The Historic Cleveland Coast Guard station is well worth the walk to get here! Great views of downtown Cleveland and the mouth of the Cuyahoga River. There is no water or electricity... so plan ahead. The building was fenced off and in disrepair for many years. Thankfully it has been restored and is used for a sailing club. There are no picnic tables or places to sit. But you probably will not spend a lot of time. We have never been to Whiskey Island. Will come back soon when the bike path bridge is finished.

Great area to experience some history. Also some fantastic shots of Cleveland. You may also get a chance to see a few freighters. Actually got to go to the top of the lighthouse for very quick pictures. The view was amazing

The Historic Coast Guard Station in Cleveland, Ohio is a restored museum showcasing the history of the Coast Guard and its role in the Great Lakes. The building's unique Art Moderne architecture, with nautical-inspired elements, has earned it a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The station's location offers picturesque views of Lake Erie and Cleveland's skyline, making it a popular event space for weddings and other occasions. Overall, it's a must-visit attraction for history and architecture enthusiasts.

This is fun to walk by. When I was little I always feard my family would fall into the waters of lake Erie. But now I'm older, know how to swim and know lake Erie is not as deep as I thought. Lol 😂

An amazing piece of nautical history, this place was amazing to see. In the process of being remodeled and used for a variety of things, it is still easy to imagine what this must have been like when the Coast Guard operated out of this location. To climb the lookout tower and view the lake along side of the Cuyahoga river as large freighters move up and down the channel was truly an experience.

This is a great place to go in Cleveland. This is a historic coast guard station that has been converted into a sailing club. It has very nice sailboats, but the building unfortunately doesn't have any water or electricity. This means that you have to use a porta potty if you go to the bathroom. It's also really cold inside during winter due to the lack of heating inside the building. However, you have a very nice view of the skyline of Downtown Cleveland from here. You can very clearly see the Terminal Tower and Key Tower, which is quite nice.

My husband and I took a bike ride to the old coast guard station. We loved the views we saw of Cleveland. There were a lot of people fishing which was super cool. The actual station is is great condition and fun to explore!
