This place exceeded my expectations from all aspects! The food, the service and the vibe! Being unfamiliar with Trinidadian food and the menu, we had many questions and the lady who took our order explained everything so patiently. She and the owner even gave us treats on the house that we didn't order! What is this unfamiliar hospitality that I don't experience living in Manhattan!? Even the customers in line were nice, chatting with us about their favorite items from the shop. Food wise everything was delicious, freshly made, and tasted like home cooking. Much better than de hot pot that I tried the other week. My favorite were the chicken soup (could get without the meat), the double (roti skin no sugar!), and the coconut roll which was warm and flaky! Would love to come back to try other things.

I hadn’t planned on coming here until I walked passed and saw a line out the door. After chatting with a couple customers I found out it was really the baked good many folks were after. the biscuits were nice and tender and not to chewy or dough almost a little crumbly and quite enjoyable. The doubles were spicy but flavorful, as was the chicken roti. The buss up was quite flaky and tender, perfect for scooping up stewed meat or vegetables. The Chinese food house special was also really well seasoned and flavorful, not to salty like Chinese food can normally be. This spot is a winner for sure! Also the bag of little almost pretzel like sticks called Kurma are to dieeee for. Light, crunchy and sweet they are very much addictive. And the prices are so affordable compared to other restaurants in the area.

I got a referred from a friend of a friend to check this place out it is clean the atmosphere was good and the line was not long when I arrived there. Since I was told that there is a long line all the time. The bread is tough after cool down hot is the better to eat. A little chewy. The bread pudding was not cook fully half raw inside full of sugar. The rock cake with the cherry on top was not cook fully either. the sticky bun was good. For a total of $12 it is a shame to throw out pastries that was not cook fully. Only the sticky bun was edible. Thanks to the person who referred me. But I shall not going back.

Deep in BK, we were at the children's Carribean parade and we saw the line outside so my better-half knew she had to try it. It was so good, some type of wrap with curry-type oxtail with rice. She also got a meat pie and it too was splendid. When you go here get in line, smile to your line neighbor and know what you want when you get to the counter and SPEAK-UP so they can hear you. They will do you right. Authentic food, made with care and comes out hot

I got recommended to this place. It was good. The ingredients were fresh, veggies super crunchy which is important to me. I ordered the honey garlic chicken meal that comes with vegetable fried rice, lo mein and chow mein. It comes with a ¼ upper breast, which I would have preferred the dark portion however it was cooked perfectly. The sauce was muddy and I didn't taste the garlic or honey so they may want to tweak that sauce. It comes with condiments delicious pepper sauce of which you only need a ¼ of a teaspoon of if you have a baby mouth like me... it goes a long way!!! The portion is shareable and awesome for the next day!!! I cannot cosign anything else. I would recommend they get a website and online menus tho.

Since my favorite roti shop relocated, i decided to try this spot. I ordered the chicken roti today with sorrel. Everyone was ordering the lomein and the baked goods.. I was wondering if I should cancel my order and order that… I should have followed everyone else. The roti skin was soooo thick like the doubles dough, photo attached… the curry had no channa only potatoes with the chicken .. The curry tasted like the curry from goat curry. I wasted my money… The Sorrel was straight water and sugar as you can see how clear it is from the rim of the bottle. .I am ashamed to say that this is a Trini spot??????

The trini items are almost perfect. I'd go back for the pastry and the doubles. The store is busy and the staff is helpful but its Chinese menu portion leaves much to be desired. I had to pull out my wok to cook to my taste.

This place is incredible. Goat Roti is out of the world, and the portion you get for $12 is absolutely enormous. Patties and doubles are excellent too. Currant roll is a must get, if they have it. Can’t believe it took me so long to try this spot!

Their hours on the door and on their site say that they open at 10:00 am. Yet when you get there they do not start serving until 10:30 and even then, they only have doubles available. They don't take debit cards...It's time to get with the times!!! The lady there is very very nice. The guy is a jerk. He should leave the customers to her and do something else.

Bring cash to enjoy this amazing spot. Must try the currant roll. Currant rolls are available after 3PM. If you like coconut, you'll LOVE the coconut roll. It is flaky and came warm. If you like the texture of mochi, and you like almond extract, try the cassava pone. There if usually a line out the door so check before walking in. Line moves quickly and service is very kind.

So I walked past this place today hungry and saw a huge line so I thought this place must be good! I ordered two chicken roti and two doubles with everything. I had the doubles nearby at brooklyn library was delicious great flavours pepper sauce wakes you up ! Gave the second to a homeless lady. Had a bite of the curry chicken at home - very nice soft dul puree roti homemade style and chicken pieces big with potato liked it. Would visit again when in Bk.

This place is incredible. It is a busy shop and sells just amazing food. I LOVE the doubles. It was so tasty and made perfectly. I also tried the currant roll and fell in love. Everything tastes like back home in Trinidad 🇹🇹 The staff is so nice and so is the owner. They treat everyone like family! Highly recommend - go now, this will become a quick favorite ❤️ I look forward to being a customer for years!

Oh my this place is a jewel to be had in the neighborhood. The staff are friendly and helpful. I am unfamiliar with most of the items and they were patient to explain them to me. I got the beef patty and coconut raisin bread. The patty was perfectly spiced with a little kick and I loved the crusty dough. I will definitely return to try other food/bread items. Thank you for the menu on the wall. It was really helpful.

Everytime I'm in NY I must pick me up a box of the combination Chinese food. It's the bomb. I even took back two boxes home for my 2 daughters and fiance to have a taste. They enjoyed it to the max. There is always a long line going around the corner in the cold and in the heat. Food is great. The shrimp roti tasted dam good and had lots of shrimp as well. Not like some roti shops in Trinidad holding back on shrimp.Roti for your money at this place.

I was just at this bakery around 1:00pm on Saturday 06/24/2023. The owner was rude and felt like i was bothering him asking him to grab the different pastries. He felt like he didnt want to serve me. Poor customer service. I want my business to be earned. This was the 3rd consecutive weekend i had been there. I was helped the last couple of times but the short haired Black lady who was patient and extremely polite. Hence the repeat business. I will NOT be coming back. You are selling low dollar items and the best way to make money is to have repeat customers. I will be spending my hard earned dollars at your competitors.

It is a bakery, Caribbean and Chinese- caribbean fusion restaurant all at once. Some flavors and items were also quite similar to Indian food. The roughly 10 minute line is quickly made up for by the great taste and unbelievably low prices. The place is cash only but $20 will give more than enough for 2 people. The place doesn't look fancy or super clean but the taste, quantity and flavor make you forget about it. We had the roti chicken ($8), half chicken ($8), coconut roll ($2) and doubles (roti with spicy chickpeas and onions) ($2). The doubles were our favorite but all the others were also pretty good.

The atmosphere is always Vibez the customer service is amazing !!!! But as the years progress the food quality I’ve noticed is going down, bought a house special the other day the chicken smelled very fresh the chicken wasn’t properly seasoned well at all. The curry chicken roti I bought was tasteless. The food use to be bess back in the early 2000s from 2017 and on the taste hasn’t been the same. Bring back d West Indian chefs Olyuh, please !!!

Great shrimp roti. Love the skins and love how popular the place is. Was a little dismayed at this sighting (see video) but I guess that's par for the course in the food industry in NYC 🤷🏿‍♀️😩

Delicious. I owe the really nice guy at the counter for the experience. He could tell this food was new to me. He looked out for me, advising me about the sizes and spices and stuff, and what he liked that I might like, without being condescending. I felt like he cared about me having a good first experience with this food.

I was in the neighborhood and saw a line so I figured the food must be good and that line told no lie. I had the shrimp fried rice and then I said wth, let me try the curry chicken roti. Everything was very tasteful and you get a lot for your money. Will definitely visit again

This place is a gem! Certainly one of those places that lives up to their reputation and volume of reviews. The employees were super friendly and the lines move quick. I got the beef patty and coconut roll and when I asked what the circular pod like patty’s were (trinidadien style beef patty), the store owner was nice enough to include two of them on the house for me to try. The beef patty’s were excellent, just enough kick but you can still taste that it was quality. Crust was thin and meat savory. The trinidadien style was equally good, with a super savory filling and thin shell. The coconut bread was also very nice, packed with coconut shavings and this sweet filling. I am really glad I gave this place a try and would highly recommend if you ever find yourself in crown heights!

Delicious and unique food. Great portion sizes for not a lot of $$. I'm vegetarian and I always get the vegetable or potato roti and veggie soup. It really hits and is yummy and completely affordable in an industry that soooo often is not. Highly recommended

This is a very popular place for Caribbean (primarily Trinidad) take out only meals with nice portions, soft drinks baked breads, currant and coconut rolls, doubles, all are tasty. Prices are competitive, expect long lines. One wonders about the handling of the food and cleanliness as the entire preparation is not seen by the public. This place has a good reputation.

Came all the way from Bronx for some roti and doubles. It was worth the travel. I loved that it is also a bakery! It smelled so delicious inside. The services was fast and I didn't wait long. Only issues is its cash only facility--- so come with cash. Overall, great food!

They are experts! Fresh, top quality baked food. Lovely loaves of bread, flakey beef patties, dense boozy bread pudding. Good bbq chicken with lo mein too. Always bustling with hungry folk. <3

I travel from NJ to go to this place for doubbles and currents roll. I was disappointed about the currents roll but I bought chicken roti, goat roti, roti skins, doubbles, cassava phone, khurma and bread pudding. I have been a roti make for more tha 20 years in Trinidad for the Roti King Amin. This place did not disappoint me. BEST DOUBBLES, quick service clean environment. Applause to Trinidad golden place. I can recommend this place 100%.

The place is small and crowded, but it’s not noisy and the staff are fast and friendly. I had the curry shrimp with buss up and these fresh currant rolls. I also got the house special but that’s for another day. Everything so far was very tasty, more importantly, ample servings and affordable . Will patronize often🤣🤣

My dad raved about the food from here so he asked us to take him, The bbq chicken reminded me of what I'd get if I was in Trinidad. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The food was fresh and delicious. The doubles was pretty good as well.
