We stayed for two nights and were so disappointed after reading such good reviews prior. The room was okay, some mould in shower but generally clean-ish. Negatives: On the second night our room key was given out to other guests in the hotel, resulting in them walking into our room at 1.30am. After discussing this with the manager no explanation could be given, but we obviously felt this was completely unacceptable and possibly the worst thing that a hotel can get wrong. Totally makes yourself and your belongings feel unsafe. Asked for an extra pillow due to being heavily pregnant, was told they did not have any spare. After staying at multiple hotels over the last few months and asking for an extra pillow each time this has never been a problem anywhere. Asked for the Wifi code, was told the Wifi was not working. Got the impression this was an 'I cant be bothered' answer. After complaining at the end of our stay to the manager it was confirmed the Wifi was working and she couldn't provide an explanation for why we was denied it. This hotel is extremely rural and we had no phone signal at all. Breakfast was horrendous. Didn't serve breakfast until 9am!? Although upon check in they wasn't sure what time to tell us. Waitress had never waited on before, admitted she had no idea what she was doing. Didn't even know what the menu was. I felt so sorry for her as she was a young lady who had been given no training at all. Tea/coffee hot water urn was cold, juices were warm. Only 7 slices of brown bread for toast on the 'help yourself table,' and there was 6 of us in the room at the time. The only things on the service table were tea/coffee, juice, bread and jam. We ordered cooked breakfasts. Bacon and sausages were horrible. Plate was swimming in water from poached eggs. No fruit, yoghurt, continental options at all. Strangest breakfast service I have ever had! In the room the window shut but the catch did not work to lock it, not a major problem being on the first floor but something that should be fixed. Loud music until 12am. There is no main reception, just check in at a the bar. Often there was nobody around, mainly in the mornings this was a problem. We left at 8am on the Sunday, didn't want to wait over an hour for a horrible breakfast. Nobody at 'the bar' to check us out. This hotel lacks any management at all. The only two staff we encountered on 'reception/bar' had a don't care attitude and seemed to have no training in hospitality. After calling the hotel and expressing all of these concerns to the general manager, an apology was given and a free nights stay offered in the future. This was actually quite comical as you literally couldn't pay us to return to this hotel! Quite disappointed to not be offered any refund at all considering what we got was completely not as advertised and felt unsafe due to major security issues.

First time using Lyons Woodlands Park and we absolutely loved it. 😍 While packing to leave, ot felt like we were leaving home, thats how the staff here made us feel, like we were at home. Joan was exceptionally lovely, she went above and beyond to make our stay first class. ❤ we definitely visit again.

We had a sun holiday here and upgraded our caravan as usual. What a beautiful clean well maintained site. Loved it and will be back. Caravan was spotless to and I thanked the cleaner for that. Very helpful too.

We had a lovely stay, nice size caravan. Quiet nice park for kids but would have appreciated a little more entertainment for the kids but it's a small criticism & we will visit again for sure!!

First time visiting and I'm really disappointed. Absolutely terrible staff receptionist so rude. I'm a 53 year old man and never have I been made to feel so small. I think some customer service training wouldn't go a miss. Food OK cleanliness GREAT but I won't be returning or recommending I wouldn't want anyone else to be made to feel that way. Jonathan.

when we arrived the caravan park looked nice and well kept. booking in was easy and the caravan was good quality but not clean, we found pear of dirty gloves and sweet wrappers amongst the dust and a box of half eaten cereal in the cupboard and half a piece of toast in the toaster, as there is nothing to do at all on the camp and you have to travel to find a pub as the restaurant was slow to bring the food and after the curry night which was awful we never went back, if you was to have children bring lots of games as there is nothing to do at all, this camp is clearly aimed at residents and not paying quests sorry to say we will not be coming back.

Absolutely perfect stay on New Year’s Eve. We have never been treated so well. Warmly welcomed and accommodated for concerning our vegan lifestyle as staff went out of their way to purchase and provide amazing food. All staff so friendly, professional and down to earth. Very clean and remarkably beautiful surroundings.

Absolute disgrace. Been coming here since I was a kid and never been told we couldn’t enter the bar area unless we’re owners. I asked to sit in for an hour BEFORE an event started and got told rudely by a bartender NO. Won’t be staying here ever again.

Such slow service. Sat down and waited 20 mins before someone came over to serve us. When we looked about all members of staff were outside smoking....shocking

Lovely place, very nice looking hotel and the caravans are very tidy and comfortable, however I was disappointed to find out that the pool room they had was only infact 1 snooker table which had no cues or tips and no chalk, decided to try darts to find out there are no darts! So looked at the ping pong table to find that there was no ping pong ball, we decided to buy our own just so we could have a family sports night, I think attention to detail is the key criticism of this review, also the WiFi they have is very very poor. We also struggled to buy drinks one night due to them only taking card payments and we only had cash

Well what can we say about Woodlands Hall. We only stayed 1 night this trip but we will be making sure we stay longer next time. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very friendly. She showed us to the Tower Room which was amazing. Huge room with a quaint little bathroom. The food at dinner was plentiful and well cooked and a good choice of refreshments at the bar. We happened to stay on Grill night which was perfect for us. And a very nice sticky toffee pudding. The room itself was comfortable and quite quiet considering we were above the bar. Best nights sleep in ages. . Breakfast was just as good if a little badly organised but came away with a full belly. Only negatives were we wernt sure where to go for breakfast and it was a little bit of a mis mash. But hey we will definitely be staying again . Thank you to all the staff for all your helpful

A lovely place to stay. On our visit, they could have done with additional bar staff.

We stopped here in one of the caravans on site that was clean and tidy and an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales. The caravan was clean and tidy and ideal accommodation for whaat we needed. We only stopped a couple of nights so didn't get to explore the site to get the best of the facilities. Being close to Ruthin, there was shops close by for the self catering break and take aways if you're not up to cooking. What I would say is depending on which caravan you have, you'll need to take care on some of the paving as large trees have lifted some of thee slabss on the access to the van. Even though we've had a wet summer, the grounds were well maintained as we're the vans.

Had a weeks caravan stay. Caravan was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Staff on site very friendly. Such a beautiful, peaceful park. Situated in a scenic area of Denbighshire. The dog park area has the most amazing countryside views with a bench to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Once again we return to Lyons Woodland Park and as always an exemplary kept site and perfectly clean accommodation. We have stayed in the Lodges on three seperate occasions and due to unavailability had to resort to a Platinum graded caravan We are very pleased and the place is spotlessly clean. As a group of three brothers we came without our wives lol and you guessed it forgot towels etc lol. No problem the staff came to our needs and loaned us towels for our three day stay. We dined in Woodlands House on the night of our arrival and wow the Guiness was on offer and complemented our food to perfection. Our chicken curry was delicious and perfectly spiced, we followed this up with sticky toffee pudding yum yum. Great service and complements to the chef. The staff here are exemplary and always there to help with a full smile which is rare these days, and eager to assist in anyway they could, we could not wish for better. If you are in doubt you owe it to yourself to come here, couldn't wish for better and thats coming from a very fussy traveler. Thank You All Paul PRJPhotography

A very nice caravan site with beautiful views. Not many holidaymakers there, meaning it's very quiet.

Unfortunately our 4 day holiday here was cut short after 2 nights as we were told by the management team that a Welsh Water burst pipe had led to water not getting to our caravan. We were advised that if we wanted to stay, we would have to shower at the gym and bring a pan to the reception building for water to drink or cook. Alternatively, they would arrange the rest of our holiday at Robin Hood site, 20 miles away in the large busy resort of Rhyl. Just before we left, my husband was curious and looked at the stop tap on our caravan to discover that site staff had turned off the water at our caravan stop tap. By this time our entire belongings had been packed up and we had no alternative than to travel to Rhyl. No apologies or compensation has been given for this significant and costly disruption to a long planned and anticipated holiday. I would be very uneasy to recommend this company to our friends and family.

This is my new favourite place to stay. Such a lovely warm welcome from all the staff, the room was simply stunning with original features (exposed beams and wood panelling. Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. The hotel has beautiful wood carvings throughout ,cosy bar area ,lovely conservatory which serves outstanding meals. Patio area at the front is a suntrap and the surrounding caravan park is immaculately kept and lovely to walk around before or after evening meal with very friendly residents. Breakfast was served by a lovely lady and tasted gorgeous especially the sausage. Can't wait to come back and will be bringing friends next time to share the experience.

Caravan ok, beds a little uncomfortable. Lack of eating opportunities. Bar ok but closed at 9pm as not busy (would that be the same at 6pm?)

My wife and I booked a room based upon the website ie menu room photos and the surroundings. When we arrived we were not disappointed until we seen the menu, it was nothing at all like the menu on the website and I mean nothing, I honestly believe they have plucked photos from the Internet and put them on thier website. The menu consisted basically of chicken pie and chips, gammon and chips and sausage and mash, what a big let down, it is such a beautiful hotel with friendly staff but a terrible menu especially when they are serving frozen veg with the bar menu. The next morning was also a big disappointment, instant coffee sachets at the breakfast even though the menu stated filter coffee. I have never seen instant coffee at breakfast in a hotel

A beautiful caravan site. Very quiet when we were there as it was outside of school holidays. We'll cared for, food at the hotel good, lots of birdsong. It is a little way out of Ruthin along quite narrow roads which is the only drawback. Ruthin is a beautiful little town.

Lyons Woodlands Hall is currently operating at a reduced capacity and taking extra measures to ensure the safety of staff, owners and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please would all customers ensure they book their table for dining in advance by calling the venue.

Don't bother staying here, rough as can be,doesn't have a restaurant and caters only for caravan owners. Luckily for us we were able to drive home. Never again

Went to Woodlands Hall for the weekend for the first time, it was beautiful! We will be back! Highly recommend! Service from start to finish was amazing, the staff can not do enough for you, extremely helpful!! Caravans were lovely and spotless too. A quiet relaxing park with childrens playground/tennis/outdoor gym and a nearby meadow for playing ball games, even a field for dog walking. Love this place!
