Hidden gem, beautiful spot, nice little park built on a century-old pecan orchard. Water access for paddling, fishing, swimming. I visited a second time in my motorhome. It is primitive camping (no water, electric or sewer), but for an overnight stay that's fine. Veronica at the city of Brownwood office was very nice and helpful, she texted forms etc. About 8 pm a police officer came by to check that I had a reservation, he was courteous and friendly. The camping spots are huge and spread out from each other, not wall-to-wall like some places. There's a concrete boat launch area. Great place to paddle a canoe or kayak, I saw quite a bit of bird life.

Be prepared to drive into what looks like someone's property to get there. Otherwise, it is beautiful and tranquil. I just felt that I was going to be stopped and asked what I was doing there.

Fabis Park is definitely a gem of Brown Co. Located on Pecan Bayou and surrounded by wildlife i.e. deer and turkey nearly always can be seen. The tranquility and beauty of Fabis Park is what always takes me their nearly daily. They do offer primitive camping and reasonably priced. Absolutely love going there

This park is named after Fra Adolf Fabis one of the founding fathers of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. He left behind a rich legacy in the world of Jewish Fraternity. This is a beautiful place that horrors him in his adoptive home of Brownwood Texas.

It's very quiet at night when you're camping here which is very reasonable at 10 bucks a night there's no electric or water It's primitive campsites but there's a nice fire pit with grill that flips up and out of the way as well as the fire ring to clear out the debris easily, large Picnic table easy access to the site you can drive right into it with your car put you tent up just about anywhere you'd like the creek is nice and flows the length of the park with a boat ramp by the entrance of the park the gate locks at 9 and you can't get back in if you leave but while you're out there at night you feel like you're out in the wild even though you're a stones throw from town. Have to get camping permits wither from the house at the entrance or the Adam's street community center which I had no trouble getting in about 5 minutes. Cash accepted. Restroom was a portapotty but there's a convienece store down the road if you can't stomach that it's only 5 mins to a real toilet. No showers here. There is a volleyball set up

Great place for a day trip! Overnight camping requires a permit, sold off the site!! Picnic area available, on-site restrooms (pretty rough thou), pets must be on a leash. No playground
