Ohh what a night, food & service was great until a rude customer came stomping into the restaurant & abuse the staff, such a drama king, has no respect for others in the restaurant. People like that should just cook their own food & not ruin other people night out. I feel sorry for the poor staff that copped it.

Went there for the first time on Saturday night. Besides an extremely rude customer, as mentioned by someone else who had an issue with his delivery , that the staff had given plenty of options to the customer to rectify and saw fit to abuse the staff in person, its an amazing experience. Great friendly service and took me back to the same type of atmosphere, as when I was a kid and we went and had Chinese food. This restaurant is a classic, old style Australian Chinese restaurant and well worth your patronage.

We go to this restaurant regularly and it's usually always busy of a Saturday night. Very nice food and friendly staff. A reasonably small restaurant but cosy adding to its charm. Highly recommended. I overheard a group of 4 middle aged patrons commenting on the price and couldn't believe they got change out of $80 for the four of them. Recommend making a reservation for Saturday night. It's also BYO.

Best Chinese food I've had in Sydney by far. Such a great menu, big portions and is never greasy. Chinese can feel like a cheat meal but not Diamond - it's quality food without the grease. Absolutely love it there for takeaway and dine in. So yum!

Very happy with the food, warming and great flavors. We had the veg soup, honey king prawns, schezwan beef & fried rice. All dishes were delicious 😋

Have used this place for over 20 years. Not anymore though. Plastic clothing tab was in the spring roll. The attitude of store was shocking. Basically tough luck. Was told to toss all dishes and then there was no recourse. In response to your comment below I was not offered a refund at all. In fact I was told it’s not your problem because I ordered with DoorDash and to take it up with them. They refused even though I told them you said refund was ok.

Diamond is not fancy, but the food is superb, the service wonderful, and dining there is competitive in terms of price. I'm always happy going back there, and ordering home delivery. Highly recommend!

My favourite Chinese restaurant in the Shire. Have been eating from here for 20 years and have never had a disappointing meal. Lunch takeaway is very well priced. Staff treat all customers the same, with respect. Cannot recommend Diamond Chinese enough for a succulent Chinese meal.

I read the negative reviews but decided to try it anyway for the first time. Service was excellent, food was sensational, fair prices, and also received a complimentary dessert for our table of 6!! The negative reviews must be from previous owners. Highly recommend. Will be my new spot.

The food is OK but the service is fantastic. They are really nice. It's a good local suburban old school Chinese restaurant. I had prawns and vegetables and a dish called Billy Kee chicken which apparently has history in Sydney Chinese food. It was nice tasty and deep fried. I reccomend getting old school dishes like sweet and sour pork etc. The atmosphere is old school. Try it out.

Pretty good food! We had salt and pepper mushrooms which were only five in total... they were nice but I did expect more. Also the chicken pad Thai was amazing!!! Will probably get that again.

Ordered hot & sour soup.what I got was a pot of ??? As soon as I took the lid off, the smell was of rotting meat. It was thick with egg, disgusting. Nothing like what this soup should be. So disgusting I reported to the health department

Food is good tasting and the takeaway sizes are very generous, for a reasonable price There was heaps of meat in all our meals. They threw in a bag of prawn crackers and even a free cold beer with our takeaway order.

The food was great but the service even better!! They gave un a delicious dessert on the house. I highly recommend!

food is usually good from here but the last dish we had, Mongolian beef tasted like they had spilt the salt bottle in it that the only issue we have had otherwise has been fine

Used to be super cheap, go there frequently, nice staff,like most restaurants these days,the cost of Beer is the Killer,makes a big difference, BYO Wine

Great old fashioned food and service. This place has been there for many years and they deserve to be there. We even got complimentary dessert.

The service is impeccable. Steve is very proud of his restaurant and shows it in every way. Food is amazing and price is great. General Steve's Chicken, home made lamb pancakes and steamed dumplings are a must !!

I think we discard Carla’s dim sim comments , given that it is a one off and no fault of the owner. If you find a piece of plastic in a packet of chips , it’s not Coles’ responsibility , for example. Having eaten , over 10 years , about 100 of them , they are as good as you can get. The Diamond doesn’t manufacture this one product , so they can’t be responsible for such a thing. I’m sure they would have compromised regarding the refund or credit on them. But they can’t buy in to the bigger issue that they have no control over. Try them again - it was a one off for sure. It’s a great local joint
