Started here in March 2018 with a view to signing my up my 4 year old son to help improve his confidence. I could not have imagined the warm welcome that awaited us (from both the instructors and fellow students alike). In no time at all myself, son and grandad all signed up for the Blackbelt Leadership course and we have not looked back! I cannot recommend this school enough for the expertise, knowledge, training techniques and the friendliness from everybody involved.

Myself and my 3 sons have been training at the FMAC in Leyland since November 2017. We are currently on the black belt leadership course. Master Salter and his senior instructors are highly experienced professionals. They teach with such passion and enthusiasm. Not only are my sons learning martial arts, they are also learning valuable life skills. The facilities are excellent and everyone makes you feel so welcome. I can’t recommend the club highly enough.

Excellent Centre, after searching for some time for the right environment for my grandson Theo aged 5 to learn life skills, be more confident and focused, and learn self defence, the Family Martial Arts Centre in Leyland was recommended to me. I researched and checked all the amazing reviews. I can say hand on heart that Theo loves learning the skills and thoroughly enjoys the sessions with Master Salter whom he feels gives him so much confidence and encouragement; he enjoys working with the other instructors, he likes the consistency as well as the kindness, support and care provided by everyone at the Centre. What I have observed particularly at all of the sessions is the respect displayed by all students of whatever age and level towards each other, the Instructors and the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do. Theo is now on his Green Belt and is very much looking forward to working his way through to Black Belt. Cant recommend enough!

My son has been attending this class since February. I have to say he thoroughly enjoys it, also his confidence grows the longer he participates. He is keen to progress and develop into a black belt one day!

"A big family of people of all ages who do the Martial Art Tang Soo Do". I joined FMAC in August 2023 after looking at other schools in the area, this one stood out and ticked all the boxes so I went for the free taster session, I was not disappointed!. You WILL NOT find nicer people, the instructors, other students, everyone is welcoming and supportive and the facilities are perfect. The Dojang (training hall) is spacious and clean, equipment for everyone to train, even with busy classes, toilet and changing areas spotless. This school has various classes from age 3 upwards (tiger tots), beginner classes (positive start) age 5 upwards, and then the Blackbelt leadership course. Flexible mixed Classes 5 times a week so you can pick which ones fit your schedule. I have learnt so much is such little time so if your looking at investing in yourself, your health, mentally and physically supported by fully trained Instructors, FMAC is 1000% highly recommended 👍🏻

My son and I joined Family Martial Arts earlier this year and we look forward to every training session. The teaching style really does bring out the best of everybody, irrespective of ability. If you are looking for professionally run classes which focus not only on training but also life skills I would recommend you try Family Martial Arts.

After thoroughly researching for a good martial arts school for our son in 2018 this has been the best one. It is a friendly Family run business. My son began his journey here in 2018 when he was 4years old we haven’t looked back, My son’s confidence has improved immensely, he thoroughly enjoys attending and has made new friends. My son is now leading up to Blackbelt Leadership course. The centre is well looked after, the staff are also very friendly.

Both of my sons started at the FMAC earlier this year. They both love the classes and learning about key life skills. My youngest son is only 5 so we thought he would struggle but all the classes are mixed ages and everyone is so welcoming and helpful. In such a short space of time they have both grown in confidence and with the expertise and knowledge of Master Salter they are learning the skills they need to keep progressing.

I have been attending classes for the last 6 months with my teenage son, and it’s been great to bond with him and we both enjoy and look forward to each session. Robert and the team are very friendly and supportive, as are the other members. It’s a great way to stay fit both physically and mentally, whilst learning new skills and building confidence. I’d highly recommend, whatever the age of you and your family !

Fantastic place to learn a martial art! Excellent instructor with bags of knowledge, not just in the art but in life skills too. The art being taught is better than any other I have tried and is great for fitness and mental health, not to mention fantastic for children. We can all learn so much more than just a martial art at the centre.

My son has been going for lessons here since last June - he absolutely loves it and has learnt so much! It's a family run business which is super professional, friendly, with amazing staff who go the extra mile and really care about their clients. Highly recommended 👍😁

We have been going to Master Salters dojang for almost a year now and it is by far the best martial arts we have had the pleasure to be part of, we go as a family, two adults, and two children. Everyone is so kind and helpful, both Mrs. Wells and Master Salter are excellent with us all including the kids, if we struggle they come over and assist us, the teachings are easy to understand, and we find them very patient, knowledgeable, experienced, and well mannered. The other training martial artists will also assist and help if they notice lower-ranking martial artists struggling which we think is great, it's like a community, and the other trainers are great with the kids too. We have found that it has increased all of our confidence levels, it's a great source of exercise. It is a very happy place to be and we look forward to our training sessions every week. I like the way self defence and life skills is a preferred method of teaching here over aggression. Leylands Tang soo do Family Martial Arts Centre is highly recommended. Thank you so much, from the James Family.

This is a friendly family run Karate centre that gives the kids confidence and life skills that they will use all throughout their adult lives. I have myself been coming here with family for 10 months and have made friends, got fit and I have also just started the black belt leadership course. Rob and his family are amazing teachers and the family classes are fun learning for everyone involved.

A true gem! Not only great for improving fitness, coordination, and confidence, but the philosophy incorporated into the training is also exceptional. We attend as a family (2 adults and 2 kids - 6 and 9yo). This is not a fighting school; the emphasis is on personal development. All concepts are presented in age-appropriate ways, and the instructors help all students aspire to do their best, mentally and physically, in all aspects of their lives. I can't recommend it highly enough.

A fantastic place to meet learn a new skill, meet people and improve your fitness whilst having fun! My son has been attending virtual and live classes since 2020 and his confidence, fitness, coordination has grown, but he has matured so much! Its not just for kids, as lots of parents/adults attend the classes as well (including my partner!) Mr Salter is a calm and patient Sensei, whose great with the kids, but always encourages you to take that next step and strive for more! Its a friendly and welcoming place for all the family.

We have been attending family martial arts centre Leyland for over a year. Me, my husband and our 2 children, 11 and 12. It is a fantastic way to do something as a family; increased confidence, better fitness and a real sense of achievement all in a safe and fun environment. The school is run by Master Salter who teaches in a way that is informative and accessible to all, young and old. I would recommend the centre to anybody looking for a challenge, the range of ages that can be seen at the classes goes to prove that your never too young or too old.

At first when I started going to the family martial arts centre in Leyland I thought that at 66 I was too old to start on a journey such as this, how wrong could I have been. The instructor, Master Salter, is excellent and has endless patience with all students whatever their age or experience. Training within the centre teaches discipline, improves your fitness and confidence, teaches respect for others and the techniques to defend yourself should the need ever arise. The other students are very friendly and the more experienced ones guide you whenever they can. This is an excellent family orientated club that I highly recommend. Give it a go, it is a win/win situation.

I can fully recommend Family Martial Art Centre Leyland, I have enrolled my 6 year old son as he asked to try martial arts, after only 2 months he moved up to the black belt leadership course. My son has always struggled a little with his confidence but since joining the Martial Arts centre he is a much more confident little boy. He is always really excited and looking forward to his next lesson and needless to say the exercise he endures during the training is a great positive aspect to any child.

I joined the club in January 2018 after signing up to the positive start programme, following a free trial. 5 months later, I quit the local gym and signed up for the Blackbelt Leadership course. Since joining i have lost weight (over 1 stone) and gained a great deal more confidence and flexibility. The centre is very welcoming, safe and friendly. The instructors are thorough and patient in their training and really allow you to develop in your own time. There is also a great emphasis on the mental aspect of martial arts and not just the physical. I would highly recommend the club to anybody and especially those with young children as the life skills, not just the martial arts skills taught will ensure you/your child develop the mental attitude to get through anything life may throw at you.

A excellent training environment with fantastic facilities! The staff at Family Martial Arts have been nothing but welcoming to me and my 4 year old since joining. I have found the instructors extremely knowledgable and supportive from the outset.
