Spent a lovely night on a short break. The reception was very good as we were shown to the room. Part of the hotel dates from the 12 century ! We dined there in the evening the food was very tasty , the staff and service was excellent. In the morning substantial tasty cooked breakfast with choice of fruit juices and choice of eggs however you want them done. Plenty of freshly freshly brewed tea and white and brown toast with marmalade and strawberry jam. Plenty of car parking. Lovely views. Room was fresh and clean. The owner was very pleasant and friendly. Well worth staying or sampling their tasty menus.

Called for lunch today as a party of four. Food was delicious and very accommodating for my dietry requirements. Served by a lovely, funny, sassy lady who couldn't do enough for us. My T-bone steak was the most delicious I have ever tasted and cooked to perfection. Very highly recommend . 5 stars!!

Fantastic little Inn situated on the Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen. Rooms may not be carbon copy Premier Inn but are unique and bed was extremely comfortable. Excellent food, breakfast was delicious. Views down the valley are stunning, and plenty of walks if you're up to it. Will be back

More of a preview than a review. Staying here for about the sixth time , all on the busy Eisteddfod week. The Britannia is part of wonderful Llangollen experience. Fully recommended, but advise early booking for a special date.

Excellent location with excellent walks. The food is great and the service as well. I was brought the wrong meal and when they realised they offered it for free as I was happy to eat it. We didn't stay but plan to

A delightful lunch with friendly, welcoming staff. Currently matching its opening days to visitor numbers, so check that the pub is open before travelling. We shall be back, following this enjoyable lunch after a day-trip to Llangollen. In early October 2022.

Really friendly staff, dog friendly and food was great. They also allowed us to stay over in the car park in our campervan in return for a meal. For me the choice of larger/ipa wasn’t great, but that’s personal choice. Would recommend when in the area.

Always wonderful food and great local feel, the staff are always friendly and make the experience of eating out enjoyable. The Sunday Roast was incredible... well worth a visit, beautiful views, locally sourced food... Make sure you to book before hand.

From booking to check out was phenomenal, lovely and friendly. Rooms were very homely, bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have stopped in in a hotel. Food - brilliant, the breakfast was just brilliant. Can’t recommend this hotel more - thank you for a brilliant stay!

Popped into the bar area of the inn with friends and family as we were staying nearby. Awful welcome. Miserable staff. We were confined to a tiny area of the bar with no atmosphere, plastic covid screens everywhere, old dirty carpets and barriers stopping visibility of the hotel frontage, which could have looked beautiful if done right. Staff clearly didn’t want to be there. Shame as in a real prime location and could really be something. Won’t be going back.

Food average. Overcooked chips. Pie pastry edge very hard. Filling was outstanding. Really liked the atmosphere and service.

We had a roast beef lunch. Plenty of meat, huge Yorkshire pudding and plentiful vegetables. Good selection of desserts, sadly too ful to try any. Situated on the Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen. Stunning views.

This looked massive on the outside but when we went in it was a little snug which allows pets. The women on the bar were really nice and informative about the specials and the menus. They even had Tabasco (lots of places dont). We had the burgers and the fish cake. It was all lovely and between us we are quite spoilt and hard to please so well done Britannia you get 5 stars for being awesome xx

Stopped here for lunch on a day out. Limited opening hours at the moment but the food selection was good. Pleasant surroundings and washroom was immaculate. Worth a visit and we will be back.

After a 12k walk came to pub for a drink. bar man saw me then walked off giving excuse. 2 customers looked at me a bit surprised. 7 mins later another bar man came he also gave an excuse and walked off. A further 5 minutes lapsed. Then a female staff member appeared and walked past me....the bar was not busy ..the customers who witnessed all of this looked embarrassed by the staff behaviour. In the end I left the bar without getting any service.....I should mention I am Black. ( I'm not going to say they were racially motivated ) but as a result of my experience as a businessman who regularly brings people from London and the Midlands up to Wales to walk and we spend a lot of money this place will NOT be on our recommended list of locations. ..even if not racist ..it was shockingly poor customer service in a very very hot day.

What a little gem of a place. We stayed for 2 nights to attend a family wedding locally. However we will not need another wedding to stay here again it was fantastic. Anne and her staff were the nicest and most hospitable of people and nothing was to much trouble, everything about them was genuine. The food was fantastic. I told the chef to have his coat ready for when we were leaving as I wanted to take him home. Thankyou for your delicious menu. The Inn is a 14 century building with lots of character. The place was immaculate without being clinical. I would not hesitate in recommending this establishment to anyone. The accommodation is excellent for walkers. Anne get the ironing board out as we will be back. ( I will let her tell you about that) Thankyou for everything. 👏😘

Great staff, luckily came here when it was 27c, so beautiful in the garden. Had 3 starters and all were lovely, washed down with a couple of pints of Thatchers, iced cold. Wicked country pub with sea view. Can’t book garden tables, inside only, but come down and you can order from your table. Would recommend.

As a group 7 walking into the pub/ restaurant it was made apparent very quickly we weren't made to feel welcome. Understandably we were having a laugh, but received no manners or a crack of a smile from a member of staff and whom we assume to be the landlady. What a shame....we had booked a table for the Saturday night for a table of 8....we cancelled the reservation! When ordering drinks there were no manners, please or thank you's cost nothing and go a long way.

A huge choice of food and desserts. The food was really tasty. The staff were brilliant, very friendly atmosphere, nice and cosy. A must visit, if you are going up to the horseshoe pass pop in.

A group of 13 of us turned up without a reservation, the staff was superb and accommodated the best they could. The food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their chosen dish and all food was served hot and together. Couldn't fault the welcome and service and would definitely busy there again.

On our way back from visiting Chirk Castle on a beautiful summer’s afternoon, we were looking for a nice pub for a bite to eat. After passing others along the way, we had a good feeling about this one with people sitting outside, it looked really cozy and inviting. Staff are lovely and made us feel very welcome. Their food is your typical pub classics, so I ordered scampi and chips and my partner going for the steak and ale pie. Fresh and tasty and cooked to perfection. Desserts were heavenly too; lemon sponge with custard for me and a chocolate fudge cake for the other half, all washed down with a couple of fruit ciders. We felt that we couldn’t’ve found a more perfect spot as we sat outside in the shade eating lovely food with such a nice relaxed atmosphere and we can’t wait to go back!

I arranged an 80th birthday meal for my Nana for 35 of us!! In the build-up to the meal Ann (the owner) was very helpful in making sure they had all the orders they needed ahead of the day and we were happy with everything. Due to how helpful they had been already I knew we were on to a winner but they by far surpassed my expectations on the day. Ann went over our orders again with me just to make sure everything was correct. We had a private function room and bar to ourselves, we were allowed in an hour early to decorate and the venue took safe delivery of the cake for us before we had arrived! Absolutely nothing was too much trouble - Ann even cut the cake into 30 odd pieces for us too! The delivery and quality of the starters, mains and desserts was brilliant, they made serving over 30 people look effortless!! I couldn't recommend them enough for a large group and celebration. They did everything they could to make sure my Nana's birthday went well and was extra special.

We called in this pub on the way back from the North Wales Coast, we only had a drink and a small snack so I'm not able to comment on the food but the service we had was excellent. I'm local but felt the need to comment today because of how welcoming the lady was, we assume she was the owner. We had our 2 year old disabled daughter with us today and this lady went out of her way to engage with her and understand her needs better. She even asked us whether our daughter would get upset by the sound of the hoover before she cleaned the dining area. I've never been asked this anywhere before and I believe this demonstrates the amount of empathy, care and understanding this lady had. My daughter struggles with loud noises and sensory overload, so this truly meant a lot to us. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly, welcoming, warm and comfortable place to go.
