Take a picture of your check and compare it to your credit card charge! The bartender (or someone else) decided to add an additional $3 tip to my check after I crossed out the tip section and wrote “cash”. Thankfully, I took a picture of the receipt and the cash tip I left. What’s even more upsetting is I left a $5 tip for two drinks which was a 20% tip. I will never return here. Please be mindful of your checks!

Young Ethel's is exactly what a neighborhood bar should be: a fun and light atmosphere to drink, with the added bonus of a stage for showcasing local music and comedy. I'd been to this spot in its previous incarnations and had some underwhelming experiences (to say nothing of former owners' obnoxious reputations). Ethel's qualifies as a huge improvement over its predecessors on drink quality and service alone, but they also do a great job of welcoming local talent and being a positive presence in the community. I highly recommend the weekly Wednesday comedy show with Dan Wilbur and Zach Sims!

A cozy, warm vibe at this chill spot in Park Slope. Friendly bartender, good beer selection, relaxing back room with couches and stage for open mics, music, and entertainment. Clean. Some throwback design (Nirvana album on wall), and some tasty filling munchies if you’re hungry.

Cozy joint! I think I got an old fashioned and it was absolutely drinkable. Also there was a band playing and they were, you know, figuring it out? But their moms and dads were in full attendance and you’ve gotta give it up for that familial support system baby!

Super cute, fun bar with delicious drinks and great vibes!! For real though - the frozens are incredible. The BEST froze in NYC, hands down. The little stage in the back has awesome music, comedy and other stuff! This is the perfect spot for a date night, meet-up spot, casual day drinkin - whatever! Love this place!

Visited over 2 weeks in November and drank the frozen margaritas and frozen ciders almost every night. Tried lots of other places, but always ended up back here.

Chaotic, which is fine if you’re a kid. Which most of the patrons are lol. Went with my niece and we had to dodge flying children left and right. Best to go when it’s not too busy, or maybe not at all given the pandemic. There were no temp checks or mask enforcement afterall.

Saw an improv show here. Very cool. Fun atmosphere with old style pin ball machines. Good drink prices. Gender-neutral restrooms. The only thing that I didn't like is that they don't like accepting any form of tap-to-pay. Staff is very nice and attentive, though.

Fun comedy, improv and music nights here and great drinks. friendly staff and a cozy/fun vibe make this a great neighborhood staple.

Such a great spot. They have a great, affordable selection (with plenty of mocktails and nonalcoholic drinks for those who don't drink), the staff is friendly and helpful, and the backroom is a blast when it comes to comedy and staged readings. Highly recommended.

Young Ethel's has a relaxed, fun vibe, friendly bartenders, affordable drinks, and great free events in the back! It's like a refuge and an antidote to bars in NoMad, Midtown, etc. When I get tired of those, I head back to Brooklyn, specifically Young Ethel's, and always have a great time 💜

Was there to perform in a comedy show in the back room which happens every other Tuesday at 9pm. All the comics were funny, it was a great audience. The backroom is kitsch and has pinball machines. They also have frose and frozen margaritas. Really cute bar, I would come back just to hang out.

Great place to meet up with friends and even see a free show. The folks who own and work at the place are as nice as can be and treat everyone super nice. The place has a cool look and vibe as well. If you are in the area check it out for sure and if you are lucky you might catch one of the many comedy shows they do. I just wish I lived a little closer.

Nice staff. Cool atmosphere. Taco truck just outside with amazing tacos for only $2. During the week free shot with your first draft. Best deal in the neighborhood. Owners are totally cool. Pinball in back. if you're lucky some kind of a cool event in the back as well. I plan to come to this place often
