Great breakfast! We had scrambled eggs crispy bacon grits pancakes and biscuits. Thanks for cooked perfectly the gravy was not greasy, yet it was tasting. The price was fantastic. The coffee was hot and delicious. The service was really good, with a great sense of humor.

This is a down home small place with absolutely the best soul food. It is a tight squeeze with parking and seating but it is well worth the wait!!!!! Plus it is a great price for the food you get.

Small hometown diner at its best. Gives off a 70's-80's vibe but good food for a reasonable price Super nice people.

Exactly what I’m looking for when traveling. Great atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service. Kyla was working hard to get everyone taken care of quickly and politely.

We used to stop here every time on our way through Brownwood. Never again. They hung a sign announcing people who don’t share their politics or faith are NOT WELCOME and PLEASE LEAVE. They proudly shared it on social media. I just don’t think that kind of nastiness and partisan political correctness in support of “othering” our fellow Texans belongs in a restaurant that I will support. Good luck.

Good comfort food. Great prices, and very friendly staff. Their secret ingredient is one of their most valuable staff members. Shirley may not be good for you calorie conscious folks, but she will pleasure your taste buds to no end with her delicious cinnamon rolls, chocolate cake, and other heart felt favorites. She's been a fixture since her daughter was eight years old. I won't share her daughters age with you. You will have to drop in and treat yourself to some of her treasures. Who know's, she may come out of the back and surprise you with her sweet presence. Thank you to Shirley and the friendly crew.

Hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. The service is great the food was amazing and the price is cheaper then any where I've ever eaten and the food is hot I love this place I wish they were open longer but that's why they are so great!!!! AND I still think they are hands down best place to go eat breakfast friendliest people everybody knows everybody and you actually see waitresses enjoy their job and their customers and for the cooks not one complaint foods always hot just the way I like it no matter what and bacon comes 2 ways crispy or floppy there is no extra crispy bacon a cook joke that happen this morning great place

Boy! If you want a tasty breakfast this is the place! I ordered their breakfast special: 2 eggs, hash browns, 1 pancake and bacon with a cup of coffee on a Sunday late morning. It was very busy so I had to wait for my order. The coffee had great flavor, not too strong or too weak just right! Their pancakes were very tasty and big! They were soft and had a great consistency! Bacon was tasty too! big and well cooked Their eggs and hash browns were also good too! Overall a great breakfast, it did not disappoint! The only draw back is this place can get very busy, but I see why. Hope this helps.

Food is usually pretty good. This time my pancakes weren't cooked all the way, but my waitress Sabrina had no problems getting it fixed for me right away. We try to go here as often as possible

💕 Love that at home feeling you get at the community Diner! That's what I felt when I got the menu with the home town special served daily 2eggs served as ordered with hash browns and choice of breakfast meat 🍖🥓 toast or biscuits and gravy 😋 I will be going back there to eat now that I have been! 🌄👍

The definition of southern hospitality. You have a hard working kitchen, and a hard working wait staff, but they still find time to be polite. The food itself was fantastic. Eggs, bacon, and grits cooked to perfection. It ain't as good as mama's cooking, but it's the next best thing. If your looking for the classic, all amrican, family run diner you found it.

Fantastic breakfast! We enjoyed scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, grits, pancakes and biscuits, all cooked perfectly. The gravy had great flavor without being greasy. The price was also fantastic and the coffee was hot and delicious. The service was excellent and the staff had a great sense of humor.

The Red Wagon is a 70's Cafe kinda place. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. But if you are looking for a home cooked meal, it can't be beat! Their lunch specials are the way to go. For $10 you can get a full meal including dessert and tea or coffee. There is usually three items on the special, chicken fried steak every day, and a choice of 2 other specials differing by the day. Wednesdays is my favorite, it is liver and onions day.

Absolutely the best place to go in Brownwood for breakfast! I’ve lived in Brownwood for about 3 years now, not once had I actually ate here until today. I’ve always seen how busy the parking was, and people always talked about how good the biscuits and gravy are. So this morning I decided “ why not go have breakfast there ?” As I’ve been talking about it for a few week. Red wagon did NOT disappoint! Not only is their food really good, the biscuits taste homemade and it’s fairly cheep! Where I’m from that simply little meal for two would have been $35-40 no including the tip.

We were told to just sit anywhere but the empty tables were all dirty so we sat at one. When the waitress came to clean the table, she acted like we were a real bother to her. Food wasn't bad. When we left, we left a cash tip on the table and when the charge showed up on the bank account, they had added a $5 tip for a $20 check! I like to tip according to the service I received and no way was it worth 25% plus the 15% I had left on the table! Definitely won't be returning there!

Quaint Country atmosphere. Breakfast is the main item and served all day, 6am — 2pm. Lunch special is a surprisingly good price for all you get. Service was wonderful. There were many regulars and the staff greeted them by name. We will definitely be back
