There is one receptionist here that seems to think she is a qualified medical professional. This wouldn’t be such a problem if she weren’t so arrogant and rude about it. The receptionists need re training in how to deal with patients in a friendly and acceptable way. I struggle to understand how after so many negative comments they are STILL providing the same, horrifically poor service. The people you are dealing with are ill people, wouldn’t kill you to be kinder!! As a result of the anxiety about being put through to this woman I am struggling with my health as I cannot bring myself to ring up as I’m always faced with the same awful attitude and provided with zero help in seeing anybody.

The doctors are great! But receptionists are rude and unprofessional, if they are so unhappy there they need a different job, it would be nice to speak to a nice speaking compassionate receptionist for once. This is why the hospitals are so undated with problems because you can't get to see your doctor. 😡😡😡😡

Calling on behalf of a very vulnerable service user who has repeatedly tried and failed to reach anyone. I had to call 5 times just to get added to a queue. Then spent over 30 minutes on hold just for an automated voice to tell me no one was available and hung up. You are seriously putting people at risk!!! If you can't operate properly you should close so people know not to use your GP. Operating like this is dangerous. Sort it out or close your doors.

GP was too quick to issue a prescription of anti-inflammatories without listening to my full symptoms, I had no choice but to go to A&E and was diagnosed with multiple clots on both lungs. Reception staff also have a couldn't care less attitude. Left this surgery after GP would not prescribe eye drops for iritis without a review appointment. The Receptionist offered an appointment for 6 weeks time, when I politely pleaded for an earlier appointment worried it would worsen, she started to shout (for colleagues to hear) "I'm ending the call, I'm ending the call!". The telephone greeting says "Shouting, swearing and being abusive will not be tolerated" I was neither of these, just desperate for an appointment. I called the Eye Department in the Maelor who agreed to see me the next day. They were amazing and wrote to the surgery to say review appointments are not needed for recurring iritis. I'm sure some GP's and Receptionists are wonderful, I didn't have the pleasure of speaking with any in the 15 years I was registered with this surgery.

August 2022. I didn't get as far as seeing a doctor. I had recently moved to the area and needed a doctor as soon as possible as I have a number of conditions and a long list of meds. The receptionist was rude beyond belief and told me no way could I have my prescription, as she had 79 people before me to register, and it would take four weeks to be registered and another four weeks to get an appointment. And only then would I get a prescription. She cut across when I was speaking and said "Listen to me!" We found another doctor and withdrew our application. She had no idea of my conditions and was totally heartless. I put a complaint into the Health Board who were very sympathetic and later had a phone call from the Deputy Manager of the practice. He was very helpful, and I suggested he read the reviews about their receptionist/s. I don't know the outcome .

My experience with GPs themselves has, recently, been very much improved. However, as someone who has worked in both healthcare and admin, the majority of the reception staff’s approach to patients really disgusts me. They don’t answer the phones for hours, you often can’t even get put in the queue because they go on training days where the phones (and the e-consults you are directed to) are down, and when you do get to speak to them they are down right rude. I have three regular medications and there has not been an occasion since being prescribed them that I HAVEN’T had issues picking them up. These are mind-altering prescriptions that you can’t stop cold turkey. Do they care? nah. Just sat and seen a lady come in with the same issue - having reordered her prescription a fortnight ago, only to find today not been done (exactly the issue I have - even my pharmacist groans when they ask what GP I am with). The receptionist cut her off without letting her fully explain, like she was exasperated. She continued to be rude to this patient throughout the interaction, and then audibly sl*gged her off after she left. Disgraceful.

One of useless medical center around, which you have more chance to win a lottery than see a doctors. Lines are constantly engaged or keep you on hold for 20 minutes or more follow by rude uncaring receptionist who practice doctors themselves before consider you are eligible to talk to a doctor in month time if you are lucky.

It’s absolutely shocking behaviour at this practice. They never answer the phones. As I health care professional myself I’m about to take it higher to the Heath board as I’ve heard similar stories from friends and family. Normally takes 20 minutes to even get through, sometimes longer. Theres one receptionist who is shockingly rude. She actually tries to Diagnose with no medical training whatsoever which really shouldn’t be happening. Its dangerous. She has spoken to me rudely on numerous occasions which I have been documenting. I had her on loud speaker one day while I was in work and everyone behind me was in disbelief at how rude and blunt she was. And also at the fact that she thought she could triage with no medical experience whatsoever. On top of this my partner was refused an appointment after getting ill. The reception told him that there was no appointments, and to wait for out of hours. In the meantime he had to be admitted to Wrexham maelor. The Medical team at Wrexham maelor was disgusted at how ill he was which could of been avoided if the receptionist would of not triaged that he could wait for out of hours. They’ve recommended to put in a complaint. It was an unnecessary strain on a already busy A and E department when a course of antibiotics could of solved the situation. It’s completely dangerous. And I will be reporting it to the local Heath board.

I know that there have been some very critical reviews of Plas Y Bryn Surgery and in particular the receptionists, but after phoning up today on behalf of my daughter, not only was the call answered within 1 minute but the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful; and I managed to secure an appointment for later that morning. A very big thank you to the staff.

Been here since 1999. Always sorted me out. Yes it's harder recently to get in. But that's obviously due to the high demand. More people over time. We are a city now. We need more GPs and hospitals. Don't blame them for constantly getting called all day everyday. They work hard and I very much appreciate it. Thanks to the reception team. Doctors and nurses. Cheers.

Excellent surgery staffed by people of the highest order, The doctors are superb, delivering care with compassion and dignity. Whilst it's fashionable to complain, I say it as it is, not one complaint, 5 star feedback to Plas-y,-bryn.

Obviously I can't speak for everyone but my own experience here has been near perfect. I tend to use the e-consult online in the mornings so I don't have to deal with trying to book appointments over the phone, I usually get a callback the same day or appointments booked for the next day, and the nurses/doctors I have dealt with have been wonderful. As expected appointments tend to run late but never too long in my case. There's of course room for improvement but from my own experience I can't complain.

I find doctors, nurses and receptionists all pleasant and helpful. But I do have problems. The first one is making an appointment on the phone which can be extremely frustrating; the second one is actually seeing a doctor. Online or telephone just do not work for me.

Went for my first covid injection today and seeing the queues outside i thought I'd be there ages. It was run like a military operation. Fantastic. The whole experience from queueing to leaving took just under 15 minutes. Well done to everybody there. Excellent service given.

I know there are a lot of negative reviews on here, especially for the reception team, but I just want to say, they have been consistently polite and helpful when I’ve been in touch - yes it can be busy sometimes, but they have always been really helpful for me when organising appointment for my toddler and mother, sorting emergency scripts etc.

Very unhelpful & rude reception staff. NHS 111 asked me to contact them as I didn’t qualify for an ambulance and to remind them of their duty of care, but the receptionist just fobbed me off. Have also repeatedly over-prescribed me medication and can’t seem to ever arrange monthly prescriptions correctly. Nightmare.

Very disappointed with the service. Not even worth a star. Ignorant staff, rude receptionits, no treatment, non caring doctors, What else should I say? This place should be closed.

Exceptional service this week. I spoke to friendly practice staff, saw a nurse and a doctor who were all extremely efficient. I witnessed a rude patient that reception had to deal with - which they handled very well. Thank you Plas-y-Bryn.

On Wednesday morning I tried phoning the doctors, constantly engaged, which I expected so went on to econsult. I have used this service previously for myself and my 89 year old mother, excellent service on each occasion. Yesterday 16/11/2022 I filled in a form for my mother who had been on holiday in Australia and unfortunately had to visit their doctors and diagnosed with bronchitis. Following a course of antibiotics she was getting better but still not feeling well. I filled form in at approximately 11.30 am and within an hour she was contacted to visit at 3.30. Saw a lovely male doctor who gave her a thorough check, phoned hospital as she thought she may have DVT, gave her medication for two days whilst he arranged for her to have scan and chest xray and will be ringing her today regarding her scan. Excellent service as usual.

I moved to this GP based on the recommendations! Amazing, with a long term condition I always get an appointment if I’m unwell, even if I don't call at 8am. You can book appointments in advance which since COVID had been difficult at other practices. Doctors and Nurses are wonderful and the best reception staff at a GP I have come across!

I got sectioned (willingly)/detained for 12 hours A&E and was told when home to contact my doctor. I can't contact any one. know one is answering and most receptionists are rude or want to know your life story and still dont help.make you feel tiny and worthless. (New receptionists mainly) St George's crescent receptionist are friendly learn from them. When I'm poliet to you be polite to me.

If I could rate this practice with a Zero star, I would. I moved to this practice from out of area 6 months ago and have not been able to see a doctor at all in that time, despite having long term chronic condition and spinal cord injury. The reception staff could not be more rude if they were going for a prize in the skill.
