Beautifully appointed B&B with very welcoming hosts. The rooms are well equipped and with very a comfortable bed. Excellent cooked breakfast made exactly to order. A small family function was also held there and the service was very considerate and nothing was too much bother. Highly recommended to any would-be guest. Great to see this lovely old building - which we called “The Big House” as children - so well restored.

A beautiful hotel that is tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and makes guests welcome. Spacious comfortable rooms with quality bedding. Breakfast cooked to order and outstanding. Had full English and premium products used. Not greasy and well presented. Forgot to take phone hence no photos.

This hotel certainly lived up to the expectations we had formed from reading previous reviews and looking at the photographs on the webpage. Adele and Geof were the perfect hosts and made our stay both educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Educational in that Geof gave us a detailed account as to the buildings history, and enjoyable in that the rooms have been restored to the highest quality that matches the food and service. The hotel stands in its own extensive and tranquil grounds with views of the sea. We shall definitely be returning. Thank you A and G for a lovely stay. Margaret and John from Lincoln.

We stayed at the Whitehouse for my cousins engagement party and just want to say a big thank you to Adele for looking after me and the family. We had a brilliant time and we would highly recommend a stay at the Whitehouse. The owners could do enough for us, we just want to say a massive thank you !!!

We had our engagement party here and booked most of the rooms for guests. Everything was amazing. The place itself is hidden gem. All the rooms were spotless and well equipped. Very comfy beds, the breakfast was lovely. The party itself was the best night we’d had in years. We had around 110 people at the party and everyone loved it. Adele and Geoff (the owners) were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The bar staff were amazing and drinks are very reasonably priced. We’d highly recommend The White House for any overnight stay or event.

Gorgeous sea view. Spotless rooms& communal areas. Baby changing facilitates in ladies toilet & iron/board in bed storage- nice touch. My family took over The White House for 2 nights for my cousin's wedding on the premises in the garden. Beautiful and quiet. Adele & Geoff are amazing hosts... son had a stain on his shirt& Adele sorted it out for me. Very welcoming, hardworking and a lovely bar with great staff. Will stay here again when back over to Peterlee, highly recommended. Thankyou

Stayed here with my wife and 2 friends and we all came away saying the same thing. The best accommodation we've ever experienced. The place was everything we wanted, welcoming, clean and friendly. The hosts could not have done anymore for us all. We came away feeling like family. I can't believe anyone has only given the hotel a 2 star rating. I'm just thankful I didn't get to meet that person, they really need to get out more. Thank you, Geoff, Alan and Jess. We'll definitely be back.

Came up for a couple of nights as a family. Location was perfect for us, just 10 minutes from our relatives. The room was immaculate and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us. Breakfast was fantastic, all cooked to order, more was available if we'd wanted. No hassle over making exactly what our daughter wanted to eat (she's fussy). Really easy to chat to and made to feel very welcome. We'd definitely stay again when we come back up. Thanks all.

We used the Whitehouse for the reception after my sons funeral. Everything the staff could do, they did, the food was good, the layout was good, the location was good. I was grateful for their kindness.
