The Mall Gadong is Brunei's largest. But coming from the Philippines where many of its malls are among the world's largest, I found it quite small. The mall was busy when we visited. It's weekend and most of the people were observing their "puasa" or fasting. It was an hour before 6PM which is the end of fasting, and shoppers were already busy buying their food of choice. The whole food court as well as the restaurants around mall were full of diners waiting for the time to eat. And retail stores closed minutes before 6PM, probably to allow everyone to eat. The mall has a total of 4 levels with a variety of shops or boutiques. It also has a food court and cinemas located at the upper floors. I was hoping to see many international brand outlets but it seemed that the tenants were mostly local.

Nice place to go shopping. Very near to the place that I'm staying where it is just a walking distance. Have a variety of shops inside. The design of the mall is kind of unique to me. Also the mall is closed on Fridays 12-2pm because of Friday prayers so basically all the doors will be locked. If you're inside the mall you can't go out via the main door. You can only exit through the one and only back door.

The mall is quite good actually, with lots of different restaurants and stores, a great variety of choice you could choose to eat, frozen yogurt, pearl milk tea, Thai food, fast food etc. And very convenient if you are living in the hotel upstairs. However, during weekend, the mall would be too crowded that lots of car would come to the car park that the reception just keep taking the money from the driver and keep letting them going in, without having quota! We all stuck in the basement! The management would take it seriously as long as they get the money at the entrance already. I am living in the hotel upstairs, feel disappointed with the arrangements.
