This post office is so bad it should be illegal. They lie about delivery or are just too lazy to place it in the apartment mail room. The entire operation down to the mail carriers is incompetent. The only reason they are in operation is because it’s a government agency. Inside the store is chaos, and the employees are so cut/dry miserable it’s like squidward behavior. Do yourself a favor and use a third party service and avoid Brooklyn usps as much as possible.

So my mails and packages from outside the US have been traveling for a week. They were on the flight, cleared customs, and processed through the international distribution center. no issues. But THIS local USPS office always messes it up. I really don't know why. What I only know is that they are gifted to it. If you can't deliver or don't want to deliver, then why not leave it to someone capable and responsible? I almost feel that this is a group of people who hates humans and are against social structures.

The USPS store was very organized. There are a lot of self-service options. It is much busier than the other USPS in the area. Will recommend going at none peak hours. If it is a shipment have everything ready because this place is pretty fast paced and you may experience delays if not we’ll prepared.

Multiple packages of mine as well as letters and cards sent to me have been delivered to wrong locations or lost completely. When you try to call you get a busy signal 3 times and then it hangs up. This place is absolutely awful. I now have my packages delivered to my friends places for fear they will end up lost. Additionally, the amount mail that either belongs to a neighbor in the building or a different building all together is astounding. The people in my building leave it on a ledge in the lobby with notes saying that it's the wrong address and it never gets picked up or corrected and eventually ends up thrown away. This post office is awful.

The USPS needs to get their act together. Honestly, it’s such a nightmare dealing with them. The lines here are always at least an hour long. Go early and plan to be waiting a long time in a hot stuffy room. Want to schedule a package pickup instead? Too bad. USPS will schedule it and mark it completed without ever actually coming to your door or attempting to pickup. Need something delivered? Too bad. USPS will claim to have attempted delivery - but they won’t actually deliver a slip so you’ll never know which facility it’s being held at. Good luck!

The USPS in this Zip code makes my life a lot worse. A lot of important letters can't be delivered due to "No secure location available" -- "Notice left". There's never a notice left and there is a secure location available because they routinely use the pin pad to leave letters in the inside mailbox. This happens with letters and packages. I only find out when senders send me the delivery exceptions. I then have to go make an hour long trip through long lines to the office. They're probably just understaffed (I see postal workers out late some days) but the way they express it here in particular makes life really miserable for me, costs me a lot of time and money. Further I'm constantly left wondering what important mail has been missed, and whether a letter has been sent, lost, or just not delivered by this USPS office.

USPS said my package couldn't be delivered because of "insufficient address". The address is correct. No slip telling me my package failed to be delivered was left. I wasn't home so I guess the carrier couldn't figure out to buzz the 14 other apartments in my building to open the door. They also didn't keep the package at the post office for me to pick up. They sent it back to the sender. How hard is it to use common sense?

My tracking info said a pink slip was left in the mailbox because I missed the delivery. Oddly the notice appeared in my mailbox 4 days later. 20 minute walk to the post office only to find a hand written sign at the pick up window that pick ups are only allowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Ok.....make up your own rules, I don’t care. But can that information be made known some other way than an effing sign when you get there?

Be ready to wait on line for 1 or 2 hours every time you need to visit the office even to post a basic mail. It’s one of those location that USPS don’t care at all and where management executives last visit was decades ago. Avoid it at all cost. NB: I can’t give a rating of zero star but that’s what this office deserve.

"In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king." Is this branch perfect? No. But I go out of my way to ship packages here because it's the best place around for multiple reasons. For starters, they have multiple mail drop slots that you can access without waiting in line including one for small packages that have pre-purchased shipping. Amazing. This branch can be busy, but they have a great system that needs to be adopted everywhere (not just post offices) - a single line that feeds into multiple windows. It's simple and fair. Even when the line is long, I find that this is the most efficient USPS branch I've been to as evidenced by the line moving quickly. Lastly, the staff seems genuinely interested in helping people. If someone has arrived at the window and hasn't done something right and they can fix it quickly - they will help them! I have consistently seen the staff and management here demonstrate patience and care with their customers. Is it the best post office in the world? Probably not. But I think it's the best you're going to find in this part of Brooklyn and that's good enough for me.

My first mistake: I brought a package to be mailed from this branch, which is unfortunately my local branch. My second mistake: asking to use the clerk's pen to label the box after she told me I couldn't verbally provide the address for the label she'd eventually put on it. "I don't have a pen," the clerk said through the window...while holding a pen. "Ask someone else." My third mistake: politely asking someone else, which caused the other clerk to yell at me for harassing customers. The original clerk continued to ignore me. Ultimately, I was able to mail my package, but not until I was made to feel wrong for doing it. How dare I have the nerve to use the post office for its primary function?! Needless to say, I now always carry a pen.

Recent rare visit for a money order/stamps. Customer service is no longer a standard. No greetings, no eye contact, no nothing. This minimal standard results in unsatisfactory customer experience. This is why I don’t utilize USPS services - opting for online transactions works best for conducting my business. Zero rating!

The staff is extremely rude and arrogant. DO NOT SCHEDULE A PASSPORT APPOINTMENT HERE. I had to wait a month and a half for an appointment and they cancelled it TWO HOURS before I was supposed to come in. Then told me I would have to reschedule online, with the earliest appointment being ANOTHER month and a half out... Their reasoning was that one of the passport workers had to leave early and the other one didn't show up for work that day... The woman on the phone relaying this was extremely rude and hung up on me while I was speaking. wretched establishment

This office is a nightmare. Extremely rude staff. I came here to renew my child's passport to be told to reschedule it for the next time just because I didn't fill out the form with a black ink. They didn't even give me an option to fill out another form on the spot. My appointment was 30mins late even though I showed up 15 mins prior to my appointment and nobody else was in front of me. Trust these reviews and avoid this location at all costs. Thanks to them my next available appointment would be in a month from now at another location, since the wait time is very long everywhere.

The employees at this post office respond to you as if you’re an imbecile. I try to avoid going there at all costs as to not have my day ruined by the staff that act as if you’re committing a crime by asking them to do their job. From what I’ve seen most of the people who come in are calm, patient, and respectful (though there must be some very difficult people at times) nonetheless your patience is rewarded with disagreeable and patronizing answers. Be careful not to make ANY mistakes, even honest ones, because you will be demeaned and demoralized if you do!

hate to have to deal with them. They left a slip for a package they tried to deliver. I scheduled a redelivery, which never came. So today I went to the post office, only to learn that "we're not doing redeliveries because there were too many packages." Oh, and they sent it back to the sender before the USPS's 15-day grace period was up. Needless to say, I filed a complaint.

THE WORST post office in America!!! The staff here rude and never helpful. On the handful of occasions I’ve been here, it was the worst experience one could have at a post office. While I acknowledge there might be a small percentage of people who are bare minimum helpful, most are rude and can’t take accountability for anything. I waited multiple visits to write a negative review because I kept thinking this has to be a one-off chance that I’m having this poor of an experience. I always leave here feeling insulted and more confused than when I entered. Terrible terrible place.

Early last year, early morning, an elderly, disabled gentleman with a cane was pushed and knocked to the floor by a younger thug. To make things worse, the post office workers continued to process his packages, as he fled through the door. No calls were made to the police or ambulance, just in case the person needed medical attention. I filled a complaint against this post office, to no avail. The workers should be fired for their actions!

This place is disgusting!! ALWAYS LONG lines and only 2 clerks, if you’re lucky there just might be 3. This is just pure nonsense!! Never any slips out for certified mail w/return receipt. Since I moved to the neighborhood I really do my best NOT to come here for anything. They really need to do better. Apparently there are employees in the back being loud hanging out. You can actually hear them by the mailboxes. Even if you are on lunch, you never know WHO is on the other side listening. The only good thing about this place is that the couple of clerks they do have are very professional & polite!

I can bet anything This is the worst USPS in the United States! They scan your packages before they deliver them, xmas time they steal most packages and Sending a package takes over 35mins in a line of only 3-5 people because they only have 1-2 employees in front window. All Employees have an attitude like you owe them money and talk like they are doing you a favor and not their job. Most of the time using their cellphones .

Went in to activate a PO Box since the Shirley Chisholm office keeps losing my mail for weeks at a time. It was around noon on a weekday, so I expected a line. What I did not expect was ONE employee working the entire location. My heart went out to her-- at least until she abandoned her post, hung a handmade "CLOSED" sign on the door, then locked up the building. That's right. She closed and locked up the building while people were still actively using the location and waiting in line, hours before closing time. She announced that she'd be unlocking the door "every five customers" to let us out, which does not exactly seem up to fire code. Meanwhile, confused would-be patrons with letters and parcels in their arms began pounding on the doors and windows like something out of a zombie movie. Needless to say, I abandoned the line and escaped as soon as I could. I don't write a lot of reviews, and I don't like kicking anyone while they're down. I know the pandemic has been rough for the USPS, but there's no excuse for this. The entire Bedstuy/Ocean HIll area has been completely neglected for YEARS now. An occasional mistake is understandable and unavoidable. But I've personally had innumerable mail pieces go missing, and so have many of my neighbors. Any and all issues have been met with utter ambivalence and even aggression from the staff USPS somehow manages to keep. I'd say "take your business elsewhere," but the Shirley Chisholm office on Fulton is just as bad, if not worse. Official complaints and cases filed online or over the phone are ignored or closed without any explanation. It's just hard to believe a basic service like THE MAIL could be so outrageously inefficient in the heart of a major city. Anyway, if you ever have to go here, reward yourself with some Taco Bell up the street when you're done.

Oh my God I have never experienced such infuriating incompetence in my life. I filled out my forms with a post office clerk and paid a huge amount of money only to have my package returned. Noone can answer any questions and they thought after all of that that I should pay them again. No thanks. Taking my package to one of the commercial shipping companies and the next time this sorry excuse of a business asks for my tax dollars I'm going to say no.

This service out of this post office is terrible. The mail person didn't deliver the mail to our address for 2 days, even though our informed delivery showed mail for both days!! This is NOT our first incident of undelivered mail. Do better, or let someone that would appreciate the job, do it.

This branch is supposed to open at 9am. Today they didn’t open their doors until 9:20 so a long line had formed outside. Then there was only 1 person working when we did get inside. Why are the government run businesses always the worst. You aren’t some small business who can do as they please, if you are supposed to open at 9, you should open at 9. USPS needs to get it together

Avoid this place at all cost. The lack of care goes beyond any experience I’ve ever had and I have had many many experiences at this place. If for some reason your package is held at this location you will likely never see it. One package I had held here took 5 visits to successfully retrieve the first four times I was told it wasn’t there each time the clerk looks for 20 minutes and says file a claim because it’s missing. On the fifth visit low and behold someone took time to find it. It’s dirty, the staff are beyond rude, and is the most unorganized post office in the country.

This place has proven time and time again that it's the worst post office in the United States of America. If you need to ship a package, you'd be better served driving it to where ever it needs to go. I'd give negative stars if I could.

It’s sad how the people from this Post Office are rude and mean. I wasted my time there and had none help at all, had to hear from the attendant when I need to find out where’s my package

Every time I've interacted in person with somebody at this post office, it's been fine, if not outright good—always polite, no complaints. Even when receiving messages from the post office about missing packages, it's always been thoughtful. But the actual postal service provided by this station is BAD. I've had postal employees not show up to deliver mail until 8 or 9PM, explaining in a shellshocked way how much of a mess the Broadway office was based on their experiences. (My route apparently doesn't even have a dedicated postal worker, which I assume only makes things worse.) I've had at least ten instances now of having to pick up what appear to be deliverable packages at the post office, for absolutely no discernible reason. At this very moment, I'd been expecting a smallish package that was inexplicably listed as undeliverable. I scheduled a redelivery (which I now conclude is not as reliable as "Where's My Mail" inquiries, for some reason) and later followed up on the tracking number to find it is en route to be returned to sender, without explanation. Again: I've had the head of this location follow up via email on "where's my package" requests, and even made a follow-up call once—all showing that the people working there are good. I just don't know what happens along the way between employees with good intentions, and recipients routinely missing deliveries.

Always a line, never really care about your time. Always rude. Literally can be in the best mood and they will consistently ruin that. Absolutely no maintenance done in this establishment, entered in this morning, and it looks like the broom and dust pan are a thing of the past. Spent 10 mins in line swatting off flies from the previous day. Customer service is a 3 tho.

Condescending and rude. When you schedule a package for redelivery, your tracking information for this particular usps location will tell you to pick it up instead. Then they will tell you the official USPS notice on the website for your tracking information is incorrect, despite it being written there in black and white because this is a very organized and well-operated post office.

I go to this location at least 2x per month and i have to say it’s my favorite usps location that ive ever been to. There are 2 locations closer to me but i will choose to go to this location because they are so friendly, helpful, patient. I usually get Heath’s window but i have also interacted with other staff. Thank you guys! Keep it up, we notice!!

The office was understaffed during the holidays, but Heath was the sweetest, calm, and most helpful person despite the stress of being at the post office. They no longer have tables and it’s dusty/dirty in there, hence one star taken off.

10 out of 5 stars. Thank you so much to everyone at 1369 Broadway Post Office. My mail was lost for two weeks and your staff found it today after a lot of hard work. Instead of being dismissive at the counter, you all went the extra mile and searched for the letter until you found it. I didn't even get to chance to explain that it contained irreplaceable documents which has literally made my life so much easier. Thank you again to CC and her supervisor who found my letter at the bottom of a bucket. You have restored my faith in humanity. God bless every one of you.

USPS attempted to deliver a package of mine at 7:30am, leaving a "final notice" slip even though it was the first attempt at delivery. It landed at the Bushwick Post Office – I initially scheduled a redelivery for the day after, but it never arrived. But as soon as I contacted the post office directly, everything changed. The person taking calls was SO helpful and thorough, triple-checking to ensure my package would arrive as soon as possible, and it did! She even called me to confirm the package arrived the day after arrival. Such great customer service, which is hard to find at a post office!
