Lovely wander , we chose the river walk, which our new dog "molly" loved. Other walks take you into woodland.. Our walk started in the ample Carpark and was well sign posted.. Seating benches are plentiful, cut outs along the river bank are ideal for our young pup to get to the water for a splash about.. People swimming by the bottom bridge was a surprise, but also shows the water is clean.. Footpaths are well kept and clear, prams,, scooters, bikes, mobility scooter friendly. Areas off the footpaths have been left uncut on purpose to attract birds and wildlife.. By the main entrance is a cafe, picnic tables, gift shop, toilets and play area.. Parking is just Β£1 all day, if Carpark full, More parking is available on the entrance road.. Disabled parking is by the shop.. Dog walkers, joggers, ramblers and cyclists will enjoy it here. Plenty of room to roam and enjoy a day out.. Would come back to room more of the woodlands....

Dog friendly family orientated park. Disabled bays are next to the cafe, there is also 2 bays that are for electric plug in. The parking ticket machine is also near the cafe, blue badge holders parked in a designated bay are free to park. There are different colour coded walks for calorie burning and I assume difficulty levels. There is also wheelchair and pushchair friendly routes. Cyclists are welcome as well. There are 2 playground areas for children. If you fancy a walk through the trees there's plenty off the path routes, in the warmer months there are den building areas as well. I took my autistic 17 yr old who doesnt like being around lots of people and my mum who has a walking stick and bad knees, it was about 11.30 am on a Saturday when we arrived, parked easily in a disabled bay then set off on the green walk, there was one slightly steeper point but with help from my son his grandma managed it ok, the rest of the walk was flat and had plenty of benches to stop and have a break. Lovely to sit and bird watch in peace and quiet, occasionally there were dog walkers or wheelchair users going by with a friendly "hello" but otherwise it was tranquil. As we were getting to the end of our walk we had to pass the play areas where kids were running off steam and parents were either chilling or chasing their little one ;^D we got 3 coffees to go at the busy cafe and it reasonably cost Β£4. The only niggle with the park is that there needs to be recycle bins available, there wasn't any waste bins that I saw apart from one outside the cafe but there were 3 poop bins for good dog owners that we passed which was good to see.

Lovely place for a walk with the whole family. Good paths for all walking abilities and prams. Great place for young children as there is bike rental available and a play area. The visitor centre is great for a coffee or a bite to eat. Parking at different sides, by the visitor centre is paid, by the cricket club is free and not sure about the llay side (last time I went was free). There is a huge play area on the Llay side.

Very small but they have extremely well to make the visit engaging for young ones. I struggled to get my daughter away. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

For a country park I look at dog walking - nothing else. There is a big expanse of open ground on your rhs as you drive in. But it doesn't get mown, but is ok for a run. Car park is cheap enough, free for disabled provided a badge is displayed. Circular walk, but look out for cyclists, most do not have a bell and approach without any warning. River runs through park for dogs and children that like it. There are plenty of paths off the main Circular route through the woods. A couple of hours here will take two circuits. Can be muddy and slippery in parts. Dog friendly cafe on site.

Great find after visiting a local garage, good toddler play ground and also a secondary larger one for older kids. Multiple walks and bike paths with interesting sculptures and monuments around to find. Bike rental and all ability bikes available. Good dog friendly cafe on site with nice cakes, food and dog ice cream. And all for Β£1 a day parking.

My wife and I have visited here a few times with our dog. My wife is disabled & uses a wheelchair or mobility scooter whenever we go out so coming here is ideal for her to enjoy a lovely country walk with the dog as the route is disabled friendly. The cafe is accessible & there is a disabled toilet. There are only about 6 disabled spaces so I recommend getting here early to avoid waiting. I also recommend the soft scoop ice cream cones. There is also doggy ice cream available.

Nice country park, small river running through it. Cafe closes 4pm and gates are locked for car park at 4.45pm so get there reasonable. Toilets shut same time as cafe so ignore any 24 hour opening notices online.

A very pleasant place to come and have a stroll. Nice and clean with very little rubbish around, lots of bins for dog waste and general rubbish. The paths are all well maintained meaning most people would be able to enjoy the park. It was quiet on the day we visited making it all the more enjoyable. Some people seem to be a little disgruntled at the one pound parking fee but personally I don't mind if the money goes to help maintain the area. There is a nice little play park for the kids and the cafe is quite nice.It was nice to see that they employ individuals with disabilities. In all a very nice way to spend a few hours in the great outdoors.

Lovely walk around here today, very cool a lovely crisp autumn day walk. Cafe open purchased a takeaway hot chocolate and a slice of coffee and walnut cake, A beautiful place to stretch your legs and if needed some quiet spots can be found to clear your head and relax or let it all go. Good bike trails now I see for the adventurous lots of off lead dogs around today. Thankfully dogs don't worry me.x but a few people weren't so happy quite a few families out today enjoying the park and play area xx

Lovely open fields with heather and wild flowers, rich woodland, walking and bike trials, picnic facilities and ice-cream available. Various little sculptures and trail activities spotted around and along paths. Believe there is water somewhere here also, though we had a short visit and only covered a small area. Kids park and possible bike hire also πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Parking shuts at 4:30pm so I arrive plenty early to allow time for exploring!

Beautiful walks and lovely scenery and nice cafe, with amazing staff. The dogs loved swimming in the water as it was a hot day. Just one person who thought our dogs shouldn't of been there because they were too excitable and his weren't, obviously thought he owned it. Always one spoil sport 😑 But other than that it's a gorgeous country park to visit, we will definitely be going again minus the moron moaning at our dogs!.

Lovely day out had a picnic, sat on one of the picnic benches plenty around, plus a play on the brilliant park where there was lots to entertain Llay side. Walked to Gwersyllt side for toilets as non on Llay side... beware very long walk with steep places didn't realise it was so far otherwise we would have driven round. Good job we had Google maps in walking mode so we could tell that we were heading in the right direction!!! Llay side is open all the time but the Gwersyllt side gates are locked at 4.45pm. we all had a refreshing lolly ice from the lovely cafe, staff were lovely in there very friendly bought a bar of chocolate for on the walk back... needed for energy!! Would definitely recommend.

Alan waters is an amazing park. You can go on short walks or long walks for hours. The walk along the river was lovely. There are lots of paths (some muddy) and some tarmacked, mud free. You can get close to nature and the feeling you're miles from the nearest town.

Car park excellent and only Β£1 for all day ticket. Machine accepts contactless card payment. Free toilets. Signs saying closes at 4:45pm but I don't think that's correct. Cafe looks nice. EV charger not working, don't understand why they need one here.

Had a nice walk around the paths, down by the river was nice, a lovely smell of wild garlic, would definitely recommend going in the week when it's quiet. Had a well deserved cold drink from the shop after the walk, very enjoyable.

Great outdoor space for families to visit. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around or have a little paddle. The area is free from litter and great for prams and pushchairs. The onsite cafe has a good menu at a reasonable price.

Beautiful country park. I take my dog for walks there very often and he loves running through the woods, open fields and of course playing in the river. He meets many other dogs on his walks and we have never ever met a nasty or out of control dog there. All owners are responsible and pick up after their dogs, you’ll always get that person who is an exception but I’ve found the country park to be clean and well cared for. Great cafe with really friendly and obliging staff and clean toilet facilities too. Can’t knock the place, I love it there, so does my dog!

A modest little museum detailing Wrexham's earliest beginnings to it's importance in medieval times being on the borderlands with information on the former ancient Holt castle (long lost to time) right through to Wrexham's more famed industrial past. I especially liked the cinema corner where it showcased 3 different films on Wrexham's history from the proud mining heritage in the nearby former coal district, the football club and the Racecourse's important place in Welsh football and lastly a film looking at the history behind Wrexham's famous larger which has been brought back into production in more recent years. The museum is all on one floor so it won't take too long to explore, there is also an exhibition area which at the moment is centered on Welsh football. Most of the displays seem child friendly for young curious minds and a few are interactive. There is also a cafe opposite the entrance and front desk but I didn't use it. Well worth a look in if in town and have a little time to spare. Proud to be a son of Wrexham 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
