homo-phobic and tries to extort money. i went to mission last night and me and my friends were on the list. when we were waiting in line, a bouncer went on a power trip and started yelling at my queer friend that they didn’t meet the dress code and then started implying we could pay the bouncer off to ignore my friend’s outfit. we didn’t want to pay so he yelled at us that “he was head of security” and told us to leave. we didn’t even say two sentences before they started yelling at us and we were respectful the whole time. mission has a reputation for being racist and homophobic and they live it out. not a safe space, and their bouncer tried to extort us.

I came here for a private event, so can't speak for the other reviews. I found the bouncers, staff and bartenders attentive. The space itself is nice with plenty of private table seating and spacious floor.

This place is legit RACIST, I would leave 0 stars if I could. They let Asians get in for free but charge every other race. They even charge them more for drinks. I can’t believe a place like this is allowed to operate in 2022.

This establishment is beyond racist! My friends and I were waiting on line and an Asian woman told us that specific line was for tables only and the other line was for general admission. We went to the other line and were told to step aside and wait. I asked the security guard how long is the wait and he rudely told me the line was for exit only. I explained that I was told that line was for general admission and he told us rudely to go back to the other line. As soon as we got on the other line a security guard told us we aren’t allowed in because we had shorts on. It was 80 degrees outside with humidity and there were plenty of Asian people that had shorts on and were allowed in. We were confused why we were told shorts weren’t allowed when we saw over 10 Asians with shorts and sneakers. On the way out a security guard tried to fight someone that was in his car which was very unprofessional. Also a guy was drunk to the point he couldn’t walk and the security guard was so mad he couldn’t walk, so he flipped the guy over the rail. Highly don’t recommend this place!! The rudest staff and super RACIST!!!

This was my first time ever in New York. I was super excited to visit Mission, heard a lot of good things…. HOWEVER… the bouncer with the white beard, big belly, tall for no reason… was EXTREMELY rude!!!! He had no respect for others. He kicked out my friend for trying to “sneak in” but my friend was standing outside waiting for us. (We never got in, because the bouncers accused us of something we never did). The bouncers/security guards were on a power trip, like relax your job is not that important. You can be replaced by anyone … that is breathing. Mind you this is on AAPI month. HATE CRIMEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Had a very nice night. after getting dissapointed by other expensive clubs . We searched for a while in the midtown area.compared to those this club jas entry for just 20$. Its agreat place for dance floor. Nice vibe. This is a great place will go again. You dont get drinks for the cover though. But nice beats and music. All lf the crowd is korean 95% is korean or asian.

Hard to find any positivity in this place. During the summer, you’ll sweat. Music selection is random, and low-quality drinks are overpriced. Security has some issues with foreigners who aren’t Asians, went with a western friend, asking us to pay. On other days if I only go with Asians… guess what? didn’t need to pay…

Possibly the worst club in NYC. Not POC friendly, they only allow orientals in. Bouncers are extremely rude. Ontop of that NO ONE dances. They all just stand there trying to get laid and have the nerve to get angry when you bump into them. Do not waste your money. This place is horrible and they play the worst edm remixes

What others are saying is True. Went for a friends birthday, and arrived later than the group. Bouncer was VERY rude and did not honor my receipt showing I paid for VIP with my group. Whatever.....I wait on GA line. Only to not be let in, while Asian people skipped ahead of me and got in for Free! I was Literally the next person in line and was charged. When I asked why the 2 groups of Asians in front of me got in for free, he laughed and ignored me. This place is horrible. I finally got in but we will never ever return to this place again. To top it off, the music selection is not even great. The sound system is weak compared to Mirage. And the vibe when you do get in is not a fun one. If you dont look Asian you are judged by everyone in the place. Beware!!!

This place needs to be investigated and potentially shut down. The racism is clearly evident. Basically if you're not Asian & White you're not getting in. I read the reviews and decided to go just to see if this was real. The line wasn't that big and there were groups of Asian (guys and girls) people in front of us all had their IDs checked and they walked in. Me and my friend (Indian and black male) both very well dressed come up. The fat black bouncer, looked at us and says "can I help you two gentlemen?!" We are waiting in a line to get into a club what do you think we are here for? He then says "there is a private event". It's a Saturday night in New York City at 11:30 - there's no private event! Basically I started laughing, looked at my friend and said, I told you this would happen, and we laughed and walked off. This place is either laundering money, is a front for some Korean mob or the owners are explicitly telling these people not to let white and non-Korean people in. Which literally makes no sense. Here in the most diverse city in the world.

Bought a table with friends for a friend’s birthday. I arrived separately and bouncer and owner would not honour the table purchase and let me in. Offered to pay cover to get in to say happy birthday to my friend and was asked to buy another table instead. If I am to guess, seems that if you aren’t light-skinned Asian, they really don’t want you in there and want to milk your money.

I have made reservation for owners table by the dj booth. When we got to the club at 11 they made us wait for 40 minutes to get in. I paid 3000 cash at the entrance. The y have us a table by the dance floor. First time coming to Mission trusting the employees which was big mistake. Ordered 2 bottle of most rose and a patron and the bill was 2850.00 I would never go back to this establishment.

I can't review the venue because like many of my friends before me, they wouldn't let me in because I am not Asian. Sad because race and ethnicity are not the same thing. One of the people they turned away happened to be Chinese, as well as a POC.

Nice venue with good music. We heard prior to entering that this was the "Asian club" of NYC and it was exactly what we expected. Music when we went was a mix between hip hip and EDM with some throwbacks thrown in randomly. No complaints we had a fun time.

It seems like it’s already been said multiple times but the bouncers here are doing a terrible job. They literally snapped my valid, state-issued drivers license in half. Comical but still frustrating. I’ve got to apply for another one now.

One of the worst clubbing experiences in my life. Arrived at the club around 1am and it was absolutely empty outside. When we went in, the dance floor is almost half empty and all the tables were vacant. The DJ only played EDM the whole night and the overall vibe was not there because people were not dancing. There was no variation in music and servers were rather rude. 2 hours in and an Asian bouncer asked my friend to leave because he was wearing sweatpants but he didn’t say anything when we went in. I was also wearing a cap and he told me that I had to check it in when a lot of people in the club are also wearing caps. We protested and asked if we could stay if we change but they kicked us out rudely. The Asian bouncer even threw our hats and jacket on the street while shouting. We saw the bouncer also kick other people out who were already in because of their “dress code”. Definitely would not recommended and really hope this place dies soon.

Pretty sad to see a place with so many negative reviews that are actually true. They will not give you the light of day if you are not a light skinned Asian. Before visiting I wanted to follow their instagram to learn more about the place but they rejected my request (they have 13k+ followers). I didn’t understand why until I read the reviews. I changed my last name on instagram to my mothers since it is a more stereotypical Asian name. I sent another request and they immediately accepted. Hurts to see a place like this representing Asians

As all the other reviews have stated, this place is horrible. If you do not look like a specific type of Asian then the bouncers/employees make it impossible for you to get in. Place is overpriced and have a 2 drink min for card, they have mandatory coat check that you have to pay for even if you don’t think what you’re wearing is considered a coat, and the employees are rude. Def do not come here.

I don't blame many of these reviews for missing the big picture, but you weren't denied because of "dress code" or "false accusations." You were denied because you aren't a specific race. If you've been to this club you'll understand. Good luck getting in if you aren't from the eastern part of the globe. Crazy how in a place like NYC these people aren't charged with hate crime or racism

I usually LOVE mission and always recommend it to my friends but tonight the coak check personnel was unbelievably rude. I've never experienced a worse coat check out. My friend had a picture of their ticket which was usually been okay, until today, which if it changed would be understandable but there was no mention of it. So when we went to check out the personnel refused to give their jacket back and called us the group children when we were trying out best to bring evidence to the situation of multiple pictures of our jackets in order and group. Really unfortunate. Update: when my friend did find their actual ticket they presented it and the coat check personnel said it was "lost" and "out if their control" so again really unfortunate bc we frequented this club alot but they must have changed coat check personnel so no longer going back.

The club itself inside is fine. The waiting in line is Meh as usual. The worst is the same heavier set security guard always likes to flex his power by telling us exactly where to stand (like a few inches too close to the fence or wall) or often tells people that their ID is fake, especially out-of-state licenses.

these haramzadas were unprofessional, rude, and racist. do not patronize, was led to wait in line for 45 minutes only to be forcibly removed from line for having a bad ratio. don't even think of coming here if ur group doesn't look 100% east asian too. also $1200 for a table, what a joke

If this is your first time in NYC please be very wary of what you order and what they pour for your drink this club will scam you and pour the highest liquor and charge you the highest amount possible. Please be very aware of what you order. This is the scam-iest club I've ever been to

Honestly, I was hesitant to go here because all of the negative reviews but I’m glad I gave this place a chance! My friends and I had so much fun here. The DJs were some of the best I’ve seen in NYC. Progressive house vibes. I went with a group of 4, two of us were Hispanic and the other two were black and we did not experience any racism. Drinks are about $20 but that’s the expected for Manhattan. Also bring cash for $20 cover and $4 mandatory coat check. I’ll definitely go again! Will recommend!

Bouncer’s abuse their power and told me my state issued ID was fake. He tried to confiscate my driver’s license, even when I told him to ask for management or call the cops if he didn’t believe me it was real. I asked him to scanned and refused to, kept telling me I need to leave and he confiscates ID. I asked him to scanned it and he kept yelling the truth goes a long way. I showed him a picture of my passport as well, as another proof with my ID + my vax card. Still thought it was fake and kicked me out. I agreed to leave, asked for my driver’s license back and he refused to.

The doorman with mask was so aggressive. He even do not want me to get in becuese of my personality. Dis he do not want to make the bar profit? He is so rude that I cannot stand. If you want to lose many guests just let he be doorman~ When I get in, there was not people in the place. It was Saturday night!! Where’re are people? There are no one in the in the stage( see photo) but I do not know why there was a line…..The mission is gonna be out I guess….

Packed venue with cool lighting effects and decent beats. Heard it was the “Asian club” of NYC and it was pretty much what I expected. A special guest DJ was playing the night we visited so cover was more than normal? I’m not sure how much, but girls had to pay less than guys. We went in around midnight. Bring cash to cover your whole party just in case! You make friends in line by venmoing each other if you have extra lol. Music was more EDM which isn’t my taste in dance music but the occasional throwbacks were nice. We had a fun night and stayed til close!

Just go somewhere else lmao Went to mission for the first time, bad experiences all around - $20 cover - they forced me to do coat check for something I could've put in my pocket, they were like, "you have to coat check this" smh - excessively and uncomfortably loud bass that felt choking/vibrating in your throat, was not pleasing to listen to and was louder than Gryffin in Brooklyn mirage

This place is amazing, you'll love it! Just adhere to the dress code and you'll get in no problem. I paid only $20 cover. Great music and great people. The crowd is mainly Korean and Chinese. Drinks are a bit pricey but not watered down so worth it. The events are always so creative and fun! 10/10 Recommend!!

Very disappointed. I have frequented mission multiple times. This time however, during coatcheck they gave us one less ticket. And REFUSES to let us pick up our jacket. Obviously I’m not walking home like this when it’s dumb brick outside. Very disrespectful and rude, can’t even get my jacket. The coat check person was very condescending and just told me I needed to wait til the end (which makes sense but I did NOT lose my ticket, I was simply not given one). In the end I got lucky because my ID happened to be in my pocket and they gave me back my jacket but, very disappointed. I kept showing them a picture of me in my jacket. AND it wasn’t the basic one, it was just a cheap blue jacket. Can’t believe this

I'd give a lower score if I could, but the low life bouncers that are outside the establishment are not only racist and prejudice, (while also black). But all they do is talk bad about people and try to extort you before you can even come in. I went for my best friend's birthdays then the September and the guy gave us a hard time coming in tried to make us pay $300 for a bottle and one table in an empty club l. Spend your money anywhere else. Clearly they don't want people who do not look like them (or make more money than the bouncers).

I arrived at the establishment around 1:30 or 2 AM, and the doorman informed me that they were closing and couldn't allow anyone else in. While waiting for my Uber, I noticed that the doorman let in other individuals who arrived after me, which felt unfair. It's disappointing to feel discriminated against based on race. I hope the establishment addresses these issues to ensure a welcoming environment for all patrons.

Had the time of our lives here last weekend! Bouncers were really cool, excepting the one by the coat check line who was extremely pushy about paying for coat check and was very rude to the women in line. That said, the service was great, attentive staff, great music choices.

Chill place with cool atmosphere. Lots of Asian people which was nice. I was a woman entering with a small denim jacket on and for multiple reasons didn’t want to take it off. After paying $50 for entry my husband I finally got to coat check and bypassed it until a security guard literally shoved us back into the line to pay for coat check. Upon explaining that I was not comfortable or interested in checking my coat the coat check guy insisted that I had to. This was on ladies free night with insta follow no less. I asked if I could receive a refund instead and he said yes. When I asked for a refund and explained the situation to the lady who took money and the front security guard insisted on letting me in regardless and I was finally let in with my light denim jacket. The club afterwards was fantastic but the miscommunication and weird rules that only half the staff seemed to understand was not only disrespectful but unnecessary.

This is an Asian nightclub. They are very racist if you are not Asian they will not let you in if you're white or any other than Asian. We tried to get they said it was a private party meanwhile there were 300 people on the regular line. this place used to be called circle night club they were sued for discrimination before for the same thing not letting a black person in the city make them pay a 20,000 fine. if you google circle nightclub lawsuit NYC you will see the whole article come up.

Never write reviews, but WOW this place sucked. The security was the worst, told several different things that contradicted one another. Complained to manager and they got an attitude. Music was QUIET. It’s like no one paying attention to what’s going on. There are plenty of other GOOD venues to visit over this one. Do not recommend at all.

How is this place still operating? The way they extort money & discriminate against their patrons is beyond disgusting. They denied my group of guy friends entry because they had no females entering with them & basically stated that "the only way for you to get in, is to get a bottle and table, which is going to be $600." Are you kidding me? Not only do they force you to get a table, they force EVERY FEMALE to check in their sweater, jacket, coat, etc, while every guy is still wearing their hoodie, sweatshirt, jacket. You have absolutely no say in the matter. Lastly, the bartenders have such a superiority complex about them and are just plain rude. To the male & female bartender working on 9/29, you really need to check your attitude, especially if you work in the service industry. Do yourself a favor & don't waste your time at this trashy place. Vibes, music, & workers are all garbage. Negative 5 stars.
