As with every David Jones store it's pretty much Flawless the staff there are great and very friendly which makes you feel comfortable to talk with them. The range of products is excellent . They go out of the way to assist you in a relaxed way with what you need and if they can't they do the best to Direct you to an alternative.

DJ needs to improve their customer service, it almost feels like they tire the customers to the point we give up. All I wanted to know is if they have a certain per of shoes on stock so that I can purchase them but it took forever and when I finally got through to them they hanged up. Also names should be mentioned when on the phone so we are not left blaming all employees and just the lazy one.

Was approached by an extremely rude manager while swatching lipsticks. I was immediately accused of not being allowed to try the products. Only worth a visit to ogle at 1990’s time capsule, take your business and money to Myer’s far superior and modern service.

Had a really worst experience with one staff member (An Old man in kitchen section on a weekend). Took 2 casseroles to the counter (price tag showing $67 & $83), The employee scanned the items and said, the prices have now gone up for these items, so it will be $76 & $99 I said, But the displayed price is different on the floor? They have to honour the price they have displayed it for... He said, that's not possible as the system does not allow them, I said, its misleading He said rudely "You can choose not to Buy..." in front of other customers near the counter. I said, that's cheating.... Another employee (a lady) came over and honoured the displayed price and was able to run the transaction on the system for the displayed price. At the end, I got the items for the honoured price, but the overall experience was soo unpleasant, It ruined my happiness of buying those casseroles... Major down points - Employee's inefficiency in using their system, in running such transactions. Employee behaviour - Rude and telling off customer David Jones - If telling customers "You can choose not to Buy..." is a tag line for your success, then you are soon to close down...

I went to Castle hill store today I wanted to buy a pair of shoes there was 1 staff in the women shoes section. I spotted a woman at their register (staff from wittner) waited for 15 mins in the queue. I asked her if she can find my size. She told me off and told me to wait until David jones staff gets free. I said ok I will wait here(near the register) can you please let her know that I need assistance.Staff replied back to me- No no I am not gonna do anything you go and ask her. I have my own customer. I don’t work here. Are you kidding me? Aren’t you all working for David jones in the end? Very rude!! David jones is a premium store but the service has gone down. They are hiring people with zero customer service experience.

Overall a bunch of good people working here, unfortunately trapped in an organization who's leadership thought it would be a good idea to cut cost at the customer face. Customer service is non-existent. A recently bought coffee machine ($1700) failed out of box and the hassle to get it replaced/repaired has been short of astounding. I will NEVER willingly spend money at DJ stores again given the experience of returning and refunding/repairing a major purchase item that failed on day 1. To the David Jones Executive Management: PLEASE invest in your customer experience, train your managers better on how to be more action oriented and consumer-centric. I have been patient and polite to your staff all the way through because I can see they're trying, but my patience is running out now. Your store manager has not ONCE honored her promises to call me back and without driving to the store, you have no luck in getting hold of anybody on the phone either.

One place where you can get lot of brand to shop. Customer service was good. This time there was discount on polo Ralph Lauren. I shop clothes from this store, quality was superb and product was value for money. I highly recommend this place.

After leaving Myer Castle Hill disappointed by their lack of customer service I went to David Jones to buy a complete outfit for an upcoming wedding. I was greeted by Desiree from the mens department upon entering that area. I found her knowledgeable of her department and she was quick to show me a suite I was after. That went smoothly and I was able to find what I needed. She was able to find me a shirt that matched and offered her expertise in style and coloring. She was able to provide further expertise in finding matching shoes and a belt. Overall the experience was fantastic. I left there with everything I needed and at a reasonable price. Well done Desiree, I will shop here from now on.

Customer service is none existence at ladies fashion at Castle Hill. Some brands don't even have a customer rep and the place is a mess, the ones that do just stand around and talk instead of serving and helping customers. The place is a mess and doesn't look prestigious. Customer service rep at Saba was just keen to rap up and leave instead of helping and kept on ignoring me when I asked for help 3 times and finally said look I am finished for the day. The place looks like you are shipping at a cheap store. Whatever happened to David Jones!!!!!!! Never going in there again.

Amazing customer service from Bianca in the shoe section! She was so helpful in choosing styles for me. Would totally recommend her. She was a great help and made my shopping experience for shoes (something that I do not enjoy…) a positive one! Thank you so much Bianca you were awesome.

Hi I would like to make a complaint about the David Jones store at Castle Towers. I walked in at 8:45pm on a Thursday evening and I wanted to try on a dress and the lady rudely told me that it’s too close to closing time and that I’m not allowed to try anything on…. Wow so rude I’ve worked in retail before and you are to serve the customer even if its 8:59pm - for a high end department store it’s not a good look. I got quite turned off so I decided not to buy the bec and bridge dress and I was walking out around 8:57pm to the front doors and I was right at the front where Wittner shoes are and I was looking really quickly before going out and the lady at the counter clearly wasn’t paying attention that I was an existing customer she thought I just stumbled in and said rudely we are closing it’s too late , I said don’t worry I was already here and I’m leaving … I’ve never seen such rude people in my life. Such a bad look for your name. These people should be fired, what a bad experience.

I always love going into David Jones, Castle Towers. It has a somewhat well displayed atmosphere and easy to find stuff unlike Myers in the towers. Easy to find staff to help. I was looking for Mimco handbag and they had them on all three colors.

I enjoy going to this store, and am firmly is the view that although it is not very big place by department store standards, it is well curated and wore often we find what they sell offers a good choice for whatever is needed. Things have gotten a little worse over the past few months, sometimes it is difficult to find a till that's open so you end up queuing. But retail is tough so I understand. Am glad to say that service still remains great

Very few staff these days. I think it's been that way for some time. Found a discount sign misleading. Not all the goods below the sign were discounted. Only found out at the till.

Todays shopping experiences are very different to what they use to be. Customrnservice isn't as important, this is not say staff are rude, the priorities are now different. Signs at the main doors as to what is on each level would be good, the same as the ones they have at the escalators, unless I just completely missed it.

We went to this store to return a few presents that we had received, upon returning the item Rosie refused to scan the tag because we had forgotten to bring the receipt, during this time Rosie was very difficult to speak with and gave us attitude. After no success with Rosie, we asked to speak to the manager. While waiting for the manager Rosie finally agreed to scan the tag which showed her that it was purchased from them. After waiting for 10 minutes or so for the manager Huma, she was again very difficult to deal with. She took the bar code of one of the item and asked us to wait, which was another 15 minutes, finally agreeing to the return of one of the item. When asked about the other items, she simply said she’s too busy to deal with us ( which she was not bothered to say it to our face, instead did it over the phone). The whole experience was extremely stressful and frustrating. The situation could have been dealt with completely differently.

Honestly I highly recommend adopting the self checkout systems they have in supermarkets. Its near impossible to find someone to serve you and 8/10 times if you do find someone at the PAY HERE booth they tell you they can’t serve you then when you finally find a staff member who is allowed to use the register- you’d think you’ve asked for their first born while pulling their teeth out! I don’t think I’ve ever had a good experience shopping at David Jones instore… i highly recommend sticking to online shopping…. Until perhaps they consider self checkout services so you can pay and get out of the store with your smile and soul intact!

A lady named Lisa help me exchange an item from my gift registry and she was absolutely amazing. She went out of her way to ensure that I didn't need to come back on another day. She made my life much easier even when it inconvenienced her. I really appreciate her help and I'm so impressed with her customer service. Thanks again Lisa!

For a number of years I have been purchasing suits from David Jones due to their reputation for producing quality goods. I have worn these suits everyday for work and they have lasted a long time. However, I recently decided that it was time to purchase a new suit for the year so in January, I went to David Jones in Castle Hill. When I entered the store, I quickly found a suit that I wanted to buy, which included an extra pair of pants and I requested that the additional pants be in a larger size than the ones that came with the jacket, in case I needed them in the future. The staff member informed me that the larger pants were not available and would have to be delivered from Melbourne, which would take a day. The next day, I was already 45 minutes into the drive to the store when I received a call saying that the pants were not yet delivered and that they would be in the store in about 1 week. This added onto an already annoying and arduous wait, however, after waiting more than a week, I had not received a call, so I contacted the store myself. They asked me to wait longer, but after six weeks of waiting with no contact from the store, I gave up on the purchase. I am disappointed that I was unable to receive the same level of customer service I had experienced in the past from David Jones, ultimately preventing me from purchasing the suit I desired.

David Jones Castle Hill - Small Appliances. At the time of my last 2 purchases I was served by Leon from the Small Appliances Section. On the first occasion 2 other staff membes were chatting and ignored me and Leon came to my rescue. Yesterday when I purchased a Dyson Hair Dryer I had the pleasure once again of being served by Leon. Knows his products and goes out of his way to provide excellent service. Great employee. 5 stars for Leon.

Vi & Vanessa - I cannot fault your professionalism welcoming approach and product knowledge. Thank you. You provided a superb service going above and beyond. I certainly didn't expect it, though I totally appreciate it and cannot express enough gratitude. I will be back to purchase other items. You both work seamlessly together, this is rare and important to the customer's eye. Thank you again. Happy to be contacted

Lovely lady in the Homeware section served me, she was wonderful.. I purchased two mugs which were stationed at the front entrance and I had lined up to process payment at the closest till available, apparently that is against David Jones law !! The first lady at the till was so incredibly rude and told me I had to buy at the homeware section and that I cant pay at the clothing section and hastily pointed to where I was ‘supposed’ to go, I asked her where that section was and was ignored.. I am not a quiet person either - other customers had even looked over at this interaction. After finding the section on my own and having a chat the lovely lady in homeware kindly told me that I in fact did not have to go to her to process payment.. whatever, that other lady has issues and if not for her would give 5 stars for the kind lady

Very good, just like all the other David Jones store apart from the Sydney city store of course. Good selection in men's, ladies clothing, skin care, make-up, almost my one stop shop when it comes to gift ideas.

Norma working the counter by the swimwear at 12.38pm 17/02/22 was unbelievely rude. Knew little to nothing about store policies but would talk over more knowledgeable customers. Very hostile to any advice. Would absolutely avoid at all costs.

They have some staff there that do their best to help but they have some woeful processes. They will no longer bring in stock from other stores that they don’t have. (Failure 1) This is a fundamental failing for a major retailer. They did facilitate a purchase over the phone though from another store. They will charge you postage which is not payable if we’d bought online (Failure 2) That would have been great if the other store didn’t send two shoes of different sizes (Failure 3). Can we send back to the initiating store and have a credit processed to our account over the phone? No, you have to endure the inconvenience of traipsing back to the store (Failure 4). And finally they refused to refund the postage cost even though the initiating store sent two shoes of different sizes (Failure 5). Management needs to take a good hard look at their processes. David Jones used to have such a good reputation for customer service. Not anymore.
