Food: The food was amazing! The portions were big as well. Calamari plate was so good! The squids were fresh and soft. Yogurt side with Calamari was rich in taste. Salmon risotto was flavorful. It seems a bit different than traditional Italian risotto but the taste is very good. Lamb steak was delicious as well, it came with rasin sauce which was a good match to the meat. It came with a big portion of salad and a potato side. I really liked the potato side. Environment: The vibe of the place was also very nice. It is very cosy. Although it is right in the city center it is very spacious. Also the toilets are very clean. The corona measures are followed well in this place. Staff: The staff was also very warm and hospitable. The only downside of this place I would say is it is cash only. They do not accept any kind of cards.

Loved the atmosphere. We got a small table on the mezzanine space. I went for the Argentinian steak and my friend went for the sausage. Generous portions. Simple menu with lots of traditional dishes. They bring bread while you wait for the main dish.

Very nice dinner here. I got a traditional Belgium dish: Carbonnade aka Flemish stew served with mashed potatoes (Beef) It was a great dish! The gravy / sauce was lighter which was nice. Loved trying something very traditional.

The right place to try traditional belgian dishes. The staff is nice and the food is good. The restaurant inside is made up of long tables were customers are accommodated one near the other, this quite typical in Belgium. Prices are in the average and portions are normal (not too little and not too abundant)

Very casual but traditional Belgian bistro. Super popular. No bookings taken - walk-in only. We arrived at 6pm when they opened and by 7 the place was absolutely packed full. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and very generous size portions. Good value!

We tried this place the second night in Brussels, after reading the reviews. We chose 2 pork options (knuckle and tenderloin) and a chicken salad. All the dishes were great, especially the knuckle which were super tender with a tasty sauce!! Huge portions and normal prices for Brussels. Everyone working there was kind and friendly!! I totally suggest it!!

Might have to wait a bit to get a table but it’s totally worth it! The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. The Carbonade especially is absolutely delicious!!

Best place in the center for typical Belgian food (and more). Location is central. Staff impeccable (it's rare in town) and prices simply fair (beer, main dish, dessert = 30€). No booking possible, but worth the wait!

Lovely cafe in Brussels with a retro - vintage decoration, nice vibes, locally crowded with some tourist. Service was excellent, very knowledgeable with the food and beer options, fluent english speaking waiters. The food was good, fair priced and hearty portions. The beer selection was local with some craft beer and independent brewers

I visites this place before the COVID. This is the place where you can enjoy the typical hospitality according to Belgian people. I have had my first experience towards their typical plates and it was wonderful, especially meat and beer. At the time of my visit the place was quite crowded, despite it was off the weekend. Absolutely worth a visit, if you are able to!

Very nice establishment. Apparent brick walls on the inside with industrial touches of steel and copper. I had a very generous portion of spareribs with baked potatoes and mixed salad. Reasonable prices and welcoming staff

The most delicious Belgian food in town! Must try : the "Carbonade à la Chimay" (flemish stew) and the "lapin à la Kriek" (rabbit made with cherry Belgian beer). Really friendly service also.

My husband and I came here for his birthday and after living in Europe for 3 years this is hands down the BEST European food we've had since living here. Service was amazing and it's very close to popular bars. It was recommended to us by Delirium Cafe staff and it definitely comes highly recommended by us as well!

Very lovely place. They have menus written on the blackboards on walls and are clearly visible and legible. Place gets packed by the evening. English is well understood. They have few beers in tap and quite a few on the menu. We had the traditional Flemish beef stew which was wonderfully done. The price was absolutely fantastic. For a stew and 2 tap beers we spent some 19 euros. And for the taste it is a bargain.

Belgian food, good quality and fine price. For a meal with beer, you will spend around 20 euros. The staff is kind and friendly (incredible for Brussels). The atmosphere is nice and casual. I recommend this place to discover Belgian food since their menu is quite extensive. You can find meat and vegetarian dishes and a good selection of Belgian beers. Go for it!

Food was delicious and service was pretty quick. We had pork, lamb, steak, and a bunch of deserts. Everything was well-flavored and perfectly cooked. A decent beer and wine selection as well. The seating is mostly long tables (or a bunch of small tables push together) so it is a bit cramped and you get cozy with diners in other groups. However it also makes it easier to sit if you yourself have a large group. They did allow our group to split our tab which is pretty unusual at table-service restaurants in Europe. Only complaints is their website recommends getting a reservation. We tried to call a few times but they never answered the phone. We also had our hotel concierge call but to no avail. When she checked their website she said they weren’t accepting reservations until early February. We assumed this meant they were closed and so we made other dinner plans. Thankfully we happened to be walking by, noticed they were in fact open, and were able to easily snag a seat.

Absolute 10/10. Delicious food, friendly service and beautiful, very traditionally looking restaurant. The portions were more than enough (even a steak of someone sitting next to us was so big!). Craft beer was also very good 👍. Overall we didn’t pay much for the food (portions were really big). And there were meals under 20€ too. Mostly 20-30€.

A popular pub-style eatery with ample seating and a large bar, popular for their variety of beers. Ordered their Belgium sausage and mash mixed veggies, sausage was dry inside however I liked the mix mash with veggies. The waitress appears to be in pain or having a hangover as she didn't look well or happy while working. The place was mildly business with family, when I left there were a few more groups arriving.

This place was suggested to me by a local and I was not disappointed. I have been here for a work dinner. Cozy restaurant in the heart of Bruxelles. They serve local food and have plenty of dishes. Somewhat limited offer of draft beers though. Prices were correct considering the location. I will definitely come back if in the area again

ONLY CASH. Unfortunately we only had card. We had two beers and the manager kindly left it on the house. The dishes look very good and the atmosphere is pleasant. Hope to try in a next time in Brussels.

The service is very friendly and courteous. They were also quick with the serving. The food is very tasty. We recommend the pork sausages with the veg mix and the Flemish stew with mashed potatoes. The price-performance ratio is also good. Good to know: You can't make a reservation. You can pay also with card.

Food and staff were amazing. Good experience for trying food in Brussels and left full. Portion sizes weren’t bad and the crème brûlée was perfect. Honestly would come back again when I come back to Brussels. Only gripe was the hot chocolate but I guess that’s just what Belgian hot chocolate is. Chocolate chips in hot milk. We don’t speak French and had no problems. Atmosphere is great. I love the way the restaurant is styled. Beer was priced right a well. 50 ml for 5 euro as it should be

Really nice pork knuckle, but I think someone smoked inside the restaurant... also, you can only pay with cash.

  • 5/5 Nishaan D. 11 months ago on Google
Delicious food and great service. The Flemish beef stew was amazing, pork chop was also super good. Goat cheese salad was tasty but not incredible. Would recommend for authentic Belgian dishes but not if you’re looking for veggies and salads. House wine was quite good as well. Only thing is that they only take cash so I had to walk to an ATM.

The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly! Food is divine, and delicious ale! I tried the signature Carbonade which was delicious, came with potato puree and a couple 🥦. Beef was cooked with beer, and gravy tops it all! 🍷 🍻 Soft drinks and spirits on the list as well as desserts which I didn't have any room for. The high ceiling dining room with great interior, the atmosphere in this place is amazing. All wooden tables are lined up on the same row, and somehow you felt like having a long bench group meal. We had a great conversation with 2 lovely gentlemen who sat right next to our table. Super friendly crowds and highly recommend. People in Brussels are so friendly! Absolutely love it. Not sure they take reservations but there was a queue outside the main door as soon as we sat down just after 8pm.

This is a bustling restaurant that is well known amongst locals for the delicious Belgian dishes they serve. If you are looking for Belgian cuisine as a tourist or a local I can recommend this place! Mind you it is usually busy so be there early. I don’t think they book tables in advance but you can try. Prices are reasonable. Space at the table can get a little cramped but that makes the atmosphere typical. Enjoy!

Stopped here for dinner after checking in. Seated immediately and welcomed by a cozy environment with well known songs to lighten the mood. Ordered beers (fantastic) and I ordered soup (after a day of miserable travel) and husband ordered the Flemish stew. Both amazing and we cleaned it up! Friendly staff and helpful to us English speakers!

The food and the service are really good! They have some different draught beers that are very good and the overall price (food + drinks) is fair. Keep in mind that the place is a little crowded.

Nice spot slightly away from tourists. Decent traditional Belgian food and good beer in a cozy spot. I had the rabbit which was tasty but the side vegetables didn’t have a lot of flavor and were not really very nice. The service was fine also.

Decent restaurant with good food. The servers could be more attentive though. The food itself is good but far from being something special. It’s a decent restaurant but not more than that.

We came in this tiny restaurand by chance, looking for a different place. We were impressed, the staff is so kind and nice, and the food is great! We had the classic belgian dishes with a very nice beer. Awesome food, rich and perfect after a long day wondering around in the freezing cold. Also, very nice price compared to the average of the city. Definetly recommend it!

We were able to try this restaurant during a non-peak time, which was nice because it made us feel like we had the entire restaurant to ourselves! The sausage dish was delicious! Ambiance of the restaurant was quiet. Less than 30 mins after we left the restaurant, the restaurant was packed - full house and lively!

Found this restaurant near our hotel and decided to give it a go for dinner. You won’t be disappointed because the food was absolutely delicious, we had the Flemish beef stew and sausages & mash, it was flavourful. Would definitely recommend coming here if you want to try some authentic cuisine. Also staff was friendly & welcoming :) even gave us some advices on what we would prefer.

We were seated inside and the place is really cute with an old feeling to it but the staff is very young. The service was quick and polite. Rcommended restaurant to taste Belgian cuisine. Although we were there in the middle of the week, the restaurant was almost full. We ordered belgian Goulash and rabbit dish. The Goulash was rich and tasty. Rabbit dich served with prune based gravy, and the vegetables were cooked in way to have crunchy bits. The food taste generally good but not exceptional. The chair and table were a bit uncomfortable and wobbly. Service was friendly and fast.

A very beautiful restaurant in the center of Brussels with vintage decoration, the staff speak perfect English and are super friendly. The food quality is just amazing. We ordered pork knuckles and spare ribs and both of them came with roasted potatoes and salad. Both of them were delicious. For the price you pay, you get a somewhat large portion of food which might be too much for some people.

Typical Belgian restaurant with traditional dishes like rabbit in beer sauce (lapin a la Kriek) or sausages and mash (stoemp et saussices).
