe was amazing. My waiter was super attentive and we didn't feel rushed at all. It was a Sunday night so it was pretty laid back there was music and some dancing. I would definitely recommend coming here.

I frequent this bar because it’s in my neighborhood and I have been a loyal patron up until this point. I’ve been served by Derek three times and his attitude has never been nice to me or others. On 1/25/24 Bartender DEREK , age 55, started closing the establishment around 1am when closing is in fact at 2. By 1:30 my brother and I were being forced out because “No one is here, you can say what you want to say and I don’t care. I’m not Katie, I close when I want; it’s raining you have to get out.” To be referred to as “nobody” when I religiously support this establishment is a complete slap in the face and utterly disrespectful. Katie is the bartender that normally serves me and she is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. When I asked for her, Derek was not pleased and said that she doesn’t work on Thursdays, as if I didn’t have a right to ask for her. I noticed another customer trying to order and ask questions, as she was not from the area and being that it was her first time, she was inquisitive. DEREK had the most dismissive countenance toward a first time patron and it made me so uncomfortable, I felt the need to engage in conversation with her, to show her that Brooklyn has a better reputation than what Derek was displaying. When my brother ordered a shandy, Derek refused to serve him until I repeated the order. I ordered two drinks and a shot— before I could sip the second drink, he slaps a to go cup in front of me and never brought the shot. Other employees can attest to my tolerance of alcohol, so that was not the issue. Derek simply did not want to be there. The point of going to a bar is to unwind from the stress of the day— my life is hard as it is, why am I being bullied by a bartender that clearly does not want to work at the establishment in which he is employed? Why are business hours not consistent with google? If I want to tell people about my neighborhood bar, should I tell them not to go on Thursdays to avoid being disrespected? I try to support my people as often as I can but the treatment I received was unacceptable and downright disrespectful. One of the employees from the kitchen even came out and apologized for my experience because “no one likes working with him”. As an establishment in the service industry, Sip n Chat needs employees that give consistent service, and discontinue employees who make paying customers feel like they are “nobody”. Derek is clearly unhappy in his role as bartender, and paying patrons as well as other employees are having a bad experience as a result. Correct it, please.

Have past this spot many times. Friday was our girls nite and we decided to try a couple of different places Night started off rocky, as we got to the last two places( this one being the last). As we entered, it was crowded( of course, Friday). We went downstairs and had a BLAST!! Bartender, he was awesome & atmosphere. Didn't but will be back to try. Thanks for ending our girls nite on a high note!!

I was confused: Is it a restaurant or a lounge or a bar. They have so much crammed into that small place. You can barely move. The music was good but nowhere to dance or catch a vibe.

It's a nice lounge to vibe to music and chill. Many persons showed up and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Persons where on the outside waiting to come in as inside was full to capacity.. The food was delicious I loved their coconut shrimp as well as fish fingers. The virgin strawberry smoothie tasted good too was just a bit too sweet though.

Bought 2 drinks then decided to go downstairs but was stopped at the velvet rope for a drink receipt. Went to bar and assumed manager blew me off until bartender explained that I had bought drinks. Security saw the exchange and granted me access to an empty dance floor...are you kidding me...this place is washed

I came in there with a cane and a limp, but the staff was so kind. The deejay was great. The drinks were poppin and the crowd was cool. Loved this place!

This was my first visit, so I had no expectations, but it was an amazing experience. It was Sunday early evening, so it wasn’t crowded. The vibe, the music, everything. Their curry shrimp was amazing, although, I could’ve used two more lol I would definitely return. The drinks were good too! If you’re looking for a lowkey Caribbean spot, this is the place. Parking can be tricky, but it’s NY so plan accordingly.

It's a nice spot to just sit and have a drink and cool off after a stress filled day. Workers were extremely polite and service was quick and efficient . Not fun filled though

If I could give them less then one star I would. This was the second time I went to this establishment, and the customer service was horrible! The first time I went there me and my girl didn’t even stay, no one seated us or offered to serve us. We left! The second time I thought it would be different, the server was rude, and nasty. Never supporting this business again!

Grown 'n sexy Jamaican spot with music and prices aimed towards an older clientele. Good customer service, ice cold beer. In a neighborhood with few bar options, this is a decent spot to stop in for a drink or two.

Service was to be desired. Wasn't seated but instead had to seat myself. Was told only appetizers after midnight...which were quite pricey. For the lack of patrons in the establishment, the food took longer than expected. Didn't appreciate that the gratuity was included for 2 people AND it was $26 for mediocre service! Although the wings and coconut shrimp were good, doesn't downplay the lackluster service.

Went there on a Saturday. It was packed, waitress was nice, but took forever (about an hour) with drinks and food. Also the people that came after us had faster service (within 10 minutes). Food was cold also. Can't believe I was so excited to get here for the service to be so disappointing like that. Good music though.

My service at this lounge was not pleasing and I come here frequently . I was served by a bartender who appears to be an older man and he was being rude . His dominator was coming off as if he did not want to be there . He was ignoring my friends & I while we’re trying to order & being passive aggressive . This is not professional and he should be held accountable for his actions .
