A wonderful experience with Gavin creating a custom emerald ring for my partner. The hardest part was finding the right gemstone - tricky because supply is more limited for coloured stones, but Gavin had access to some great merchants and with some persistence and patience we secured the perfect one. Gavin handed me the most beautiful piece of custom made engagement ring he had crafted for me this week. The design of the ring setting consolidated mine, my fiance's and Gavin's ideas - Gavin recommended to allow more light into the emerald cut diamond with the split shank setting. I appreciated his brilliant suggestion which is something i never thought of or knew about, while him being open to collaborate and work with what we had in mind. Not only the ring is unique and crafted in the finest detail, it is an absolutely stunner! I've spent the good part of the weekend finding myself just staring at it. I would highly recommend Gavin Fisher. I approached a number of 'jewellers' and as one might expect, most of them were shop fronts, with the jewellery outsourced. In contrast, Gavin is a genuine jeweller and performs the workmanship himself. As an engineer with an interest in lapidary work, I came to Gavin with particular design requirements and he met them all. No puffery or marketing, all straight answers. Gavin does not require CAD drawings because he handmakes the ring, which enables a clean-pronged appearance that cannot be reproduced by 3D printing. Gavin provided hand drawings to ensure that we were on the same page. Don’t be drawn in by jewellers whose sales pitch is CAD design as this usually means that the metal is cast into a mould formed with the aid of a 3D printer. Fine for some purposes, but not mine. I am more than satisfied with Gavin’s work and I anticipate that the ring will last. Cheers mate.

Cannot praise Gavin enough! I had an unusual request, regarding an old, gold family heirloom watch. He listened respectfully, made valuable suggestions and ensured that the skilful changes he made, were almost invisible.

Gavin fixed some poor workmanship from a commercial jeweller which cause the diamond on my Fiancés engagement ring to fall out. He was able to fix it exactly as per the original design but with a much stronger method and fit us in with a reasonable turn over time on short notice!

I came to Gavin with an engagement ring that was 6.5 sizes too big (don't ask aha) He was very responsive and open with his pricing. I had a difficult ring to resize as it was very big and the gold was different with the ring being from India. Nevertheless, Gavin still charged me what he quoted, it was done within the timeframe and it fits perfectly. All and all I am very happy with the overall experience. Thank you Gavin!!
