During
our
quest
to
discover
culinary
gems,
we
ventured
to
Rugbyman
No
1,
lured
by
its
appealing
menu
and
favorable
ratings.
However,
our
experience
revealed
it
to
be
more
akin
to
a
touristic
attraction
than
a
gastronomic
delight.
The
menu,
while
enticing
on
paper,
translated
into
dishes
that,
although
competently
executed,
did
not
align
with
the
expectations
set
by
the
pricing.
For
a
modest
selection
of
starters,
two
main
courses,
and
a
bottle
of
wine,
the
bill
amounted
to
approximately
160
euros.
This
pricing
seemed
excessive
given
the
quality
of
the
fare.
Notably,
the
lobster
dish,
a
typically
luxurious
offering,
was
disappointingly
small
and
lacked
flavor
and
succulent
meat
characteristic
of
well-prepared
lobster.
Service
was
another
area
of
concern.
The
waiter’s
haste
and
apparent
eagerness
to
expedite
our
ordering
process
detracted
from
the
dining
experience,
which
should
ideally
be
relaxed
and
savored.
Adding
to
the
peculiarity
of
our
visit
was
the
confusion
arising
from
two
competing
establishments
bearing
the
same
name,
situated
merely
meters
apart.
An
accidental
mix-up
in
our
reservation
led
to
persistent
and
rather
unsettling
phone
calls
from
one
of
the
establishments
until
the
early
hours
of
the
2am
in
the
morning,
an
experience
both
humorous
and
disconcerting.
In
summary,
while
Rugbyman
No
1
holds
promise
with
its
attractive
menu
and
ambiance,
the
overall
experience
fell
short
of
expectations,
marred
by
disproportionate
pricing
and
a
less
than
satisfactory
culinary
journey.
