This is my go to for BBQ when I come down to Texas. The brisket is the best I've ever had, so juicy and flavorful. Plus, they are so welcoming. I feel like I'm visiting family when I come in to eat. Extra note: I bought a couple briskets to take home to Wisconsin and it was a hit with everyone!

It's like walking into a favorite aunt's home. You're treated like family everyone is welcome and treated like family. If you leave here hungry it's your own fault.

I've never been much on BBQ but this place is AMAZING! we stopped in to grab some food while passing through and was THE BEST I've ever had! is kinda costly, like most everything else nowadays, but was so worth it. I had a plate with 2 meats, potato salad, coleslaw, pickles, onions , BBQ sauce on the side AND a delicious peach cobbler for the included dessert. was $17 and made two meals out o that. was ALOT o food. the lady working there was so friendly, funny and made it a great experience. I highly recommend it! yall git oan ovah thar!!

Finally gave this place a try after being in Brownwood a few times and I can't believe I didn't stop by sooner. I ordered the two meat lunch plate with moist brisket, homemade sausage, red beans, and collard greens. Everything was really flavorful, texture was perfect, and not too salty like some other bbq joints in Texas. This should be a stop for anyone who wants some tasty BBQ. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food that you get here.

Wonderful BBQ, Great gentleman behind the counter. Give him our business. Brisket had great flavor, fork tender. I use it for enchiladas.

When I walked in, it had a just cleaned smell. My take out was neatly packaged. Brisket was tender and tasty. Ribs were not fatty, just tender and juicy. Cobbler was good. People working were very friendly. Neighborhood atmosphere.

Love this place, the homemade sausage and the brisket are both so tender. I also liked the macaroni salad. The people are so friendly and helpful. It's definitely a place to visit for BBQ

This is a legacy restaurant the family is chosen to continue to lead the legacy of Smitty everyone enjoyed Smitty's BBQ and would come and get it from all over they enjoyed the taste the aroma and the smell of the freshly handed plate that was given to them as they ordered each and every plate this is an In-N-Out place unless you choose to sit down there are tables inside they'd love to see you there so why don't you go check out their menu and see what they have for you

This is a family owned business. They are the sweetest people and will serve you the best plate of brisket. Good prices and great desserts.

Hands down some of the best BBQ and sides I've ever had. The brisket in particular was incredible but the ribs were also almost just as good. Sauce has perfect flavor and the rub/seasoning on the barbecue was perfect as well. I recently went with one of my grandpas recently that lived in Brownwood in the 70's and he was surprised to see it still open and told me it tasted just as good as before. Why this place isn't on lists for top Texas barbecue spots is beyond me.

Driving thru and stopped for BBQ on recommendation from a google search. Brisket is served chopped. Pork ribs were tender. Both meats tasted good, but ribs were the best. I personally did not like the BBQ sauce, but my husband did. Sides of beans & potato salad come with a plate order & they were ok. If I'm passing through again I would go back for the ribs.

Such good meat!! The brisket was amazing. I plan on that being my last meal... brisket with the bbq sauce and a side of red beans with bbq sauce on top! If only they had buttermilk bisquets!
