I walked into this place without planing at my first visit since I had an event near by but I arrived early. I found out that their housemate sour dough was amazing, so did their house made soda. As a result, I made a date with friends to try more items, and it was a great nice having the dinner here. All the ingredients were used professionally mixing together. All the flavors of the dishes was rich, layered, and creative. My favorite is the short rib. The meat was sliced and super soft! Almost melted in your mouth. The cabbage salad was impressive. The sauce on each leaf was evenly brushed on it with a well-balanced taste. The cheesecake was outstanding too. A good choice to end the meal.

Oxalis was such a seamless dining experience! I celebrated my birthday here today and I am so glad I made the right choice. I got the prix fixe menu at the enclosed outdoor space. I was concerned it would be chilly but it felt cozy. We were welcomed by a warm note and a surprise welcome drink on the house. Nothing from the menu felt out of place and the cocktails were also very delicious (I wish I had richer vocabulary because I am not doing them justice). The appetizer was my favorite. Sourdough is out of this world. My friends all agreed it was one of THE best bread we’ve had in our lives. I appreciated that the main dish was not overwhelmingly heavy—but by the end of our course I was still happily full. Our server was very attentive as well. I will definitely revisit!

Oxalis knows what hospitality means. I don’t know why I waited to visit until it had this special Filipino brunch on Filipino Independency Day, but I am very happy to see a restaurant advocate for diversified culture, very supportive for its talented chefs and provide a great platform for them to shine. And equally important, Oxalis took the customers feedback very seriously and sincerely. At the brunch, we enjoyed all the Filipino inspired dishes, but we had a bit concern about the service and decided to give the feedback. What surprised us was that besides the very sincere apologies from both the manager and the waitress, our meal was also covered by the restaurant. Although this wasn’t our intention, we were truly impressed by the way they taking care of the customers and our feedback. I’d love to keep coming back to the restaurant like Oxalis. Bravo!

Great experience at Oxalis for my first Michelin star restaurant in the US! Our favorites were the housemade sourdough bread, chicken, and brown butter scallops, but everything else on the tasting menu was also delicious. Service was impeccable. Prices are what you expect at this level in NYC (~$200/person including wine). I would come back again.

Amazing vibe. Amazing food. Amazing service. Small plate style. You will need to get 5-6 plates for two people. We got 6 plates. Including - One being the bread and butter and the last being dessert. Every plate is shareable. My favorite dish was the Kebab which is like mushrooms and arugula in a flatbread with special sauce.

Had an amazing experience here. I love their open view kitchen and welcoming staff followed by a cozy atmosphere. I loved sitting at the bar and taking a journey with my food. Let's not forget about those drinks too! My favorite cocktail (for now) is the pistachio and I love their sour dough bread. ugh that butter... I was really impressed to see that they had sake. I wanted to nerd out not many restaurants carry sake I like or a flavor profile I can enjoy. The presentation and then the staff; Albe it it may be small portions (I see alot of people complaining about that) they are filling and will leave you wishing you could retake that last bite of your favorite dish over again. Also, less is more, and I would rather have smaller portions to accommodate more dishes because why not try it all while it's still on the menu? As for the staff, they were chill and executed on making my night great. I would highly recommend this for a date night or if you want to have a relaxing evening or lunch.

I dined at Oxalis in January 2022, ordering the tasting menu. They served absolutely exquisite food.... and it easily the best meal I have ever eaten! The service was excellent, and the COVID protocols were fantastic. As for the menu, I absolutely adored every single dish I ate! The dishes were creative, bright, and flavorful, mixing ingredients that you would never imagine together. My personal favorite was the crispy turnip en presse with dried shrimp and fermented bean; it was an incredibly flavorful bite with some amazing textural elements! The carolina gold rice was another star, being the most incredible rice I have ever had. We loved the main proteins, including scallops, razor clams, and duck (especially the dry aged duck which was amazing!!). The dessert was a perfect touch of sweetness, with some amazing sorbet. The kitchen is also able to accommodate dietary needs as well. The meal was paced perfectly, and we did not leave feeling stuffed or rushed. Oxalis was absolutely phenomenal, you must try their amazing cuisine!

Outstanding experience overall. We did the 4 course bar menu prix fixe. The service is some of the best I’ve ever had (our waitress was super knowledgeable and kind, and for my birthday they wrote a note and brought us a mini cake). The food was mostly excellent (some just good, like the halibut) - especially the baked goods like the garlic panisse and the mushroom kabob was one of the most unique/best dishes we’ve ever had. Also props to them for a bespoke non-alcoholic drink menu.

This place had the most amazing brunch. The staff was excellent - we loved every moment at this wonderful restaurant. The best thing was the chickpea fried stick dish! Phenomenal.

Absolutely amazing brunch. This is how a Michelin brunch should be. Everything was amazing from the eggs to the maitake mushrooms. Overall the meal was a take on a diy breakfast taco with eggs, beans and corn. We did an add on of the mushrooms and it was a wonderful call. The family style portions may seem large when they arrive, but it was not too big where we were stuffed afterwards. If anything we wanted more of the savory course because it was truly that good. My partner even said shes mad it wouldn’t be the same menu every week because she wants it again(the brunch changes every week). The sweet course was good. Wasn’t as good as the savory, but still good with this yogurt and mixed fruit bowl. And once again we did an add on, this time a chocolate chip brioche(needed more chocolate). Will definitely be back to see what more they have in store. Be it brunch or dinner.

You will have high-end chef run restaurant without leaving Brooklyn. Their service second to none, from hostess to the bass boy everyone is pleasant and strive to make your experience as good as possible. We had missed our opportunity to have chef selection and use their regular menu. The quality of food as good as service, we really enjoyed their home baked sourdough bread, black bass and pork ribs. Also I personally, really liked their cream puff dessert. However I will advise you to skip on cheese and cold cuts, not like they weren't good, just not as good as everything else for their price. But all in all very good restaurant, reservation is strongly recommended

Oxalys, what a name in Brooklyn! Thanks to Steve (owner), Nico (chief), the so great pro staff and their beautiful patio, the upscale cuisine is just amazing, creative, tasty, excellent. Your palate will just receive the explosion of sense it deserves. Above and beyond! Friend and i took all the meals available, desert included!!

Amazing service and a ton of great dishes. The pairing will definitely enhance the tasting menu. The appetizers and desserts were the highlights of the evening. I appreciate that they took some risk for the entrees but it didn’t work for me but the people dining with me really enjoyed it. If you want to dine in you need will your vaccine card. I recommend coming here for a unique dining experience.

One of the warmest, most welcoming, and most attentive service I’ve experienced. The vegetarian brunch is a celebration of spring flavors. For $50, it’s really good value. I had trouble finishing the dessert as I was stuffed. The potatoes are bursting with flavor. The peas sweet and fresh with the zing of magnolia—an ingredient I hope to see become more popular. The piney shandy drink was rife with citrusy aromas, providing some lift to the surprisingly heavy meal despite all the vegetables. Excellent from start to finish.

Went here for a b-day dinner/date night sorta deal with my wife. Our table was in the back of the main building right before you go into a garden area. I thought it was a great setting, full of glass (at least from my current memory). We both had the drink pairings to go with prefixe dinner at 160 per person. Probably a reasonable price but I don't really know. One of the wines named after a horse(?) did smell like a barn to me which my wife thought was funny but that's just my opinion. This is not to say that it was bad but just what I smelled while drinking it. Favorite dish of the night was the chickpea block--like a tasty curried rectangle. Another thing that stood out was the bread and the really melt-y butter (make sure to use the salt with it!). And the last thing that stood out was the hake with scallop made to be like the skin of the fish. The others were good too but these stood out amongst the rest for my liking. Dessert was great and since it was a b-day, we got a pastry which you can see with the candle on it. Service was warm and friendly. Anyone looking to get dressed up a bit and enjoy a fancy-like dinner would probably want to come here and try what we did.

I've been wanting to go to Oxalis for a while and finally went last night. I will start with the positive. The service is incredible. As we walked through the restaurant to our table, we were warmly greeted by everyone. The menu is highly imaginative, using unique ingredients and preparation styles. The vibe is lovely. Our main courses, the coffee beef & black bass with carrot were both truly delicious. They were stand outs by far and I wish I had only had those two plates. The kebab was good, but served cold & it was a little too greasy for my personal taste. The farinata was mostly tasteless, w a smoked fig spread that left a strange taste in my mouth. We had pickled beets served over dandelion, which had a tannic, acrid flavor so strong I had to eat around it and only savor the beets, which were nice, but the pickling left them overly salty without enough acid for balance. The mackerel, one of my favorite fish, was nice, but again not stand out. Both deserts, the mochi cake with grapes and the chocolate and grain torte were delicious. The wines were also excellent. I felt the menu was creative but some dishes were not executed as well as others, and my expectation with Michelin restaurants is that every dish should be well prepared from start to finish. I would like to try their menu again, perhaps in the summer, but this time I was left disappointed.

Excellent mastery of sauces, thoughtfully paired with ingredients. Not overly seasoned, well balanced flavors and textures. Super beautiful mocktails - delicate, nuanced, whimsical, like fairies in a secret summer garden.

The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The service is phenomenal. Sadie our server was awesome! As for the food its very creative and innovative especially the squash dish however i think some of the dishes did not have a good balance of flavors. Also Don’t miss out on the non- alchoholic beverage pairing! i’ve been to many Michelin but this was a first to me. They did an amazing job.

Everything is phenomenal, food, service, atmosphere. The duck is my favorite and the bread is to die for. Squid hanabero stew is a surprising highlight. Will definitely come back.

Excellent food. I’m a vegetarian. We did a round of chef tasting + cocktail pairing. Cocktail pairing for every dish was outstanding. Highly recommend if you’re looking for chef tasting.

Oxalis' interior design is gorgeous––luxurious but very warm and green. Bread and butter was very nice. We had everything on the menu that day. I'd say the potato pave, the escarole, and the flounder appetizers were good, but a little bit simple and I thought the flavors could be stronger for the green sauce of the potato pave and the escarole. Stars of the night were the main dishes: rib chop and black bass. Both were great. The desserts were interesting. I didn't love them but the citrus tart was nice and the chocolate mousse has a weird texture––it seems like it was taken out of the fridge as the icing was immovable. Overall, we had a nice dining experience

We dined here for brunch on Mother's Day, having secured our reservation a month in advance as soon as their books opened. Upon arriving, we were shown to our table in the back atrium of the restaurant, adjacent to the bar and facing the back garden space. We each tried a brunch cocktail to start (French 75, Corpse Reviver, and a Mother’s Day special) before our food service began. The brunch format is simple, with one egg dish, a starch, salad, and dessert rounding out the four course menu. We enjoyed all of the selections, noting the freshness of the vegetables in the salad as well as the farm eggs. There were several a la carte choices to supplement the meal as well, and our kids enjoyed the omelette, bacon, and brioche. The basque cheesecake to finish was light and delicious. The wine list offered by the glass, while limited, offers interesting selections of organic and natural wines from the Old World. The service was friendly and patient with our two small kids. Definitely a great place for a celebratory meal at dinner, or a more casual offering for Sunday brunch.

Went to Oxalis to try their Michelin starred tasting menu at dinner. Some of the snacks were just good, but the Chaterelle with buckwheat and kelp was definitely a flavor experience, it was delicious. The main dishes had interesting flavor combinations, and the fish and beef were to die for, just melting in the mouth. I did not get very impressed with the deserts overall, I expected more. Service was good, but with past experiences in these kinds of tasting menus, I thought the time between servings for the main courses were longer than expected. The ambient was the real let down for me. I sat on a table very close to others, and felt inhibited and constricted. The dining room was also hot, and I sweating throughout a good portion of the night, probably because the A/C was not as high as it should, and I was sitting near the kitchen. The food experience was from good to perfect depending on the dishes, but the experience could be better overall.

Pretty good food but not my favorite Michelin star restaurant. I really only loved a couple of the dishes we tried. Most things were bland and underseasoned. I expected more for the price we paid. The service was good, but a little slow. I probably won't come back since the experience was mediocre at best

Absolutely loved Oxalis! Had Brunch there and the staff was so kind, food was light and on point for brunch, and the vibe was chill and comfortable. I’ll be back for sure

What an incredible find! We had tickets for an exposition at the Brooklyn museum and came here beforehand for brunch. It's a prix-fixe menu and it's well worth it! And every week they change it. This week we got french cuisine! It's the perfect amount of food; not too much to leave you stuffed, but not too little to leave you starving. The staff were incredibly welcoming. When we left everyone thanked us for coming. Felt like royalty.

Went to get fine dining from this Michelin-Star-owned restaurant. We got the Carte Blanche platter, which was $70 each. The food was admittedly very delicious, many of the bites were amazing and the flavors burst in your mouth. The tuna with squid ink was good. However, I have one huge gripe with this restaurant, and it was that we were here from way too long, from evening to nighttime. This is because the dishes came out super slowly despite finishing our portions very fast. The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent though.

Dining at Oxalis is easily in the top 3 dining experiences I’ve ever had in my 10+ years living New York. The service is incredible, the staff are so friendly, receptive, and adaptable. The food is impeccable (we opted for the Bar Prix-Fixe menu) beautiful presentation and even more palate-pleasingly delicious, the corn crêpe? Phenomenal. I awoke this morning still thinking about it. The vibe is immaculate, so much so I downloaded their Spotify playlist. My only gripe is the lack of agave spirits, which is quite possibly just a decision based on pairings. But I miss it all the same.

The best martini I’ve ever had! No joke. I loved all the cocktails I tried, but I’ll return forever for their perfect martinis. The bread and butter is also unbelievably delicious. Loved everything here!

The food doesn’t taste like anything you’d expect! They will surprise you, but in a good way. The stuff and the chef are all amazing and friendly. They’d make sure that you enjoy the food and service. Definitely going to come back for a different menu!
