First time in. Eric was the gentleman waiting on us. He was attentive, friendly and amazing is an understament. We had a tumbleweed for an appetizer, it was really good. Hubby had the country fried steak, I had catfish and shrimp. We both had fried okra, and LOVED that is was not greasy and soggy. And the apple pie was the perfect ending. The atmosphere is laid back and homey. Cannot recommend this place and Eric enough! Will definitely be back.

The service was great and the food was good. The only thing that stops me from giving it a 5 star is that my steak was a little tough and had way to much pepper. I had to scrap it off from how overwhelming it was, now I love pepper but this was just to much. The chicken fried steak was good and so were the fried pickles.

Food was really good. Service was great. I could not give more than three stars because they were allowing people to smoke inside. Luckily they had a nice patio, with no one else on it

Came here on Father's Day for dinner around 5pm, we got seated and ordered drinks in less than 5 minutes for a party of 5. Food was great, the wait time was a little long but once the food arrived we can tell why. Food was hot and looked amazing. Highly recommend for good food and a night out.

I highly recommend you stop here.. I had a chicken fried chicken and ceasar salad, spouse had a chicken fried steak. Honestly it’s one of the best chicken fried chicken I had in a long time. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Don't do this often, especially for a steak , but this place was almost 5 whole stars. Not saying service and atmosphere weren't great... Best steak ever(not cooked by my hands... lol

Have been coming to Lake Brownwood for years and always come into town to eat. I don’t know how we missed this place, but we will be back year after year from now on. Food was awesome! Eric was an excellent server. Decor captivated us! A must in in Brownwood/Early!

Steak nachos were really awesome! Watch out for the buttered rolls, they're highly edible. They'll ruin your appetite if you listen to them. Erica, our waitresses was super-awesome!

Had heard good reviews from other coworkers so decided to check it out. I first walked in, and there was a horrendous smell. Hostess at the front didn’t even greet us, she just asked if we wanted the smoking area or not. Order food for take out. Ordered the steak (medium rare) and salmon plate with loaded baked potato and Cesar salad. Once we paid there was a hold due to “new system” which is “acceptable” total came out to 29 and some change. Once I get back to the hotel to eat, I noticed that the potato I got wasn’t the loaded potato it was just a baked potato with butter. And I still got charged for it. And the steak wasn’t medium rare it was more of a medium well. It wasn’t even rush time. Any ways I may of been the one bad Customer experience of the day, but won’t go back

Great food, great prices, good service. If I'm ever in the area again, definitely stopping by to eat. Portion sizes are great for the price. The okra would have benefited from some fresher oil to be cooked in, but still had a great dinner.

There were 7 of us in our party, and we came in for a late lunch. Unfortunately, they were out of ribs that afternoon, so 2 of us had to change our order. But everything we ordered was delicious! Our appetizer and rolls came out quickly, and our waitress brought extra plates and drink refills without being prompted. Everyone's food came out at the same time, and it was all piping hot and exactly the way we ordered it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating here in the future.

The chicken fried steak tasted like it was cooked in old grease. Rolls were not done. Savanna was nice and she gave good service. Not sure if the oil was due to the end of the day or it just wasn’t being changed appropriately.

I was fairly impressed with it being a pretty dmall town in the middle of no where. My waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly, the food came out fresh and was cooked almost exactly to my liking.

Was here for my first time tonight. A friend treated me to dinner for my birthday. Everything was great. I can't even complain that I received my steak rare instead of medium rare. It was amazing!

Came in 40min before close, and after the hostess physically threw a fit before we walked in, the server at the bar was fantastic. Food was delicious and the drinks were good. Lots of seating at the bar. Tons of options on the menu that sounded great. Prices were very reasonable, also. We left quickly after eating so the back staff could stop popping in to see if we were still there, and I forgot my phone. They saved it for me and brought it out when I came back to pick it up. If you must be in this town, this is a better option than the national chains.

Amazing place and atmosphere if under staffed. Litteraly everything here is great. The rum-butter apple pie is to die for! The employees are great, they just need more! Slightly pricy

This place is awesome! I was with a big group and got seated quickly. The variety of options available on the menu is great! We all ordered something different and everyone was amazed how good it was. My server was knowledgeable and helpful. I'm going back today :)

I went to lunch here with my brother and his son, my nephew after my nephew had just graduated. The girl who served us was on her first day, she was sweet and just needed more time and training. Overall the place was really clean, had separate smoking and non smoking sections, and the food was decent. In this particular area, this was one of the better restaurants.

Stopped at Humphrey Pete's and had a quick bite to eat during lunch. The atmosphere was packed but quiet! The environment was friendly and inviting. The food was delicious and plentiful. Prices were actually very meek, especially for a steakhouse. I was impressed by the quantity, quality and speed of the food.
