This lovely spot has been on my list for some time now. I headed over at 9 and found a spot before the regulars arrived. I was greeted by the owner/chef and immediately fell in love with the friendly atmosphere and jazzy vibe this morning. I ordered their breakfast sandwich, added spinach and avocados and wasn’t disappointed.

Best latte I have ever had - and I have been all over this planet. An amazing breakfast place run with love and care, and food that is always a 10/10. I have found my new favourite cafe ever.

I love everything about this place. The sandwiches are delicious and the pastries delightful, especially with one of their espressos. All the staff are friendly and thoughtful. And the space itself is homely.

This is a super cute cafe/restaurant on Marcy Ave. The owner who runs the spot is so nice; she’s always willing to talk to you about the menu and make recommendations. The same is true for all the workers; they really seem invested in the restaurant and everyone’s experience. My go-to order here is the jerk chicken sandwich. The chicken is perfectly sliced and juicy. The bread is perfect; not too thick and perfectly soft (it won’t shred the roof of your mouth or take super human strength to break apart lol!). They grill the chicken at the restaurant, which is nice. In the past, I’ve had the side of cabbage which is good. All of the ingredients are locally sourced, so sometimes they run out of items, so I suggest getting lunch on the earlier side (circa 12) otherwise they may run out of what you want. The ONLY criticism I have is that everything is on the pricier side. The chicken sandwich is FIFTEEN dollars!! And it doesn’t come with any sides. I would love to come here more often, but can’t due to the price. I do feel good patronizing this spot but the prices are definitely up there.

I truly cannot emphasize how wonderful our experience was as the Doctor’s Cave Cafe. My partner and I had just seen it when scoping out a local bookstore, and I’m so happy we stopped in. The food was so light and flavorful, the coffee wasn’t too sweet and flavored beautifully, and the baked goods were the perfect finish to an amazing meal. As soul warming as the food was, the owner and staff paired with the cozy environment really made us feel like we had stumbled upon something really special. I am between the Hudson Valley and Brooklyn often, so I will make it a habit to stop in every time I’m in town. Thank you for the comfort and food you provide, because you really are doing it right. I will be sure to recommend this spot to everyone I know!

I have known this darling little cafe for twenty years! There is simply no other place like it! Casual breakfast and lunch fare that is made entirely by hand and heart. Sourcing the finest ingredients and creating delicious, home-made entrees-- the Jerk Chicken sandwich is my son's go-to just now and the soups are divine! We never leave without a dessert-- pumpkin cheesecake, banana bread with dark spices, and giant chocolate chip cookies made with fairtrade chunks of luxurious dark chocolate. Atmosphere is super welcoming and cozy-- a gen for Bed-Stuy and it will become a habit!

Great selection of food and drinks. The Jamaica coffee was great. Small selection of food, but is made to order. They also have baked goods. Some savory and some sweet. Small eating areas inside and out. It's definitely a place you can relax at.

We stopped in here the other day because we just live around the corner and immediately were greeted with “Welcome to the Cave. There’s no sand, no sea but it’s still a cave.” And we knew this was a hit. The food was tasty. The service was great. But, our favorite part was that it just felt like home. We will be back soon!

I LOVE this cafe. Everyone who works here is an absolute gem. The food is homestyle comfort cafe food, meant to satisfy you but be nutritious. Smoothies are delicious. Cant say enough good things, but hesitate to because I don’t want my favorite place to be overrun!

This is a great place with incredibly fresh food. I love it when the chef is cooking in a small commercial kitchen set up in plain view. Super nice and friendly and do not miss the blueberry almond flour vegan muffins. We bought 3 for the road back to ATX and were so happy we did, they are moist, with a really savory mildly sweet almond flavor! I’ll return here on my next visit to Brooklyn that’s for sure!

Stopped here quick because they have a bathroom, but what a delight! The atmosphere, staff, and decor were all amazing. I just got a quick latte (that was very strong), but I would come back for a meal.

Finally after here about it for many years, had the pleasure to eat there. Love Jean and Tom, but they have created a real oasis in their Bedstuy home.

This place is the absolute best. Family owned and run, they’re just the most friendly lovely people, passionate about what they do. Everything is freshly made on-prem., and great selection. Even have great tunes playing in the background. I stop by every morning for breakfast and coffee. Oh, did I mention they’ve a phenomenal espresso machine too! Open Tuesday-Friday from 8am. Definitely check it out, it’ll become your new fav spot in the neighborhood.

I had already had breakfast this morning, but when I saw this place walking home, I was drawn in by the cozy atmosphere. Ordered a bliss smoothie (so good!) and then hung out to read. Staff was really nice and checked on me while I was there. I am definitely going back to try breakfast and/or lunch soon and I'm bringing people. Really lovely spot. Doesn't matter if you are a long time or new resident of the neighborhood, you gotta try this place.

Honestly the most thoughtful and delicious BEC I’ve ever had. I ordered for takeaway but wanted to take a bite while it was hot and couldn’t stop until it was gone 🤩 every ingredient is thoughtfully sourced from farms around upstate and it honestly comes through in the flavour. Can’t wait to try every single thing on the menu

This is a jewel of the neighborhood. Incredible food made lovingly by a team of sweethearts. The vibe inside is so cozy, the menu is strong and there’s always an array of homemade desserts to choose from. Can’t beat it!
