Before all the doctors left this was an amazing surgery with great staff. Appointments were always on time, available, great diagnosis and support having children this was invaluable to me. Following their recent changes the receptionist I spoke to was rude and refused an appointment for my son I had no other option and called back to a nice receptionist who was happy to help. Tried to arrange an appointment in advance apparently no appointments available next week as they are all locum doctors and like half term off work. Simply not good enough only option I have it to call first thing next week spending half an hr trying to get through not ideal when your busy and on your way to work grrrrrrr receptionist was polite but sadly there was nothing she could do 😡

In absolute agony with slipped disc in my back. After calling asking for an appointment today I was told I'll get a call back. Later in the day I received TEXT for a telephone appointment for in 8 DAYS time! I called them back and explained AGAIN that I'm in agony, and how I collapsed this morning dropping my little girl who has autism age 3. They told me they can't do anything and to go A&E, I explained I have no family or child minder so there's no way I can take my autistic toddler there, as she will not tolerate the 12 hour wait!!!!!! I once again asked for the magical nurse practitioner to atleast call me rather than a text! She hasnt even spoke to me or asked wat my symptoms are! I've begged for pain killers to see me through the next 8 days til my telephone appointment, which they said they couldn't! Wat an absolute disgrace of a doctors surgery! They dont deserve the 1 star! The place needs sorting out once and for all, this is not acceptable. Shockingly poor service! This is our health people, we shouldn't be treated so poorly!

One star only because I can't give 0. My issue isn't with the Dr (I've only seen one and he seemed quite good). My issue is with trying to get to see a Dr in the first place. Trying to get an appointment or speak to anyone remotely helpful is a joke.... I went to see the pharmacist who told me I need to see a GP. Walked next door to ask for an appointment and was told I couldn't have one, would have to telephone in the morning for a triage appointment. Your own pharmacist has said I need to see a GP. It's not the first time I've had issues trying to book appointments. The level of care offered by this practice is appalling. It is not difficult to have an appointment booking service. Instead I have to wait for a phone call (if I get that far) that can come anytime I'm at work. Where I used to live, they at least used to give you a 2 hour window if they were doing phone appointments. And no, receptionists should not be asking for medical information. They are not qualified to judge it and it is supposed to be confidential. Everyone in the waiting room can hear what is being said. Will be putting an official complaint in.

Update!! More detail required I feel. My previous review (of as close to minus 100 stars {which is one star} that is possible) was based upon my negative experiences over the years with one doctor from this practice in particular: Dr R G Willis. I find him to be negligent at best, worse than useless, uncaring, unintelligent, a danger to the well being of his patients at worst. I can back all of this up with a detailed case study from my time under his 'care', which include writing off crippling sickness as 'getting older', and talking another person out of taking antibiotics for a severe chest infection which later turned to pleurisy and pneumonia!! I would have now raised the ranking after luckily having the chance to see an alternative locum doctor (Dr. Walker) who actually listened to my list of symptoms, had the intelligence to comprehend the details, and agreed with my request for basic screening tests to ascertain and/or rule out some simple root causes (Namely of pathogenic infection in the liver). I asked Dr. Willis for these years ago, to be basically shooed away as some silly person who's genuine health concerns were merely 'aging' is not only insulting, disrespectful and neglectful, but is also dangerous. Unfortunately for me, and all of those forced to seek help from this practice, Dr. Walker has left. The one shining light of competence, genuine care, and above all, actions. I wish I knew where she had gone to so that I could stay under her protective healing care. As it is, I had the misfortune to be seen by another over paid, pea brained, illogical, mass harm causer on my last trip, who chose to misrepresent my latest scan results, and offer zero help other than telling me to 'lose weight' (My bodyfat percentage is only 13% and I follow a healthy diet). How the hell do these people find themselves in such well paid positions I wonder? My tip, for anyone attending this practice, is to ask the receptionist when making any appointment, to see anyone except Dr. Willis (if you value your health) and/or Dr. Edwards. How the hell he gets paid so much to sit and stare into his computer screen whilst stretching and scratching his head whilst making no notes, and offering no help is beyond me. I have heard the same feedback from multiple sources too. If you find it hard to believe then please...go see him and watch for the lack of eye contact, the slouched posture, the staring into the screen, the constorted body shape when he shows irritation at being bothered by someone who presents with illness, the patronising nonsense he spews out of his dull brain etc etc. Therapeutic relationship anyone? Not to be found here. With all of this being said, this is why I wrote: "Since Bates et al left this is just a processing line to fill you full of toxic pharmaceuticals. If they don't have a pill for it then they don't want to know. Troubled humans need healers, not drug dealers" as my original review. Dr. Paliwal has thankfully restored some of my lost faith in this practice and doctors in general. I have now booked to see a third doctor there so as to ascertain a broader picture of the level of care that the practice as a whole offers, as opposed to my traumatic experiences under the substandard (no) 'care' of Dr. R G Willis.

Seeing a doctor is private and confidential needed doctor for my son which the doc at my own appointment told me to do that was not good enough would not let me have appointment until I told them what the problem is since when are receptionists qualified to say when u can see a doctor absolutely disgusted having to say something private to someone that's paid to answer phones and book appointments a complaint is going in

I would like to show my support for the NHS during the covid pandemic. However, most people have had the injection and people are back at work but the question is WHY CANT I SEE A DOCTOR? It's my belief that the government are trying to run the NHS into the ground and thin pen y maes are doing a good job in giving poor service. When I have had the opportunity to visit the surgery and see many staff behind the counter so why is it so difficult to have someone answer the phone. ?

Terrible surgery since the doctors have left. Virtually impossible to get an appointment and the receptionists speak to you like dirt. I couldn't get an appointment so was told a nurse would call me back at sometime that day, i advised the receptionist I may go to A and E as I was very concerned about my symptoms and how bad they had rapidly gotten, I was told I did not need to go to A and E with my symptoms and did not need to be concerned. I have no idea how the receptionist knew this as she did not know what my symptoms were as she had not asked!!

The only reason I am giving 1 star is because zero stars is not a option. The surgery is a complete joke since the changes, I have attempted to move surgeries but unfortunately no where else can take me on for their own reasons. I have been trying everyday for 2 weeks to gain an appointment to either be told no appointments available for the day or next week or, no response whatsoever. The phone today just rang out it wasn't even engaged!!!!! I am saying its not an emergency but if I don't see a doctor it may turn out to be then il be stuck. Its making me so angry and upset! we all pay our NI we should be able to see a gp when we are ill. This really needs sorting complaint going into the health board today. I understand the practise needed time to adjust to the changes but they've had long enough in my eyes

Absolutely shocking. Whatever you do don't be ill or worse disabled and expect help from this practice. Receptionists are rude and obstructive and tell lies. They look through you and openly admitted talking about the patient in front of the family. Their complaints service is offline as is e consult and appointments are impossible to get. Only one person in the building seems to have any compassion. As a health professional I'm horrified.

It's a shame that they still practise racism and discrimination at this surgery, every time I ring to book an appointment the receptionist pretends like she doesn't understand what am saying yet I speak good English but with an African accent, I have a swelling in my anus that is painful and it's causing discomfort ,and she denied me an opportunity to see the GP to seek medical help, she told me to go and buy painkillers over the counter , she's so rude and not compassionate at all, she said that if the painkillers don't work I should then go to A&E , she's not professional at all, the only option is for us to go private or have these acute illnesses progress into chronic illnesses. What a shame

Used to be brilliant, now dreadful. No continuity of care as you never know who you are going to see, and its never the same doctor twice. Almost impossible to get through, and when you do, not a chance of booking a routine appointment in advance. Some receptionists are really rude (though not all) and I think this is largely because they are bearing the brunt of patients very understandable frustration and anger about the hugely fallen standards in the practice. Been trying to return a call for days now, not yet got through and suspect that the end result will be that a prescription won't be filled because they will claim that I didn't call back The only reason that I've given one star is because there isn't the option to post with none!

This is why A&E is getting so overloaded! Myself and many others by the sound of it call and call to get no answer?! At maximum I had to call twice before it was taken over. I think you need to understand people are calling with genuine concerns for their health. Even if there was an automated response that said to wait until we can be out through, would be far less infuriating and upsetting than just being told "user busy". If it is busy, bravo to the caller who managed to get through! I've been trying for far too long now! It's a joke.

Shocking service by the reception staff. Yes I know they are to filter the appointments and allocate to the most in need, but when the practice manager makes that decision about sick children without even being bothered to speak to the person on the phone and come to a conclusion that they will have to wait for an appointment when they are available that day it’s a joke! Practice manager thinks she’s a doctor and does not have the qualifications to deal with the issues which is why we requested a GP appointment. Gone down hill since the resident doctors left, the staff need to remember they are in customer service and need to change their attitude ! Shame of it is looks like it’s the same everywhere else too 🤦‍♂️

This place has been awful since the health board took it over.Too many locums who seem totally disinterested. Can't get through on the telephone(various times of the day).Staff changing all the time in the adjoining chemist, prescriptions not there when they should be or scripts not put through.I could go on.....

Not worth the one star in my opinion. Every single time I’ve called to make an appointment, I’ve waited on hold for at least 25 minutes. And then I’m told to call back after half 1 because every single morning appointment has gone. Doc finally called me back and set up a prescription which turns out never actually got created so now I have to ring up again and request another. No communication, I’ve been waiting ages. Absolutely not okay.

hope this place gets shut down or something. had items missing from my prescription. had to be off my medication due to the wait and now had to phone up and when i explained with the receptionist what has happened she started blaming me for not calling earlier like the fact that the medication being missing was my fault. if you can choose your GP don't go with this one avoid it like the plague.

I had a baby 4 weeks ago via c-section and I had an infection. I tried calling over 50 times over the course of 2 days to get seen and get antibiotics. No one answered the phone so ended up going to the maternity ward to get help instead. I’ve only just registered to this GP and I really wish I was still in the area of my previous GP as I never had an issue there

Bad practice. Having to wait 2 or more weeks to see a GP, is diabolical. Why can't this practice offer walk in appointments? Then you have to justify why you need appointment by receptionist, not medically trained.

November 2021 had terrible chest and throat infection. Surgery didn't care, told me it would clear up in few days despite the fact i was in agony, couldnt eat and throat was closing up. After over a week they agreed to give me antibiotics then didn't send the prescription off. Had to go to A&E for something they could have prevented. September 2022 minor injuries hospital in mold told me to make GP appointment for shoulder injury, triage nurse refused to let receptionist make appointment and told me to go back to minor injuries. This place should be shut down.

If I could give no stars I would, doctor had no idea what mental health was and totally invalidated my suffering and gave the classic ‘exercise and healthy eating’ speech when I just needed help for my sleeping issues. Didn’t listen to me at all and completely judged me even though I am mentally ill my lifestyle isn’t going to be perfect. For someone with social anxiety it makes me never want to call them again which is ironic because they’re the one place that’s meant to help you. Pretty messed up. Get any other doctors PLEASE.

I moved to Wrexham autumn 2019 and registered with this practice. Over the period and other than the regular checks they make on a fat old Scotsman, blood press, blood sample, alcohol intake and God Bless 'em, they believe me, I have had only three occasions to call on their help for a "proper" reason. Every time their care was off the scale and that was from receptionist, lovlienursiepeople and the topdocs. I have this "thing" that I work to and it is.......when you think you are doing your best, do BETTER - can't apply this to these guys as I could not envisage a "better" to their care.

Absolutely dreadful 52 minutes on hold and then call disconnects. On going health issue that I have to discuss with the Head of Medicine otherwise known as the Receptionist Had Blood Tests, had telephone results 2 months later!!! During this time I had spent 7 days in the Maelor, call was received during my 2nd stay in Hospital. District Nurse who visited me to change dressing advised me to contact GP to discuss a possible problem with my wound, Head of Medicine informed me to speak to the Nurse!!!! Absolute Joke, Shocking, Disgusting

I know times are difficult but as far as I'm concerned I've always managed to get through & been dealt with efficiently. If I really felt I needed to see someone I have been able to get a face to face. The staff have a difficult job & should be treated with respect. It's the health board you should complain to if you feel you have an issue.
