Another Tx State park down and plenty more to go😎. It was a windy & cold day but still enjoyed my visit. Good trails, clean restrooms, boat ramp, camping. Offers more than what I expected always a plus.

Where to begin?! The staff is AMAZING. Cannot thank them enough for their kindness and hospitality. Very warm and welcome feeling as soon as we got into the park at check in. Our tent only campsite is gorgeous. The scenery and sunsets alone is worth the visit.. the kids loved the open areas that are spikey free and go right up to the water. It’s too cold so we didn’t swim, but we fished and enjoyed the water all the same. We stayed at a tent only electric site on our last visit and that was very nice as well. The history of the park is really neat to learn and teach your kids or educate yourself on. Lots of stone structures were built by he CCC here that you can still enjoy today. They have really nice cabins as well as lodges, screen shelters, electric hook up sites, and water only sites. we stayed at an electric holy tent Site with water our first visit and a primitive site our second visit. My only complaint would be that their showers ran really really hot and then went cold after about five minutes.. but i think that met by a temporary hiccup? Painted sunsets and rainbow lake 💕 it’s stunning. We stayed here 6 days this visit, and could not have been happier with our visit. Thank you, Lake Brownwood SP staff and volunteers!

Beautiful State Park! Campsites right on the water, enforced quiet hours and very unique, moderate and fun hiking trails! Lots of history, too.

This is one of the nicer state parks that is close to home for me. Pretty well maintained and lots of shade. No wifi. But for the cost it's great. $25 gets you water and electricity and of course a dump station with nearby restrooms and showers. BBQ grills, fire pits and paved roads and sites. There are two sites that are the best ones and close to the water. Of course if you're off the water a little bit further you'll get sewer as well. I'd like to tell you but I'm a little bit stingy and what if I go and you got my spot. They're all nice though.

Came here on a weekend camping trip and it was great! Beautiful scenery, EXTREMELY clean bathrooms with showers. The camping, picnic, swimming, and fishing areas were all very well maintained and very clean. The park has very nice trails to go hiking/walking and a very beautiful large swimming beach. It was probably the best park I've been to, but then again, I haven't gone to many. I definitely want to come back to visit again. It was a great experience. (Burn Ban was in effect so we could only use propane gas to cook - no charcoal or wood burning - and we didn't get to make s'mores, but the sites did have fire pits, which were real nice.)

Don't stay at site 76, it's facing a parking lot, the garbage container and has full sun until 4pm. I always wonder what host's are doing in these parks..the site and fireplace look like they haven't been cleaned within the last months. The same with the trails. The good reviews might probably come from people having a blast on the lake or choosen a much better site. The bath house is more or less clean and needs, like everything an update.

We spent a night there on the tail end of a 3 week 3,100 mile roadtrip from east of Dallas to several state and National parks, ending in Joshua Tree National Park, western California. $6.75 gas! We spend the night at Lake Brownwood State Park on the way home, and it made us gasp! The Park is large with several rv campgrounds and numerous cabins. And, the most awesome, ccc era construction, including a great hall on the lake shore. Available for weddings etc. Just amazing stone and rock work by the CCC workers in the 30s. All the amenities seem neat and clean. Staff told me some families have had annual reunions there for 50 years. The campground we stayed in was a WWII recreation area for military troops. Some 60,000 troops recreated there during the war. Admittedly, it was end of March, after spring break, and nearly empty. Summer is likely a tourist nightmare. We will definitely go back. 5 stars!

Excellent park... RV spots are a little close together, and the trails could use some markings... But, the park was still a great place to visit.

Beautiful state park: gorgeous hiking trails and lake, clean grounds, no loud kids or music playing, has clean bathrooms with showers. Park Rangers were helpful, nice location. Saw the most gorgeous sunset and storm roll in!

Springtime puts this fabulous State Park under a blanket of wildflowers. The trails through those flower meadows are one of the best in the state. Highly recommended!

Lake Brownwood State Park is so beautiful in spring. My only complaint is the cabins leak rain near the fireplace & the trails could be marked much better using a color coded system. Other than that, highly recommend the park for a nice getaway.

Had a nice relaxing time. Did some fishing and walking around. Nice park and the weather was beautiful. Fishing wasn't too good but that is why it's called fishing and not catching. Regardless it was a nice getaway and the park services keeps the park well groomed and trash free. Lake levels are low so that definitely had a bit to do with the fishing. I caught 3 freshwater drum, a couple of small catfish and several brim. Take some time for yourself and go fish and relax. You and I know it's about relaxing.

Beautiful part of Lake Brownwood to swim and fish. Park is clean and always looking good. If looking for place to camp this is great place or try renting a cabin for weekend prices very affordable.

Lets start with good news, san sba, brownwood and now the brownwood state park have verizon cell coverage, lte 5-bars in town, 3g here at the park. At&t has 5g in the park. Friendly staff, lovely sites, a bit dry this fall of 2022 but excited to be here.

Camping was nice. Our site parking was a little unlevel. The front gate rangers were very nice, check-in was super easy. The site is large, in our loop we face into a large open area that was fun to look in at night. The lake is beautiful. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring.

A great state park! We love visiting a Lake Brownwood State Park. They have everything from camping and event buildings to fishing, swimming, hiking and boating. We frequent the park to because they have a great boat launch with parking. The ramps are great with courtesy docks. The parking can be limited for trucks and trailers sometimes but it’s usually great. The staff is always friendly. The park is clean and is spacious.

Nice quiet park with great host. We arrived late and someone was in our spot so we just found an open one and host had no issues with it. It was a better spot for us anyways.

The state park was a wonderful and secluded experience. This would be great for a weekend getaway with your wife/girlfriend. Or this can be a really fun family experience. I highly recommend it, and I look forward to returning soon. Although the fishing wasn't as good as I had hoped for.

Another great Texas State Park. Cabins are a nice perk, too. The trails highlight the beauty of the area so don't neglect to take a hike.

Excellent camping experience! Bathrooms were clean, and the camp hosts were extremely friendly on the Willow Loop. We had site 21, and it backed up to the lake. We didn't have time to hit the trails due to storms. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

This was a very nice park. We visited each campground and all of them were very nice. The trails are nice and easy to hike. The facility is clean and the management is friendly. It is far from town and cell service is limited.
