terrible place. there's a reason why the restraint was completely empty. the oysters were disgusting- marinated in the sewage system. we could've gone to a pizza place across town, finish eating a three course menu, come back and still need to wait fifteen minutes for the food. the servers were nice but sadly it does not make up for the food. the mussels- big portion- but tasted like salty canal-water. do not go in here.

Not sure why most comments are negative....my husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. We ordered mussels with white wine, grilled seafood platter and lobster soup. The mussels and the seafood platter are both super delicious! Service is friendly, price is fair, we have no complaints. (We paid cash, but saw several customers paid by card without any problem.)

Had a very nice lunch here. Friendly, hospitable service. Cozy atmosphere with a nice fireplace. Delicious and fresh food. Great special. 15 euros for a choice of entrees. Mussels were so fresh and the portion was huge. Came with crisp French fries. A winner!!!

One star is even too much for the inadequacy of this place. Waiting time is preposterous even though there were literally 2 tables with customers (incl ours) in the whole restaurant). We waited for a soup for 40 minutes, and it looked like a microwaved one. The pinned de frites were inedible. There was super poor choice of beers - common we are in Belgium! The moules were ok. ADVICE: ask if they can accept cards, because they β€œsurprised” us that theirs is not working at the moment (facepalm).

Very average restaurant with standard menu, slow service, not very fresh interior outside and inside. Taste of the food was on normal level, but nothing more. Oysters was small and waterish. You can find better execution of the same dish list in many other restaurants

Service is painfully slow; oysters smelled like sewage water; filet was not cooked according to our order, sauce served with the meat had no taste (but was oily…); mussels also smelled like brackwater.

I would rate them 0 if I could. 4 of us decided to check this restaurant out because Chez Leon across the street (my usual restaurant) was full and we would have to wait long time for a table. When we entered the restaurant there were only 3 other people. We sat and looked at menu. We just wanted to start with the bucket of mussels to share and decide later what we want to eat as the main course. When we asked for 1 bucket of mussels, we were told we had to order 1 bucket per person. We stated that we just wanted to start with 1 bucket and decide what we want to eat for the main course later. They basically kicked us out of the restaurant, telling us it was not a snack bar. I’ve never been treated so badly at the restaurant ever. But things happen for the reason. We went across to Chez Leon where the line disappeared and we got the table right away. We had a wonderful dinner and I’m glad Chez Leon got our money instead of this poor customer service establishment.

Visited the old side of the city and was looking for a locals sort of place to eat. I was immediately impressed by the service, and continued with the meal. It was a great experience and cannot say nice enough things about this little place

That’s a great place. Have no idea why the rating is so low - maybe the concurrents :) the food is perfect, the stuff is friendly and open. Nice wine and the prices are really affordable.

I had a nice experience here. Do not be turned of by the person in front trying to get you in. This restaurant was recommended by a local whom I had met while in Brussels. I usually stop in to Chez LΓ©on because of convenience but their quality and flavor has gone down. Anyway, I had originally planned on getting the lunch which is smaller and cheaper but opted for the regular and I'm glad I made that choice. The pot was huge (maybe enough for 2) and the mussels were a good size too. Lots of flavor and worth the price. The frites weren't anything special but that's not why I was there anyway. Small beer selection but with Delirium around the corner that didn't bother me. This isn't fast food so plan on spending a little time here.

Loved this place and it’s courteous staffs with the nicest possible hospitality, the waiter suggested me the best mussels with garlic cream sauce and my wife could try scallops for the first time and she absolutely loved it. I’d recommend this place a must go next time Brussels

Wonderfully hospitable service. Delicious and fresh food. Reasonably priced considering portion size. Warm, comfortable atmosphere. Will bring more friends here on my next trip back. I had the paella. It was delicious πŸ˜‹

We arrived and they arranged a table for 8 persons straight away. The food came in a reasonable time. The food is not very tasty, but good enough for the price we paid at this extremely touristic area of Brussels. They refuse to serve tap water saying it's a kind of "agreement" of all the restaurants around. No bread served either.

Great food. I ordered moules au gratin. Excellent service by the husband and wife tandem. I love the ambience as the restaurant is situated in a very nice area of Brussels. Thank you very much

The Mussels and frites were excellent, the service was friendly, the house white wine was fine too. We don't understand the bad reviews. Cozy seating outside. We had planned to go to (highly praised) Leon's across the street, but it was all reserved and they didnt have outdoor seating. So we chose this place without reading about it before and i'm glad we did.

Refused to refill the water they charged €5 for with tap water because they 'need to reuse the bottle. Which also means they're selling chilled tap water Would rather watch you walk out disappointed than give up their precious bottle

Will do fairly for a necessary dinner when all else around is packed. Amiable service, okay mussels. Still, an affront to Belgian fries was placed on the table, with a squashed depleted squeeze bottle of Aldi mayo, which kind of summarises the situation.

Clearly only exists to steal away customers from LΓ©on, the much more popular place across the alley. Terrible food, steaks arrived cold and cooked to completely different levels despite asking for the same all around. Bathrooms half-functional at best. Worried about food poisoning...

Decided to try it despite the negative reviews. Not sure why it had negative reviews! In the touristy part of Brussels, I already expected that everything will be expensive. I thought the food and service was good. Their oysters were my favorite though!

Nice family restaurant with traditional dishes. Very good mules. Nice service. I don't know where these negative reviews come from. I was very pleased.

I wanted to go there on Friday with a friend for dinner. 8€ for one plastic bottle of Water are definitely too much. From outside the restaurant looked not bad, but inside was a run down furnishing, the waiters were bad dressed and all the time before their smartphone and the french fries had a taste of a freezer. I recomment to avoid this restaurant.

Rabbit was not cooked properly. Very tough (and very small portion). The dish could have been prepared better to have been tender in the Geuze sauce. The overall flavor was good, just poor execution in the main meat protein cooking. I'd seek out another restaurant.
