This is an excellent fully vegetarian restaurant. They were able to make dishes vegan and the food was extremely high quality. Highly recommended, and easily worth the price.

This exceptional vegetarian restaurant earns a perfect 5-star rating for delivering innovative plant-based cuisine that goes beyond traditional vegetarian offerings. The kitchen demonstrates remarkable creativity in developing unique vegetarian dishes rather than simply adapting meat-based recipes. This fresh approach to vegetarian cooking shows understanding and respect for plant-based ingredients. The menu impresses with its extensive selection, offering diners plenty of choices. The variety demonstrates the chef's ability to create diverse and interesting dishes using plant-based ingredients. Service quality matches the excellent food standards. Staff members provide attentive and knowledgeable assistance, enhancing the overall dining experience. The restaurant succeeds in proving that vegetarian cuisine can stand on its own merits without relying on meat substitutes or traditional dish adaptations. Their innovative approach brings fresh perspectives to plant-based dining. For both vegetarians and those exploring meat-free options, The Daun offers an outstanding dining experience. The combination of creative cuisine, extensive menu options, and excellent service makes it a standout choice for quality vegetarian dining.

NOT SPONSORED (reviewing just for fun) - The place has nice & relaxing ambiance. - The staffs are very friendly & helpful. - They use self ordering system (scan QR code to access menu & send order to their system through your phone) so you can take your time to browse through the menu. - They're also a cafe serving coffee & pastries. - Food was awesome. Nasi Lemak & Nasi Claypot was 10/10. - Drinks were a bit overpriced but since it's a pretty luxurious place it's understandable.

The best vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Brunei! Really impressed with their flavours and textures. The place is beautifully decorated with plants and wood theme. The staffs were really friendly and service was quick. Heres what we ordered: PIZZA. The base tastes like sourdough and was crunchy yet chewy. You can choose half and half to try two flavours. I recommend the honey cheese and onion jam tuna. The combination of honey and cheese were delicious. The onion jam tuna was amazing. I couldn’t tell that this was a vegetarian substitute of tuna at all. The flavours were well balanced. However, my recent visit the pizza toppings were too oily and there wasn’t any micro greens or pickles on the onion jam tuna like previously. THE DAUN KUEY TEOW. Delicious with wok hei flavour. Slightly spicy and not too salty. The plant based meat almost tasted like chicken. Overall, was very delicious. SIZZLING NOODLE. The broth was thick and flavourful with plenty of vegetables. The portion of the noodles were quite large as well. Tastes almost exactly like the ones served in Chinese restaurants. KUIH IN TEA. This is a seasonal drink that we really loved. Reminds me of kuih seri muka but in a drink. It was very refreshing, light and not overly sweet. SWEET SOUR CHICKEN. The vegetarian substitute for the chicken was quite spot on. In terms of flavour I could hardly tell it was plant based. The texture was softer than chicken which I really enjoyed. The batter was nice and chewy, the sauce was addictively sweet and sour. TARO AND SWEET POTATO BALL. This dessert was refreshing and light. I really love the texture of the sweet potato balls, very chewy. Overall, we really enjoyed the mains served to us. However, for the snacks we found that most deep fried snacks like the ONION RINGS and LOTUS ROOT CHIPS, were very oily. Will definitely come back especially for the pizza!

I came to this place because it was "highly recommended" by my colleagues. The service was great. The waitress that was attending us was pretty patient and nice, she answered all the questions asked about the menu. I ordered the Arabic Shawarma, Onion rings and buttermilk pasta. The pasta sauce was extremely watery and I couldn't find the "wow" factor once I had a taste. The onion rings were the most disappointing dish. The onions were BARELY covered with batter - you can still see the onions and just a little bit of bread crumbs surrounding it. IT WAS NOT IT. The Arabic Shawarma was supposed to be the "winner" since it was quite expensive - $8 for the dish. However, it didn't taste as good as it was priced either. It gives off "Jollibee Pita Sandwich" which is much cheaper and tastes exactly the same. I was overall disappointed with the food. Ambience - great. Service - great. Food - not so much. I'm not sure if I'll return again.

One of the few vegetarian restaurants in Brunei serving tons of vegetarian and vegan versions of traditional local/regional dishes. I had the vegan chicken rice (only available Friday-Sunday) and the sarawak laksa without egg to make it vegan. I liked the vegan chicken rice, but I do wish it came with the traditional way of serving with soup and soy sauce on the side. The chicken rice came with rice, ginger scallion, chili paste and chicken with sauce underneath. The sarawak laksa lacked taste and flavours. I did find it bland, even after squeezing the calamansi juice into it. Condiments were not provided on the side (salt and black pepper), but I wish these were to leverage my dishes more. Service was good.

i have been to The Daun a few times now, love the atmosphere and the food; the Ayam Bakar, the Mee Jawa and their tofu, mushrooms are delicious. however it takes forever to be served my food despite advance order! average waiting time is 45-50, this not a restaurant you can go to when you are starving.

Located behind the fitness zone in Kiulap, was somewhat an abandoned building, now renovated into a very modern restaurant that only served vegan menus. The Daun looks fancy from the outside with a 2 storey service area. We ate dinner there so to my knowledge parking is no problem. Though, when we went in, the place almost looked full because there weren't a lot of seats on the ground floor. The first floor is closed off so I don't know what to expect. The Menu looks really nice as the pictures of the food (at least the popular ones) are in it. They are a healthy amount of choices you cannot go wrong with. Especially the recommended ones. We bought the nasi lemak, steam garlic rice? and the satay. I should add that they use plants based on their meat. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Service was really quick and we got our food in fashionable time. Food is really, really good. For plant based options, I was very surprised how great it tasted. The steam garlic rice taste like something out of a claypot dish. Nasi lemak was also really good with it's tempe and sauces. The satay with its abalone and peanut sauce. Really recommended. And the lemon tea I ordered, was done right. Just the right amount of sweetness. With all the praises I gave, there is bound to be a negative. But a small and opinionated negative. It's slightly pricey. I do understand how much research and taste they put into this menu. But I don't recommend going here if you wanna be filled up or starving. The portions for their price are really vast. But you will be no longer hungry but you are still not satisfied because it's so good. It's a positive for the restaurant to know how well a person's appetite but you are going to be slightly disappointed how much they give. I do recommend trying out the rest of the dish. Especially the popular ones. You left me disappointed......because I want more of it.

First time here with my nephew. lovely lively clean restaurant. Service was good. We ordered Nasi lemak. It was okay nothing special about it. The sliced cucumber were cut way too thin, no crunchiness. I preferred the other vegetarian restaurant (can't think the name on top of my head) are so much better. Don't think I would come back again.

The restaurant features vegetarian malay dishes. The meat substitue are either eggs or mushroom. The nachos were light and made of rice but the sauce did not do it any favours. The cauliflower wings tastes like tokoyaki. The cakes we ordered were scrumptious and full of nuts. The bubur chacha had a mellow sweet flavour and the coconut milk was fresh even though there was no sago. Their butterfly pea tea had subtle flavors of pandan , the oatmeal was crunchy and had a good amount of berries. Theservers were friendly and the restaurant itself has a bright and clean atmosphere. Overall, its a great place to have good desserts and chill, if you dont mind the price.

Nice food. Wide variety of dishes to choose from. Contrary to some reviews here, our orders arrived super quick! We had the basil vegetarian chicken, ginger and mushroom chicken rice and Fried mushrooms. Nice place, I would return again to try other dishes. Total bill for our meal was $23 for two persons. Very reasonable.

Good experience for first time visit. We had fried cassava with chutney, something equivalent of a momos/dumpling soup, sizzling tofu with eggs and mixed fruit /vegetables juice. All dishes were fresh and with unique flavours and both dumpling soup and tofu with eggs quite savoury. Will revisit as there is plenty left to try. The menu choices are massive!!

Hands down the BEST vegetarian place in all of Brunei, no contest. Chinese vegetarian places should be put to shame and take notes, and improve their own menus for the modern day vegetarian/vegan/non-allium customer. Best has to be the pizzas, the honey garlic is almost indistinguishable (save for the vegetarian meat) from the real thing from pizza hut. The fried foods usually comes out very oily and it's hard to finish. This is probably the worst part of the menu. Other foods like curries, fried noodles/rice are also delicious, albeit heavily salted/msg-ed, sometimes even after the less salt option, causing me to often leave feeling heavily thirsty. The desserts are a bit of a let down, many times when we visited, they do not look or taste fresh. The staff are friendly, although we encountered one who didn't really speak English (poor lad looked really confused when we asked him to compliment the chefs), but that's not a big deal. I was also pleasantly surprised they made a seasonal drink for Halloween, and I fully respect that. The drink itself was unfortunately, a bit too sweet, even as a sweet tooth, but otherwise it tasted good, like a caramel-choco mix.

Great food, great service, decent coffee. I came here twice in my three days in Brunei and it is very well run. The gado-gado and jackfruit wraps were delicious. The decor is very well thought out (except the incongruous lucky cat that sticks out like a tacky lucky cat in such a beautifully designed and lit restaurant) and the team are wonderfully helpful.

Dining here so far has been good experience after good experience. The staff are grinding and new menu items appear from time to time where the chefs are experimenting with how to present more vegetarian options. I'm impressed and highly recommend
