Magnificent church housing a relic of a cloth that legend says was used to wash Jesus after he was crucified. It is brought out only at certain times of the day so check that first if you want to see it. The church itself is really beautiful with magnificent stained glass, paintings, artefacts, and architecture

Such a serene and peaceful place of worship with rich history and basilica of the holy blood. It gives you emotional uplift to see such a precious relic on view only on Fridays. A place must to pay respect and visit while in Bruges. 🙏🏼

The church is located near the main church. When you see a building with a gold, it should be the church. You can enter the building for free from morning until around 17:00 You must not make any noise. You are allow to take some pictures. They have paid tour inside the church if you are interested. The decorations look beautiful and amazing. You can pray in the church.

The Church of the Holy Blood in Bruges is a remarkable blend of religious history and architectural beauty. This sacred edifice is renowned for housing a revered relic—a phial said to contain a drop of Christ's blood. The church, with its Romanesque and Gothic elements, stands as a testament to medieval craftsmanship. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by intricate stained glass windows that bathe the interior in a kaleidoscope of colors, creating a serene atmosphere. The upper chapel, dedicated to Saint Basil, showcases stunning murals and a richly decorated altar, offering a visual feast for art enthusiasts. The highlight, however, is the venerated relic displayed in the lower chapel. Pilgrims and tourists alike marvel at the relic during designated times, fostering a sense of reverence and spirituality. The intimate setting of the lower chapel enhances the overall experience, allowing visitors to connect with the religious significance of the relic. The church's central location in the heart of Bruges adds to its allure, making it easily accessible for those exploring the charming cobblestone streets of this medieval city. While the Church of the Holy Blood may not be the largest cathedral, its historical significance and artistic grandeur make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the intersection of faith, history, and culture.

A small but beautiful church from outside looks. This church is famous to have a cloth of Christ's blood. I didn't get chance to get into the church. Hope I'll get a chance to visit this place next time.

This historic church is located very close to the bell tower in Bruge. There is a museum as well for which you have to pay 6 € to get in. The inside of the church on the 1st floor is beautiful. Currently half of the main prayer area is under renovation. But if you are in Bruges then you should visit this beautiful old church. Very peaceful too.

Beautiful basilica situated in Bruges and which is divided in a upper one, where the Holy Blood Relic between 14.00 and 16.00hrs. is offered to visitors for veneration, and a lower basilica which is smaller. Both are beautiful but the upper basilica has still my preference 😊

Entry to the Basilica is free of charge and there's no waiting. Between 12 and 16, you can view the relics of the Most Holy Blood of Christ. You might need to wait in a queue (I waited 20 minutes). You can make a voluntary donation and spend a moment in prayer before the Relics.

I was fortunate to experience the mesmerizing atmosphere of this 12th-century chapel in Bruges, Belgium. It's said to house a vial containing fabric stained with Christ's blood, attracting the faithful, skeptics, and the curious alike. The chapel's historical significance and magnetic relic leave an indelible mark on all who step inside.

Small Basilica that has the relic of Christ’s blood. At noon there was blessing and veneration of the relic where you can see it up close.

Extremely mysterious place where the priest guards the treasure... you can see 2 sections without paying, 1 is paid (treasury) but it is just a symbolic price, the interior is beautiful, colorful, wooden, miraculous, soothing ...

Beautiful medieval gothic church. It’s free so there are crowds but it was easy enough to get around and see the different parts of the church.

We visited this place for free and there was step free access via a lift although you have to ask the staff to get there. Interior looks amazing with the relics etc. if you want to visit treasury you have to spend an extra 5 euros which is not really worth it.

What it lacks in size it makes up for in awesomeness! My kids loved seeing the relic. It was an experience I think they will always remember!

Outstandingly beautiful! Lots of respect shown. I am not a religious person but truly felt moved by the surroundings of this place!

I'm very impressed by the beauty of this basilica. The relic, the Holy Blood of Christ was brought from the Holy Land by Thiery of Alsace, Count of Flanders. It's really worth a visit. Look for the priest on a raised altar, there is where the relic was kept. He will also give you a small pamphlet. Donation is optional.

The experience that we get through theory is entirely different than practical one's. Entering this place would make us clearly understand that difference 🤩. Must visit place in Brügge.

The intricacies of the artwork are incredible. The detail in the woodcarvings is quite impressive and for a few euros you can go into the small museum to view some more of them up close. This is a great place to spend about 30 minutes to an hour admiring an incredible church

The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a 12th century chapel, in the medieval town of Bruges, Belgium, which houses a revered vial containing cloth stained with the actual blood of Christ. Or so it is believed. Impressive church with a main altar and a side chapel that is completely covered with stained glass windows and artwork along with sculptures.

It is very beautiful and well taken care of om the inside. My only complaint is the lady that was covering the viewing area of the vial. I waited to see if donations were necessary as I didn't have any cash. When I saw several people walk through without paying anything I walked through as well. I had noticed that all the other people that walked through were handed a prayer book from the lady as they left. When I went through the lady just looked at me and pointed to the prayer books. Since they were like behind the counter area and I would of had to reach behind the vial I was confused if she was telling me to take one. Since there was a line I just left without it. I watched and noticed she went back to handing everyone else one. I'm not sure why she singled me out. I asked my boyfriend about it, since he went through the line and was handed one, and he said she probably judged me because I have a bit of facial piercings. It's very off putting to know that someone in her position would treat people like they don't deserve to be there but hopefully she finds the peace she needs in her life so she won't be so judgemental to other people in the future.

Truly amazing spiritual and emotional experience for me. You are able to take part in the veneration of the holy blood daily between 1400-1600 (2-4 pm). The treasury is modest but still worth a quick look if you are willing to spend a few bucks to see it.

Bruges holy blood Basilica is lovely. We attended daily mass at 11am. Below the staircase is a door to the Chapel. Please tell the burly guy standing guard there that you are attending mass. In the afternoon, please proceed upstairs to view the Holy blood. A little donation please for the Basilica upkeep.
