If you go to Brunei, you must go to Jing Chew Restaurant 瀛洲号. On each visit, I will go several times, as their bread and drinks are good. Their signature yellow bread are baked continuously throughout the day, and you can go when the fresh batches are baked. Then you can eat it piping hot. Today, I had their Teh Tarik, with half boiled eggs, and 1. ROTI KUNING KAHWIN 鸳鸯黄面包 $1.20 - their signature bread, with butter and kaya, is very fluffy and fragrant. Their sides are toasted just nice, to add a crispiness without drying the bread. 2. . ROTI KACHANG KAHWIN 花生鸳鸯面包 $1.40 - a recent modification of the traditional Kuning Kahwin, with lots of peanuts mixed with the butter in between the bread. The peanuts add a different texture and with each bite, the peanut and butter oozes out! Everything goes very well together with their tea and coffee. #choowai2023 #wongchoowaieats #wongchoowai #sgfoodbloggers #sginfluencer #sgfoodies #sgfoodinfluencers #brekkie #breakfast #jingchew #bruneifoodies #brunei #yummy #yummyfood #bread #tehtarik #brunch

Brunei most popular kopi tiam, freshly baked buns to drip with kopi for your teabreak. Especially like their speciality, roti kunning bakar with home made kaya and thick slice of butter, so good. They use good quality & strong kopi powder that gives a kick. Alway very crowded halal cafe restaurant. Highly recommended, reasonable pricing. Shopowner start this kopi tiam decades ago and now run by his children. Business is so good that they expanded to 6 shoplots space. Definitely must-go-to kopi tiam.

Roti Kacang Kahwin was the highlight of the day. Come and try it for yourself, I have nothing but praise for this kopitiam, been here since I was young and it was the same as ever: hot buns and home made kaya. Second to none, this place is my all-time favourite and a must visit every time I return. Keep up the good work and will visit again really soon! 👍

An old-school Bruneian favourite! Bread and bun are freshly baked daily and there are lots of variations to choose from. The most popular is the “roti kuning” literally yellow bread, with either eggs on top or if you have a sweet tooth, kaya and butter (dubbed roti kahwin). Another of my all time favourite is the sesame kuey tiaw (pictured) garnished with fish and tofu. A must go if you’re visiting Brunei!

It is one of the famous establishments in this city they said. There are many selections of bread and pastries. We had some peanut and kaya toast. The bread itself is soft and mildy sweet, together with the salty butter and crunchy peanut paste was heavenly, kaya toast, however, was just lack of typical coconut taste The curry puff i had was just okay, with a thick pastry with curry potato filling Pricing is okay and affordable

Had their roti kahwin, which is toasted yellow bread filled with kaya and a thick slap of butter. Tried their cheese bun, it was so good! It's filled with cream cheese filling inside. Cham and pandan cake was nice, not too sweet. They also serve many sorts of freshly baked bread like coconut, French toast, with eggs etc

This is an old establishment popular among the locals for breakfast. The menu has many interesting items, none more so than the unusual Sesame Kueh Tiaw topped with fried tofu and fish, with a splattering of some kind of sweet sauce over it. This is a bland tasting, weird but interesting dish.

Bread, pastries and toasts were very tasty in this very traditional place. However, the coffee left something to be desired as it's probably not freshly brewed (perhaps premix).

Their roti kahwin is a 100% must try, the portion is quite huge. I also got the Hainan mee which I feel like it's too salty, but still decent.

This is a charming, old-school spot that offers a traditional atmosphere with authentic food that stands out for its unique flavors. The service is quick, but parking can be a challenge if you're driving. Opting for a Grab ride would be more convenient. Overall, it's a great place to dine and experience.

Bread Custard Kahwin tastes good! Love the indoor, cleanliness & comfortable. The Teh Tarik richer tastes may not as I expected, but it sweetness just nice to match the bun. Carpark free around the Bakery. So it quite good try for visit in Brunei.

Another iconic mandatory stop when you’re in Brunei. Come for the oven fresh baked buns usually between 2-3pm. (3pm is when it gets crazy packed) Another interesting dish is the sesame kway teow which I don’t recall seeing anywhere else.

Tried their recommended roti kuning kawin and roti kacang kawin. Both were tasty only if it's still warm. Ofc can warm it up in the microwave, but not so special. Service was a bit confusing. Need to upgrade their hospitality, by a looooottt.

Delicious food with plenty of options for breakfast/quick munch. They have a wide array of buns for sale too at the front entrance. This restaurant is busy all the time but the service is quick and it's comfortable.

That one legend place for breakfast. Various fresh buns and beverage options are available. Either for a quick bite or having a decent meal. Always crowded, but their service surely fast. Quite the popular shop so better be ready to find a plce to park your vehicle.

This is classic restaurant that serves pastries and other fried stuff.. The roti kawin is nostalgic so does the curry puff.. Reminds me of my childhood eating breakfast with my father and granddad.. This place is a must go for breakfast or brunch or lunch or tea or dinner..

There isn't much choices of Kueh to choose. Butter bun isn't ready after 1.30pm. I bought one pandan bun.

I love the food there! Very delicious and just up to my expectations. However, the service is quite slow there and they'd keep you waiting for a little bit even though they could actually pick up the pace. Unecessary delays I would say.

A nice place to have a breakfast or snack on tea time. Were tempted to order every items to taste but unfortunately short on time, so we ordered Roti Kacang Kahwin, Roti Kuning Kahwin, Seame with Fish and Hainan Style Mee. And all is good! Especially the Roti Kacang Kahwin which taste bit like apam balik minus the jagung but with bun version. We came early on 7am Saturday, so the cheese bun and the egg tarts weren’t ready yet. Next time if I ever come to Brunei again, I will try to come on 2-3pm ish weekday as many stated there will be fresh new buns.

    1. Roti kuning kahwin 2. Roti kacang kahwin is another best. 3. Cheesebun very cheesy. 4. Red bean bun with a twisted taste...love it as they add five spices to their homemade red bean
