Beautiful place, the location was great, a ten minute walk from the central square but far enough away from the very busy streets so it is quiet at night. The staff were very professional and friendly, rooms were big and felt luxurious. Coffee in the room was great and the shower and shower products were a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing! A lot of choice and good quality food. Nothing negative to say at all, was a great experience here.

Beautiful place with friendly, helpful staff. Pay attention when they show you where to find places on the map they hand out. The room was comfortable and it was very quiet at night. I was easily able to walk from the train station with my luggage. There is a nice breakfast place right out the front door, and a small, fun bar right next to that. 5 minute walk into the city center. Lovely courtyard for gathering together if you're with a group. I would definitely return if I'm lucky enough to go to Bruges again.

Wonderful staff, got a lot of useful recommendations from the front desk and the manager Hans was very courteous and reasonable with an issue with the room. The room did not have working AC so after two staff tried to fix it we ended up sleeping with the window open. The walls are also a bit thinner than average. Otherwise the room is well kept. Location is perfect for those taking the train.

I stayed here for a long weekend in Bruges with my partner. Firstly, the location is fantastic. It's a short walk to everywhere worth visiting within the old town. It's also right next to Minnewater, a stunningly beautiful park next to a small lake. Completely romantic! Also there's a great selection of restaurants, pubs, cafes and chocolate shops within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel front door. Second, the hotel is clean, modern and its staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer questions and provide suggestions for activities and sites to visit. The rooms were reasonably sized, the bed was very comfortable. Thirdly, great breakfast. There was a comprehensive selection of foods on offer and everything I tried was really tasty. Lastly, I drove to Bruges from the UK. The hotel was easy to get to and has an underground carpark. I drive a supercar and was wary about parking because of the low ground clearance. I needn't have worried, one of the hotel staff helped guide me in and allowed me to use a fantastic space. I wasn't concerned at all for the safety and security of the car. I'd highly recommend Duke's Academie. This hotel catered for our every need, and provided a fantastic base from which to explore a stunningly beautiful and interesting city. Thank you! We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here during our visit to Bruges. We decided to stay one more night because Bruges is beautiful and so is this hotel. It’s been renovated completely, boutique style hotel, rooms are nice and spacious. Beautiful bathroom with a shower, not tub, which I appreciate! Modern and stylish lobby, cozy little bar and nice patio to lounge with a drink. Location is great too! Minnewaterpark is less than a 5 min walk, you’ll be able to see many swans. Everything else is 10 min walk, Bonifacius Bridge, even Bruges square. The staff is friendly and attentive, the breakfast is good too and they have a specialty coffee maker, which is a plus. Don’t hesitate and book this hotel, take it from me, I only stay at 4 or 5 stars hotels everywhere I go in the US , Europe, etc.. This hotel is very nice. In addition the area feels very safe too but Bruges in general feels safe everywhere.

We had a family stay here and booked three rooms. The hotel is tastefully decorated and it’s clear they have a had a recent refurb as all the carpets were new and everything was spotless clean. The breakfast was very good, the bar was a nice a place to spend some time before heading out and everyone was helpful. The rooms were ok - two of the three did not have any working air con and even though it wasn’t too hot outside it was warmer in their than i find comfortable - there are also no towel rails to dry wet towels and a couple of quirky bits like the door to the fridge not opening now there is thick carpet. All in all we had a very nice stay here and would recommend.

Nice, comfortable hotel, decent amenities, good buffet breakfast (although no longer have champagne or chocolate nibs for making own hot chocolate)

A short walk from the train station... beautiful room, huge breakfast station, and nestled perfectly in this cozy town! Worth all the stars it gets. Would stay here again and again!

Loved everything about this hotel in Brugge. Excellent location in the heart of the town, but on a quieter side street which made for a perfect location that was very convenient. The rooms were very nice and modern, and an overall comfortable stay. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly and always willing to help. I would absolutely recommend staying here and hope to come back one day.

I stayed her for 4 nights and would definitely go back. The room was lovely, comfortable and pretty. There was a nice bath and shower. It appears all newly renovated. An added bonus that there was a fridge in the room. The cleaning staff was excellent and extremely efficient. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was excellent: hot and cold options and very good coffee. The location was very convenient from the city centre and the train station and there are quite a few good restaurants right near by.

Very nice and clean hotel. Location is perfect walking distance from all the places you want to see in the city and the train station. The room was clean and good airco on a hot day made the room even more comfortable at night.

Lovely hotel in a great location - close to main shopping/eating/tourist attractions but tucked away in a small side street (with some great quirky little shops, bars and cafes). The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed and the breakfast was superb. There were 6 in our party, in 4 rooms, and we all loved our stay in the hotel.

couldn’t get out of here fast enough. rooms and property were nice but staff was not friendly at all. the service felt like what you would expect from a 1 or 2 star hotel, not a 4 star hotel. tried to check in 15 minutes before check-in time and they claimed the room wasn’t ready yet... i left a day early because the town is very sleepy and overpriced for what you get.

Unfortunately the hotel isn’t quite baby friendly as during our stay with our 17 month old we had to deal with guests banging on our door (and walls) when our baby would cry (babies cry, there isn’t much we can do). I don’t feel like the hotel did anything to address this with the guest that was staying there as it happened on both nights during our visit. Perhaps the walls are very thin. Other than that, the hotel itself is quite nice, location is good, and the service was also good.

Location was perfect right in the centre and within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the room service staff were great always making sure our room was cleaned to a very high standard. All round excellent stay would definitely recommend. Also next to a brilliant pub!

Located withing walkable distance from all the tourist attractions. Nice interior design, great breakfast, spacious room - it was a pleasure to stay there.

We loved this hotel. The most famous brewery in Brugge is 2 minutes away by foot and the madonna from Michelangelo is 5 minutes away by foot. So, the location is perfect. Also the street where the Hotel is, is so beautiful. The room was big and clean. The bathroom was pretty modern, which we liked. My go to Hotel in Brugge for next time

Good: 1) Very friendly and polite staff 2) Probably the best breakfast ever 3) Location 4) Very clean Bad: 1) The rooms are nice and comfy BUT the led lights on all the switches are so intense that you cannot sleep at night. We had to improvise and cover them but still didn’t sleep (see pics) 2) Parking is a nightmare. The parking is so tight and small that if you have a bigger car , parking becomes a real challenge! Better park somewhere else. 3) In all public spaces and corridors the temperature is set at “surface of the sun” level.

Our welcome was amazing the gentleman who checked us in was so fantastically helpful and friendly it was lovely. The room was great for a family of four. Amazing breakfast. Remember to book your parking directly with the hotel as there is not a lot on Bruges, also beware there is a 1.80m height limit and the parking spots are very very tight! Right in the heart of Bruges a great place. The gym does need looking at according to my other half, no water or towels and a couple of machines out of action, but I wasn't bothered by that at all! Great staff all round in the hotel. Highly recommended.

Very nice and clean hotel. Location is perfect walking distance from all the places you want to see in the city and the train station. The room was clean and good airco on a hot day made the room even more comfortable at night. The hotel staff even offered us to leave our bags in the hotel while we still enjoyed the city for our last day after checking out.

Beautiful hotel located in the centre of Bruges, but a little away from the busiest streets, in a quiet and beautiful alley. The staff is very friendly and answered all my requests before arrival with kindness and availability. Nice reception area with bar, decorated for Christmas. The room is superb, well decorated, with a little attention on arrival. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom renovated and clean. The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had (lots of choice for people eating gluten free). I will return here if I come back to Bruges!

Positive: Clean and good price and has parking onsite (which is super tight but convenient). The mattress was comfortable but not the pillows. Negative: I couldn't tell which was thinner, the pillows or the walls. Did not really get a good night's sleep on either night I stayed there because the pillows were as thin as paper and very uncomfortable. We could hear people all the way until midnight while we tried to sleep above us walking around and talking as well as in the rooms next to us. It seems speaking at a normal volume was still able to be heard through the walls. Also our A/C didn't work but it made a super loud rattling noise whenever it was on, though no cold air came out. They kept a nice clean facade on the outside but they definitely skimped and tried to cut costs in the rooms. Overall: it was still cheap and not gross like some hotels, and has a private bathroom so although the pillows and walls weren't ideal it was an OK stay but definitely could've been better. New thicker pillows would've been a cheap way for the hotel to greatly increase the quality of the stay with minimal cost. I'd recommend it for the price only if you brought your own pillow

We stay just for a day, but experience was amazing. Helpful and very polite staff. The hotel is strange, but pleasant mismatch of traditional Bruges architecture and contemporary exterior. Very close to historic centre, walking distance. The room was very clean and comfortable.

My second time staying at Hotel Academie, and it was even better. The refurbished bar is a great place to relax over a drink, and the prices are very reasonable. Ideally situated close to the minnewater, you are close enough to stroll around the town, but the hotel itself is in a quiet spot, we only heard the occasional clip clop of the horses, but this just added to the charm. Comfortable well appointed rooms, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. Didn't try breakfast as I like a wander into town to try the cafes.

Beautiful hotel from the entrance hall to the bedroom. Positive points: super friendly staff who are trying their best to speak your language, very good buffet breakfast, good bar aswell and very good looking room. Bad point: the room is not soundproofed at all.. I could hear the neighbor taking his bath... I hope it will be improved in the future.

We had a quadruple room in the B building. The corridor was smelly and didn't look as new as other sections of the hotel. The room itself was old, with the furniture peeling off, a dirty carpet and a smell of mold. We kept the windows open all the time we were there. On the positive side, the room was of a nice size for 4 and had a small table to have breakfast. The hotel is well located too, less than 10 min walk from the market square and in an area with nice restaurants far enough from the tourist traps. The hotel also has a parking. The spaces are super narrow though so if you have an SUV type of car like us it'll take you a while (and a lot of stress to park)

Hotel in central Brugge, easy to reach, with a public parking within 150 meters (hint: get a Pcard to have a good parking discount). Superb breakfast, clean rooms, good value for money.

Great hotel. It's about a 15 minute walk from the train station. Rooms are large, clean, quiet and safe. And it's located in the town centre, so it's convenient to shops and restaurants. Staff are also very nice. They will give you advice on places to avoid. There are also shared areas with an ironing board, ice machine and a microwave. My only complaint is that the bathroom light is controlled by a motion sensor rather than a switch. This seems like a good idea, except when you use the loo in the middle of the night and the lights are too bright and they stay on for a few minutes. I would stay here again 🙂

Gorgeous hotel, nice and clean rooms. Actually much better than expected for this price range. We've had some issues with finding the parking place, but it was solved after a call. Great service!

Great location to visit the Christmas markets. Breakfast was great. Be vary of the underground carpark it's secure. But if you have a large car it's very difficult to navigate around the pillars, chances are you will scrape your bumpers.

Great staff, assistance above and beyond helpful. Terrific facilities, my room had a wonderful rooftop view toward the East. Code to some of the best beer and most amazing history in the world. Prices were great for location and level of care. I'd absolutely stay here again.

This was our 3rd visit to Bruges, but our first to this hotel, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in the future. It's beautiful decor is so inviting and the reception smell's Amazing. The room's are spacious and very clean, the staff where lovely, and it does the Most AMAZING breakfast. It's in a beautiful location, close to many restaurants etc and only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. I would highly recommend this hotel

Nice hotel, staff were very accommodating and spoke great English. Friendly hotel, clean and reasonable walking distance to the town centre and railway station. Be prepared to walk to the hotel from a drop off point as it is not on a main road. Bars and restaurants are in the same street.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Kind reception, very clean and comfortable rooms, large beds. In a quiet area but next to the city center and 7 minutes away from the train station. Wide range of options for breakfast. Undoubtedly, I suggest this hotel.

Really nicely done interior. Rooms are spacious, we had issues getting into ours however staff were very attentive and tried their best to resolve. Staff gave a good map of the city and pointed out some places of interest. Very helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Walls were quite thin though, as we heard a couple going at it several times throughout the stay... So maybe best avoided if you have children
