The Amazing Waterfront Museum The 1914 Barge has been restored beautifully. So cool to be shown around by Captain David who lives there and to find out about the history of the barge and the area. Free to enter, but you can give a donation if you wish. Only open on Thursdays (4-8pm) & Saturdays (1-5pm) - I was lucky to go on a quiet Thursday evening which meant I was the only person there. Plus got some Amazing views of Statue of Liberty at Sunset from right outside the Barge. If your visiting from May onwards they hold lots of different events, so best to check there website :)

This is one of the places you should visit if you want to get to know Brooklyn better. On Saturdays in particular they have events there as well. The place is small so the tour will be quick unless there is an exhibit in there. One of the times I went there was an wonderful artist show and I stayed and talked to the artist for about 20+ minutes. Learn some water history, see some cool stuff, and the scenery of the area helps too. Head over there and give them a look. It may not be for everyone but make no mistake you will learn something and it's will be an interesting tour. Ask questions and explore. And don't forget to donate!

A barge with very well preserved aesthetics and artifacts. A short experience so make it a stop on your trip to Red Hook or be on the look out for any shows going on in the museum.

An unbelievable boat to be on. All sorts of sea faring vessel memorabilia and paraphernalia to see. The bathroom is quite something as it's not got modern plumbing. Use the facilities, dump a couple cups of wood chips down the toilet!
