3.5 stars ⭐️ Love the concept here and the ambiance, but I think the food has gone a bit downhill over the past year or so - particularly at this price point. Note: They no longer do a full brunch service. You order in the front off an abridged ~5 item menu and they bring the food to your table. The salad had good flavoring but the fruit was raw. The Kimchi grilled cheese came out cold and the bread felt a bit old/stale. Coffee was excellent - I had the filter, black.

used to love this place and was a frequent attendee of events but it has fallen off hard over the past year. I decided to come back this past week for a night after receiving a free invite due to being a “loyal supporter” they charge an automatic 20% gratuity without disclosing it or having it shown on the check out screen, and then default to a 22% tip afterward. If I didn’t ask for a paper receipt to verify the ridiculous price I saw, I would have had no idea and tipped 42% on a cocktail. incredibly DECEPTIVE and FRAUDULENT and also illegal. I’ve also attended dinners there where I paid $60 with no drinks included and only received 3 bite sized portions of food, which was a joke. Their staff continues to get more aggressive and rude by the day. Their entrance & exit scheme is disorganized but staff berate and yell for trying to go through doors they point at. The ticket prices have also become absurd and they recently made it so you have to buy a more expensive ticket to access all parts of the building instead of different prices or free for certain areas. It was once great and continues to have amazing potential, especially due to the building itself. However, its clear now that they are catering to out of towners & newcomers who have heard about public records and no longer the community/regulars that have supported it since it opened. Everything about this place has gone down in quality & service from even just a year ago while also becoming a money-grab scam. I gave it a few more chances but will not be going back and will no longer be a public supporter of the place.

Fav venue in bk, amazing vegan food, fantastic cocktail program. There’s a rooftop listening room, there’s a patio area, there’s a room called the boiler room which is a club and a central open area for cocktails. They must recently opened up an outdoor concert hall space. The place has it all!

I’ve been here during the day and liked the relaxed environment for brunch or coffee with a friend. I’d like to come back in the evening for the full night-time music experience. The latte I had was perfection. Loved the coffee, and the vegan food options offered.

This place was great! I didn’t know it was a vegan spot before I arrived (that’s my fault for not checking) but my cousin wanted to go to a listening bar so we went. Unfortunately we went on a Tuesday night (another mistake) and it was basically just a restaurant, which we were a little disappointed about. However we still had a good time. The service was extremely friendly, and I really enjoyed my meal. The cheesecake was fantastic, and our drinks were so tasty. Really recommend this spot!

I came to experience this amazing sound system. We reserved a table and everything was super smooth. Clear sound, amazing atmosphere, good cocktails and delicious tacos.

I had a great experience here. The staff at this restaurant could not have been nicer and more welcoming. The outdoor garden was well heated and perfect for Covid / social-distancing. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious and well-priced. Also, it was easy to find free street parking in this neighborhood which is always a plus. It is located in an up and coming neighborhood in Brooklyn, but they have really done a nice job here. Lots of space, great ambiance and music. I would definitely be glad to go back.

Really great flavors, enjoyed every bite of this vegan meal!! Cocktails were good too, a bit sweet, but I like sweet. I can eat the cashew burrata everyday if I could 🤤

4.5 | this is such a cute spot. great drinks, the negroni bianco was chef's kiss, and everything we ate was yum. I like the dessert a lot but it is a bit rich, so if you're into more light desserts maybe not this one [hibiscus dessert]. the taxi driver was a great cocktail as well. my friend had the cheesecake and the kimchi rice, which they both enjoyed. I had the mole tostado. it was very flavorful and refreshing as well with the toppings of veggies. I would recommend! the ambiance is top tier and the service was great! would definitely come back.

Audiophile heaven and vegan heaven 😌 The vibe at this place is unmatched, chill, great music, good drinks, lip smacking vegan food, and attentive service. Definitely coming back here on a regular.

We were in the area so we popped in to this location for a vegan lunch and really loved it! The location is very well designed—spacious and cute. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and prompt. Food was very good and interesting, we had the poached pear + almond ricotta toast and the biscuits and gravy and cleaned both plates. Cocktails were tasty, we had the coffee Negroni (not a lot of coffee taste, but very good) and the shiso Brooklyn (not strong shiso but very refreshing).

I love this place! You can’t go wrong with the food whatever you order. Good for getting plates to share. Mushroom congee is the best. Also, always great music!

This place is a total gem. LOVE it and would rank it 5 stars for ambiance, vibe, crowd, cocktails. The vegan food doesn't do it for me, and would probably drop it to a 3 (but remember I'm not a vegan so not really fair to judge). The vegan friends I was with, love it!

Everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is airy and refined. The staff is very knowledgeable. Appetizers and entrees are on the smaller side so plan on at least one entree and one appetizer per person if sharing. Tables are timed during busy periods.

Amazing vegan dinner! We had six dishes on the menu and all were delicious, bursting with flavor, beautifully presented and filled with nutrients. The highlight was the wood ear mushroom congee which had tons of umami. The consistency was more like a risotto vs. congee. Mixed with lots of microgreens and baked kale, each bite was so mouthwatering delicious. Second favorite was the Asian pear, almond ricotta on seed toasts. The texture was enhanced with the sunflower seeds. Mixed with the naturally sweet poached pears and almond ricotta cheese, it was so enjoyable. The baked beets and chicory salad were both lovely too and very unique. Least special was the jackfruit tacos which were good just not as memorable and creative like the other dishes. Our server was quite slow and not attentive but the food was amazing.

amazing community space with an inviting atmosphere. loved the patio and upstairs with vinyl records. however, cocktails were extremely mediocre and would skip. - shiso brooklyn: draft cocktail. good but not memorable. - voltage: unmemorable

To all the people that depend on reviews such as myself, let me help you out! You MUST try The Cafe at Public Records! Their seasonal drinks are incredible and their staff is so welcoming. It’s hard to find quality coffee like this along with the creative flavors they offer. I will definitely be spending more of my time here and I’m looking forward to see how they grow!

One of my favourite bars to hangout on a weekend. Weekdays can be nice and quieter too. Been here in different group sizes and it never disappoints. Variety of spaces, great ceiling height and music really add to the space. Food is mostly small plates and vegan but yummy nevertheless. I liked the variety of drinks too.

Vibey place that serves a wide selection of drinks and vegan dishes. I came for brunch and the space was airy, bright, and filled with beautiful greens. The shiso cocktail was delicious, also the burrito bowl and the biscuits and gravy (sorry didn’t take pictures because we ate too fast). The records are unique and are played via high quality speakers that sound and look amazing. I would definitely want to come back for dinner / late nights next time to experience the full potential of this place.

Wow. This gem. Thank you for making vegan food so delicious and cool. Ambiance of this spot is on point, hipster vibes. The food is beyond amazing. Had the carrots, heirloom tomatoes, and taco, everything as amazing and everyone was amazed. Great bar, indoor seating, and outdoor space. Will definitely be back!

I dropped in to try the vegan croissant collaboration with L’appartment 4F and stayed to have a coffee and do some work on my laptop. The space has loads of natural sunlight, the music is great, the coffee is excellent, and the wifi is fast. I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be returning.

Great date place! Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious. The vibe of dark and moody, but you don't have to stress too fancy. The drinks were also delicious.

Gorgeous plant based restaurant. We sat outside in the garden for brunch and enjoyed the Breakfast Bowl and Motepillo, both which I’d describe as an elevated tofu scramble. We tried the brownie for desert and it was overwhelmingly chocolate-y.. . but those with a sweet tooth will enjoy. Looking forward to checking out their evening event programming!

Great outdoor patio and a nice indoor dining area. Cocktail selection is pretty solid, ranging from neat spirits to frozen cocktails. I'd recommend getting a reservation for a Friday/Saturday night visit or you might be out of luck. Also, a heads up if you're hungry, they stop serving food at some point in the night.

public records is an incredible venue with contemporary, european club-inspired vibes. the music and quality of sound come first here — it is not a “bar” in the traditional sense, and I appreciate that. the sound system is incredible, the lights are just right, and it’s a wonderful place to dance into the late hours of the night. as a long-time techno lover, it’s best venue i’ve been to so far in new york city.

Great venue consisting of several separate spaces. I was able to check out the lounge area upstairs and the sound room. Both were amazing. The quality of the sound is fantastic!

Positive: Staff was friendly and attentive. Location is beautiful. Music tasteful and not too loud, do we could have a conversation. Negative: got a tiny table in the hallway. Food looked very attractive, but some of our dishes were cold. All dishes were missing something. For example, the Chile potatoes did not really pair well with the sauce they came with. The rigatoni dish tasted rather flat. Portions were rather small. Paid 200 for 2 people and were still hungry.

Good vibes and good drinks. Go to a show in the back at night or grab some food during the day. Any time is a great time for public records.

Shelter Party stated 10-8. The venue shut down at 5:19am. Needless to say true house heads don't get started until 3am. Many were displease with the false advertisements. The staff was very uncomfortable fielding the displeasure of the patrons. One person said there were fake flyers out and about. But employees knew the venue would close early, cause we overheard discussions among themselves. DO BETTER.

Really liked this space. Bigger than a bar, smaller than a club. Great place to hang with friends and dance to some good electronic music. Definitely not worth the $30 ticket price in my opinion, get there before midnight when it’s free! It’s busy at midnight, you won’t be too early.

Amazing vibe, both indoors and in the backyard this place has style and it still manages to stay cozy. The food is inventive, made with quality ingredients, and expertly prepared. It felt lighter that equivalent non-vegan food, but that means I got to try more :) great for small groups sharing.

Cool spot. Went on a friday night at 11. We sat at a table in the restaurant and got some drinks. There were people by the bar, but the tables were emptying out. The music was fun. I will say the music was super loud and you couldn’t have a conversation with someone sitting next to you. The drinks were delicious and good price. I could see myself coming back to the restaurant for drinks. As for the sound room, we went after finishing drinks upstairs. The cost to enter was $30. The music was cool but it wasnt really the type of music that I could vibe to for more than 30 minutes. It wasn’t worth paying that much just to get in IMO.

Public Records, you are a haven for true music lovers and music explorers. I love what you stand for, the community you nurture, and how thoughtfully and cleverly you integrate artists with the space. The menu was short and sweet but delivered strongly from the new head chef (congrats Tanea Cash!). The drinks menu impressed as well. Not only all this, but the indoor and outdoor spaces are well maintained and the service, wonderful! And to top it all off, Public Records IS the vibe because every single patron I encountered was polite and courteous. This is such a respectful yet fun and artistic environment! The price of some of the cocktails are a bit steep but the complete experience matched by the energy of the Public Records goers was well worth it. I assume this is all thanks to incredible management, so thank you 🙏

Was there for a concert and didn’t know what to expect. While we waited for the show to start we went in to see about this bar and restaurant We were pleasantly surprised. Sure, a little on the hipster side, but not in a bad way. They had some signature drinks that’s were really good. Prices were average If I’m in that part of BK again, I’ll stop in.

Tremendo lugar . Un poco pricey pero merecido . Full vegan morfa , full hifi audio . Outside sitting furniture could improve but overall a very special and amazing place

An absolute gem. Went during the day for brunch and loved the natural lighting. Ordered the floral blossom coffee—to die for, a must try—and the matcha chia pudding, a delicacy. This spot turns into a dancing bar at night, so be sure to check it out at all hours of the day!
