Great learn to surf beach with calm conditions and long running waves :)

This is a clean, family-friendly, patrolled beach with toilet/cold shower facilities freely available at the surf club.

(3.5 stars) It was a hot, sunny Saturday October Long Weekend afternoon but the water was still, er, brisk on the Central Coast. Undaunted, we hurled ourselves in anyway for our first Australian swim of this season. Ocean Beach is a long, gently curving sweep of coastline largely sheltered by a series of shifting sandbars between Ettalong and Umina beaches, with plenty of free parking but not much in the way of facilities. The sandbars make it a bit of a long walk to deeper water at the eastern end of the beach. The familiar red and yellow rescue chopper was buzzing low and regularly, clearly looking for someone who’d got themselves in a bit of trouble. Hopefully that all ends well. We’ll return when the water temperatures increase a bit!

A great beach at the head of the Hawksberry River. The beach sits Just inside the barrenjoey Headland on the northern side of the Hawksberry. The beach itself is very protected from large surf. Great place to take the family , with plenty of room all year around.

Nice long beach with bushy district views. Great for running and safe for swimming.

Great family beach!! Protected by the headland from big waves making it perfect for beginner surfers and young children. The very south end called "kiddies corner" by the locals is even better for young ones to splash in the water. Parts of the beach are dog friendly too.

Kids had a blast running into, and out, of the surf. Shower available to 'de-sand' near the lifeguards. Long beach with plenty of car parking.
