Just my opinion Dee Why is the best beach in Australia why? because there is so much to see and hear with the lagoon running behind the dunes its home to some of the worlds most beautiful birds one being the iconic Black Swan. Dee Why beach has a one way road running parallel to the beach front with a variety of delicious cafes and restaurants. Also at the south end there are beach pools with ๐Ÿšป restrooms all wheelchair accessible. We have brave lifeguards keeping a watchful eye on swimmers. There's something for everyone at Dee Why beach .also please pick up your trash and place it in the bins ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Enjoy.

Lots of seaweed please clean up the place, brother wanted shells instead he got nothing than broken tiny shells. Lots of Styrofoam and plastic he thought they were shells. But the water is very fresh and cooling and lots of shade. The changing rooms are small without that much privacy and showers. But it still was fun for my family.

My number one beach in Sydney, the most scenic beach with 2 built in pools round to the right of the beach. Lots of nice cafe/restaurants along the beach front. Only draw back if any would be parking, another public toilet closer than the pools.

I liked the way that it has a much quieter than Bondi beach . It has a much more laid back vibe . Parking too expensive 10/hr . You either park off street which is difficult or park in shopping centre which about 15mins walk. It is great for family where take your kids to near play ground and a pool which is separate from the beach water but attached near the shore

Very pretty beach. Much bigger than I thought it would be. Plenty of parking. The council needs to clean up the sand occasionally though. A fair amount of soft plastics littering the shoreline, especially in the vicinity of the big storm water drain.

Tranquil beach. Salt water pool, children park, bar b q facilities and plenty of restaurants. Parking perhaps will remain an issue including cleanliness of toilets. Overall a pleasant place to visit and spend time.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Sydney area. The beach is just a few meters away from the restaurants, cafes, shops etc. a very good rock pool including children pool. suitable for many activities. Group gatherings and social events. a bit windy in many times of the year. which probably adds to its charm. and you can have beautiful scenery from top of the cliffs.

The experience was surreal. Pristine clear water with not much crowd during early morning hours. There was adequate space for everyone to enjoy. Rockpool was well maintained. With many options to please your taste buds, it is a perfect destination to have a day out with family.

(Translated by Google) This is my morning walking course. It is the best beach in Northern Beach, it is very beautiful. There are few tourists on the local beach. Around the main beach, cafes and restaurants are concentrated. Until 20 years ago, it was only white people, but recently, Asian and ethnic people including Japanese have increased considerably. It is famous for big competitions such as surfing and lifeguards. The photo shows a temporary river connecting the adjacent lagoon and the sea. When heavy rain falls, the water level of the lagoon rises and overflows into a river. Seen several times a year. The depth is about the knee so you can walk across. A very vibrant beach, there is a lot going on. Boat racing, swimming, family picnics, date nights. It is busy from breakfast to dinner with all of the shops and restaurants along the strip. The beach itself disappears when the tide comes in but quite a sight when the sea hits the wall.

Incredible beach. Great for kids as there is a lagoon with no waves so you can chill there the whole day. Watch out for parking on busy days and the straight line markings on the road which indicate no parking.

I'm glad Bondi, Coogee and Manly take all heat away from DeevWhy which offers Beach, Lagoon, Surf, Rock Pool, BBQ facilities in shade, Walks North & South, Spectacular Views with elevation, Nature Reserve, Shops & Cafes esplanade style, and FREE PARKING!! woohoo

Amazing beach, visited this place just after the rock pool nearby. Great facilities and restaurants that are at the forefront of the beach, also, good on the life guards for constant reminders to stay within the flags so they can supervise swimmers and ensure safety.

Nice place to go with kids. The area provides a nice vibe in the late afternoon of a summer. But it is little difficult to get a parking due to popularity. There are many restaurants nearby. The rock pool is great for a swim. The beach is very popular.

  • 5/5 Dylene C. 1 year ago on Google
What a surreal feeling being in this place. Perfect for kids and pets alike. There are life guards on duty until roughly 5pm, and there are marked areas where it is safe to go swimming. If you want to feel extra secure, you can opt to use the rockpool for swimming too. Lots of seagulls in the area, and the pine trees are beautiful! The people are friendly and thereโ€™s lots of cafes near the beach.

As a tourist, I enjoyed being there with clear blue water and rockpool. If you are a tourist , take B1 bus from carrington Station stand b from city and get off at dee why b1 pittwater road. From there 20 minutes walk. Or you can hop on to ferry and take a rude to manly , enjoy at Manly and take 166 to dee why. Enjoy your trip.

Sensational beach, with kids pool and toddler play area. It was a quiet beach once upon a time and for locals. But now a days tourists started visiting, making it very busy especially over weekends. Difficult to find the free parking spot.
