Quintessential
hipster
gastropub!
We
ordered
the
pre
fixe
menu
with
3
courses.
All
portions
were
extremely
small
(e.g.
Rib
eye
was
6
-
8
oz.,
so
if
you'd
like
a
heartier
main
course,
ordering
a
la
carte
would
likely
be
more
worthwhile
(18
oz
based
on
the
menu
description).
The
pouring
is
fun
and
you
get
a
some
background
on
how
the
technique
enhances
the
flavor
of
the
cider
(aeration
produces
effervescence!)
If
you're
not
interested
in
the
pouring,
it's
more
economical
to
order
a
retail
bottle
($10-$14
which
is
about
3.5
glasses
vs.
the
pour
which
is
$8/round/person).
The
vegetable
and
chorizo
appetizer
was
half
a
head
of
roasted
garlic
with
Japanese
yam,
carrots,
and
oyster
mushrooms
topped
with
2
tiny
links
of
chorizo.
We
enjoyed
the
butternut
squash
soup.
It
was
perfectly
creamy
with
some
texture
from
the
roasted
garlic.
Our
bacalao
tortilla
was
incredibly
salty
-
the
pairing
with
cider
helped.
It
also
tasted
more
like
a
breakfast
quiche.
The
ribeye
was
my
favorite
part
of
the
meal.
The
crystals
of
sea
salt
were
perfectly
distributed
and
did
not
overwhelm
the
dish.
Two
types
of
cider
were
available
during
the
pouring.
The
one
in
the
New
Release
barrel
was
nicknamed
"Johnny".
It
had
a
similar
profile
to
crisp,
dry
white
wine.
The
other
was
from
the
Baby
barrel
and
was
more
tart.
