Update: 2nd visit. Stopped to eat since we were visiting family and friends in the area. Met the best waitress-Kenzie. Great service, totally friendly and attentive to everyone at the table. Made today's visit even better. Nice hill country dining experience. Good size plates for the price. Saturday at 6:45, had a 20 minute wait. Enjoyed my chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus. . Cheese burgers were thumbs-up by everyone who ordered one. Cold bottle bear and sweet tea.

Highly recommend the chicken fried steak! It is huge and delicious! The fried mushrooms are the perfect appetizer. The green beans are fresh, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Food is homemade. The prices are great! The staff are very helpful and friendly. Relaxing atmosphere.

Looking for a frog legs? Antlers Cafe is your spot! I had never tried them before, but they were pretty good. Like a slightly tougher chicken. My burger was so good though. I would definitely go back.

Stopped in to try before going to nephews baseball game. Staff is friendly, fast, and attentive. The frog legs were pretty good as an appetizer and were much fresher tasting compared to other restaurants. The cheese burger and fries really hit the spot. The presentation was right on, and the burger was juicy along with being tasty. If you like your French fries with the crispies around, you will like the fries which I like. The atmosphere is a good feel of a country cafe. The seating has a good amount of space between tables, not cramped. For those that are ranch dressing picky…. Ranch is THE B🌟ST… it must be homemade.

Wonderful restaurant with that great Texas feel to it. It has delicious home cooking with all the typical favorites. We had their Grilled Pork Chops which were so tender & delicious. We also ordered their grilled Liver & Onions with gravy which was great. They also have grilled chicken, chicken fried steak and so much more. The restaurant has been around for more than 30 years & has great food, friendly & wonderful service, and nice Texas ambience. Also very reasonable prices. It’s a place where you can just relax & enjoy with family & friends. They also have one of the best outdoor seating with cooling fans at a restaurant that I have ever seen which is so wonderful. Their outside patio would be an excellent place to have a host a party. They are always busy so plan to get there earlier especially on the weekend. Highly recommend.

This is hands down our #1 favorite restaurant. We’ve both lived and traveled all over the US, but this restaurant is the one we dream about, talk about and keep coming back for. Though we enjoy their great prices and Texas-sized portions, we most of all enjoy the amazing quality of their hill country home style cooking and their unique atmosphere. It gets crowded at times, so it’s a good idea to dine early.

OMG, where do I start!! It was our first time coming here and it sure won’t be the last! My husband had the chicken fried steak plate and couldn’t finish it all!! And it was the regular size! I had the hamburger steak and absolutely loved the brown gravy, it isn’t from a package and had a hint of bourbon in it! My fried okra was so good and I like that the mashed potatoes are real and not from a package!! Our server, Kristen, was excellent! She came to check on us a few times but didn’t hover, which is so nice!! If you haven’t been here, GO!! You won’t be sorry!!

Love this place! I had read about it for some time and finally made it out there. We have since been back again and plan to take visiting family there next week. Everything we have tried has been excellent. My wife has had the ribeye twice and said it was delicious. The chicken fried steak is the best I have had in San Antonio. The catfish was cooked just right. The mash potatoes might just be the best I have ever had in a restaurant. My son was excited to see lima beans for a side and loved them. To top it off the coconut cream pie alone is worth the 20 mile drive for us to eat there. The only negative is they need more places to sit while you wait on a table if crowded. Good fresh home style cooking.

I love there menu! You know a place is good when it has a one page menu!! Those are there specialties everyone of the items are good and they have fresh ingredients! That is what a one page menu straight off the bat tells me! And it was true! This place was delicious! It was my 2nd time there and 1st time eating frog legs! The batter was delicious and the legs were huge! I couldn’t finish it! But took it to go! I had there chicken fried chicken the first time I found this spot with the jalapeño Mac & cheese, and green beans. Also Jessica was our server both times and she was great! So sweet, patient & attentive, even with a packed house! I will be returning for there amazing menu & service! Oh for desert we tried the bread pudding and lemon pie! Definitely you should finish the meal with something sweet!

You get Frog Legs there! And they are very delicious. It‘s a very crazy Restaurant but the food is very good and the staff was very nice to us. Important to know is, that there are free chickens running over the tables. That is maybe not everyones wish.

We have loved Antlers Cafe for a long time now and still love it just as much as the first day we came. Great staff and great food! It doesn't get any more Texas than Richter's Antler Cafe.

My last meal of 2023 was a great one. Decided to try out Antler Cafe in Spring Branch, Tx. I have to say that this restaurant totally exceeded my expectations. My Pan Fried Pork Chop plate was massive and packed with so much flavor and juiciness. The fried okra was some of the best I've ever tasted and the creamed corn did not disappoint. Can't believe all this greatness at price of $10.99. My lunch I would say was a 10 out of 10. I found the restaurant to have a family friendly environment with happy smiles everywhere. The service was on point and the staff all worked together as a winning team. Well, for my next visit, The Chicken Fried Steak is definitely the next item on my list. I highly recommend Richter's Antler Cafe!

Absolutely delicious! We stopped for lunch after driving from Galveston and it was delicious! The hamburgers were some of the best we've ever had, the staff was amazing with our party of 12, the grilled shrimp were perfect.

I ordered the fried catfish and was highly disappointed. I received 4 tiny catfish strips. This place is known for its large portion size. The only exception apparently is the catfish. My lemon wedges were wider than the catfish. For $1 more you can get 2 massive chicken fried steaks and won't be walking away hungry like I am today. If you're in the mood for fish go anywhere else but here.

Flavor: B Service: A- Tea: A Solo dining: A The crowds may make you want to turn around, but the wait wasn't long (even at noon). This is one of the best chicken fried steaks I've had in central Texas. It could be a little more flavorful in my opinion - but it's tender, not gristly, and perfectly battered so it sticks to the meat. And the large is about half a cow. Potatoes were homemade and okra was crispy. Everything was hot and fresh. Even the salad was good - with a mix of greens and homemade ranch dressing. If only I would've had room for dessert. Maybe next time. And there will be a next time.

One of the best Chicken Fried Steaks Ive had anywhere. Was crisp and full of flavor. Crust was truely like fried chicken, and tasted like the crust on Church's chicken. Jalapeno Mac was actually spicy, something other places dont do right, with decent slices of jalapeno. Creamed corn was good, just needed some salt and pepper. The difference between the regular and large chicken fried steak is an entire extra steak, and its only $2 more. I ordered the large and took the extra to go.. and it didn't go to waste. It was gone before the end of the night. Service was great, staff was friendly, portions were large, prices were very fair. Definitely going on my list of places to visit again. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean, outside dining area was nice as well. Many items on the menu I'd like to try including the chicken wings, liver and onions, and catfish. A great place to visit if your looking for some good country style southern food.

Four of us went on Sunday evening around 6pm. No wait for a table, the waitress was amazing. Our food was phenomenal…when it arrived. 3 of us received our food after 30-40 minutes. The last plate arrived 15-20 minutes later. The catfish was melt in your mouth tender, the chicken fried steak was the best I’ve ever tasted…oh, and their gravy on fresh cut mashed potatoes…YUM!!! Will definitely go back again, just please don’t make us wait so long for the deliciousness!! And the chickens were cute too 😁

Warning, if you go here, go hungry! This is hands down, the best go-to stop for down home, country cooking. Their burgers & chicken fried steak are why we return time & again. Large portions, made to order & delicious! It's also nice to see a place where the staff laughs with one another & are quick to help each other out. They also are quick with the quips to the customers, especially the regulars. Makes for a light & enjoyable experience. It's what keeps us returning time & again!

First time here. Loved the country feel. The staff were wonderful and so kind. Enjoyed a steak with jalapeño Mac & Cheese. The Okra poppers weren’t fresh, nor were the chips. Everything else was delicious. Will definitely come back and highly recommend.

The Antler Cafe was a great choice for our family! Service was friendly and prompt and continuously attentive. Prices were fair for the large serving sizes. The food had a great variety and everything we had was delicious. Our child loved looking out the back window at a turkey that was behind the restaraunt. They did forget to bring out one ordered item, but were extremely apologetic and refunded it without any issue. Great experience. Will return when in the area.

The chicken fried steak is out of this world! Loved the flavorful white gravy and the jalapeno mac and cheese was so delicious. Not to mention the buttery Texas toast that comes with it... YUM. Great atmosphere, lots to look at for the little ones, super friendly and nice staff. The prices are unbearable for the amount of food/portion sizes. Can't be beat! My only complaint is that there wasn't a changing table in the women's restroom so we couldn't change my nephew's diaper. We had to go to the car. Everything else was fantastic! Will definitely be back when I am in the area!

Great food, cozy Hill Country setting and world class customer service! The CFS and Cheeseburger were too notch. Our server - Jennifer - was on it and she couldn't have been nicer! All that being said you would expect a 5-star rating, but it pains me to take a point off for the disgustingly duty men's room with a broken towel dispenser, an overflowing trash bin, and a foul smelling urinal with flies hovering around it. I brought it to the attention of the hostess. Thank you, Antler Cafe for a great meal!

We're in the area for the winter season and we've noticed that this restaurant is always busy...and now we know why. Wow! Delicious, abundant food and excellent service now make it a top restaurant in the area for us. Thank you!

Great service. Nice outdoor dining. Chickens don't bother with too much. Food was typical for Texas mom n pop dining. No vegetarian options but had 2 fish dishes.
