Had a consultation plus had to pay extra straight away because the doctor had to use a camera no problem but thought that would of been part of the consultation? Then I called to give the go ahead for my operation £4-£6kthey said they'd call me with a date within days a week passed so I called to find out a date as I'm desperate I was passed onto 4 different people yet to be told they couldn't tell me a date but will call me the same afternoon?? 2 weeks have gone still no call !! Sticking with the Nhs I think. At least there straight with their clients.

Absolutely shocked with this place , O to none communications except when some abrupt receptionist rings you demanding payment, arrived at the hospital early after gets phone call asking if I could get there with 40 mins notice! They to be stuck in a room for hours not seeing anyone, after care was none existent will definitely NOT be using again , HONESTLY the fact the charge you extortionate price and treat you like a second class citizen and get away is beyond me

Had an operation here in September 21. Staff all very kind and considerate although place was a bit chaotic on arrival and I had to wait some time to be admitted. Unfortunately thats as good as it gets. A few hours after my operation I was discharged and escorted to the car park without any advice/guidance and 4 months on there has been no contact from the hospital regarding my recovery, aftercare is non existent. As I am still in discomfort contact with the hospital a doctor informed me I should be seen by the surgeon Mr Wilson 6-8 weeks after my operation. He advised me he would leave a reminder for the surgeon. Unfortunately 6 months on there has still been no response. Not a hospital/surgeon I would recommend.

i have just had an opperation at this hospital although i was a bit stressed as one would be going for an opperation and hearing all the concerns from people who had had this opperation else where , I have to say i was treated brilliantly, Mr sathyamoorthy the surgeon whom completed my opperation did so fantastically i have not had any pain and in only a few days have more use of my arm than i did before the opperation. The Anaesthetist Mr Patil was absolutely spot on the treatment was perfect the result perfect i am due in for the other shoulder done as well and am looking forward to it. The nurses and shift doctors care was really good all lovely people couldnt do enough, and although i felt good to leave the same day as the opperation i was convinced to stay in over night and enjoy the service offered so i stayed in and im pleased i did i was treated like a king. To all the hospital staff that helped me through this thank you and especially to Mr sathyamoorthy and Mr Patil.

Wife attended there to confirm a diagnosis of plantar fasciitis. After paying nearly a £1000 in 2 consultations an MRI and an ultra sound they wanted to charge my wife approx £350 for a guided ultrasound cortisone injection. We had however had an ultra sound before this and the consultant took £150 off the bill then because he wouldn't do the injection until she had an MRI and then after the MRI we were told it was still £350 even though clearly a guided injection is £150 as that is what they took off the last bill. Over inflated prices which dont make a lot of sense. We wouldn't recommend them as only seem to be interested in making as much money as possible. Oh and they also have no regard for data protection laws.

Had hip replacement in October that was fine , aftercare not so good , asked 4 times for help to the bathroom to shower no one came so didn’t shower ! Asked for help getting trousers on as couldn’t bend no one came so struggled with pants to go home in , wasn’t given any equipment to go home with just a shoe horn ! No toilet raisers , no grabbers , nothing ! No sharpie box for used needles , needle boxes opened so wasn’t sure to use them or not , not information about medication to take , all in all very poor wouldn’t use again my pre op they never told me to go back to have a covid jab and to isolate for 3 days ! If my daughter hadn’t had told me about isolation I would have turned up for op and would have been refused , when I rang to ask them about this they said course you have to have it so why didn’t they tell me !

My friend had his hooded eyes done with a professor Farmy hope I have spelt that right! He was treated with respect and care from the moment he walked in. The staff are second to none. His dietary needs and surgical care was exceptional. I am the worlds worst coward, however, I am now seriously considering having surgery at this hospital this is because its managed by professionals that actually know what they are doing from the cleaners to the amazing doctors and experienced nurses who understand what nursing care is needed and its given in a timely fashion. I must also mention that all consulting fees were very reasonable and my friend is over the moon as he can see clearly and has a new found confidence.

My mother was not told that she could have accommodation the night before her very early operation the following morning. Was told that it was not the hospital’s duty to inform patients of what services were available! Furthermore when trying to explain the difficulty of getting a very aged person to hospital was told, “I don’t want to know your story “! Abysmal service. I’m going to advise my mother to go elsewhere.

I have recently been a patient at the Spire Wrexham Hospital, having open surgery to my right knee art Patella Femoral joint replacement . I stayed with the hospital for 3’days. The service was fantastic, under the carful hands of Dr T Smith and his am amazing team. Then on the ward with the fantastic Lynn Thelwell and the fantastic team, all the nurse staff, the catering team. And the Phyiso thearapists All could not do enough to help me when I was at my most vulnerable Position. The support and 24hour care was second to none. I cannot thank you enough. I am now home and on the slow road to recovery! This is the second operation I have had in the last 20 months at the spire I simply would not wish to go anywhere else for help! Thank you so very much. Kind regards Mally Rice

I had an MRI here two weeks ago. There are signs all over the place saying results in 1-5 days. Anyway I’m waiting to hear from my doctor and after two weeks I decide to call Spire and check that they have sent the report. Firstly they are very dismissive of me and say all reports are sent within the timescale indicted by post. So I say as I have taken the time to ring please can you physically check for me. So the lady comes back and says oh no it hasn’t been sent as it was referred to a doctor who is on annual leave for 3 weeks. So I say to her you were quite happy for me to go off to my insurer chasing it up with them when it is clearly Spires delay. She doesn’t apologize. So I’m like thinking who allocates work to a doctor on a 3 week holiday???? When everywhere it says 5 days turnaround. So like I’m in shock at the incompetence and also that the lady I’m speaking to isn’t aware one of her doctors is on a 3 week vacation and the scan could of been referred to him, I’m not sure how many doctors she has in her team, but to dismiss without checking just makes it more laughable. Avoid spire at wrexham I have used them before when my daughter was seriously ill 10 years ago and they were shocking then. I hoped after 10 years they may have improved but absolutely not.

Left very disappointed after breast surgery . I was made to feel my concerns didn't matter . After paying for my surgery I think I should know if I am happy with the result. Not to be told there is nothing wrong and they are happy with result very unhappy

Had hip replacement surgery here, self funded. No complaints at all.The Consultant Mr.I Malik was professional, as were the X ray, reception and all nurses, physio, general staff. Room was clean, equipment up to date, food excellent, my needs were attended to promptly, the staff were smiling & friendly and upon discharge 2 days after my Op, I was given my meds, confirmed in writing and their functions detailed. Physio straight forward & home schedule explained, given crutches& helping hand. Return visits prebooked, everything outlined. My review is unbiased, a few weeks of aftercare to come, but it's like others have reviewed a completely different place !

My mother has received an ankle fusion by Mr Sayed and more recently 2 cataract surgeries by Mr Sahni at Spire and I am beyond amazed by each and every person whom we have had the pleasure to meet along the way. The consultants have clinically treated my mother with exceptional service including aftercare. The nurse and HCSW staff have all been fantastic and are a credit to the Nursing profession of which I have 22 years experience. A mention also to the wonderful reception staff whom are overlooked in their role because they have also treated my mother with respect and dignity at EVERY appointment. People say that you get what you pay for but I believe the staff would treat any patient in the same manner whether they were NHS or private patients. Thank you so much for taking the very best care of my very precious mother who also put over 30 years of her dedication into the nursing profession, you ALL truly deserve recognition for the outstanding care that you give 😊

I had an OPD consultation with Dr Agrawal, Neurologist, at the Spire Yale Hospital in Wrexham. I was very impressed indeed with the time he allocated, the thorough way in which he recorded my details and summarised the history of my condition and his clear explanation of how he saw the way forward. He has a lovely manner and imbues confidence. I have epilepsy and would highly recommend anyone with the same condition, who is looking for a consultation with a Specialist, to contact Dr Agrawal.

Absolutely shocking service service received, I had a appointment with one of the consultants who started the conversation off with my secretary has been trying to ring you to move the appointment forward (I had received no calls) and was clearly annoyed he had to wait to honour the appointment time. The consultant had absolutely no sympathy for my symptoms whatsoever rushed through the appointment and as I was heading to my car I could see him running to his. I needed follow up treatment to sort the condition out and was told all of there treatment rooms were under going refurbishment and would need to use the main theatre I asked how long this would be on multiple occasions to be told we can’t get hold of the consultant I then asked for his secretary’s details and contacted her directly asking for help About 5 days after this I was phoned by the booking team to book me in. 2 days before my surgery was due to commence I was called saying my appointment had been cancelled I asked why and was told and I quote I am just the middle man passing on the message I asked for when the appointment would be rearranged for and was told they do not know I have payed for both the consultation and the surgery privately out of my own pocket and I am still waiting for a new appointment time for the surgery My initial consultation was more than 5 weeks ago I would strongly recommend not using this hospital there are far far better ones out there with much better service for frankly cheaper prices I will not name name or mention the prices I have paid But again I would strongly recommend avoiding this particular hospital if you have the choice I will be asking for my money back shortly if I do not hear a response following this post And to be clear I understand that problems do arise I have never posted a comment speaking badly of a company before But if someone reads this and avoids the problems I have had and goes with a better hospital Then at least it happened for a reason AVOID AVOID AVOID

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who supported me through my recent surgery. From start to finish it has been a professional, friendly and supportive experience. I have had communication on a regular basis and love the my spire account which lets me access all of the information about appointments etc. Although the unit in Wrexham is undergoing refurbishment and extension work, it didn't affect any aspect of my treatment.

Had a recent procedure carried out at the Spire Yale. I couldn't fault anything from the consultations, phone calls. Reception and the nurses. Everything was explained and the theatre staff amazing. Post op care was just right, not to invasive or disturbing Food and room care second to none Everyone made what was to me a traumatic experience very bearable and comfortable. My post op care and physiotherapy follows the same high standards Thank you all
